Leather and honey smothered with lots of sugar. The leather is definitely not strong, probably due to aging. Weirdly, I'm getting a bubblegum type of scent on my skin. The bubblegum like scent fades in a couple hours and I'm left with just pure vanilla sugar. It's okay, not what I expected. Not that great if you were hoping for lots of leather.

Compared to regular Sin, this one on me was lacking the amber and sandalwood but heavier on the cinnamon than the original. The frost note is alright, definitely agree with others that it is basically Snow White. I don't think it really works well with this but it's nowhere near the worst Frostbitten scent I have tried. Glad to have gotten more cinnamon this time around, my imp of Sin is mostly sandalwood patchouli.

Seaweed gardenia and lotuses with a sprinkle of sea salt and vanilla, it turns into a very soapy aquatic on me. I am not the biggest fan of aquatics, but it's got enough florals to make this interesting. Even when it turned soapy, it was still enjoyable! Will likely upgrade since I do want to venture more into aquatics and this is the best one I have tested to date.

I didn't get any amber, this was all patchouli sandalwood with hints of cinnamon. Kind of incense like. The wet stage reminded me of Snake Oil for some reason and I'm not sure why. Really nice, maybe not bottle worthy but I won't say no to more frimps from the Lab of this!

No bubblegum at all for me, this is blue lollipops with a frosty sort of note. Very faint sadly. Nowhere near as good as the Blue Lollipops from a few years before this was released, but to me they do share a similar lollipop note. But this doesn't have that juicy blueberry and instead has a snow note. Pretty, I might upgrade because I'm hoping the reason it was faint was because I didn't apply enough.

My decant wasn't labelled, so I actually used this as a hair gloss instead of an atmosphere spray. In my case it worked well! Sweet cherry ice cream, no sandy notes at all or even blood. Very sweet, almost reminiscent of candy instead of ice cream sometimes. Probably one of the nicest cherries I have tried from BPAL honestly. Also love the name! Basically a sugary sweet cherry single note with a vanilla background. Might upgrade, but I want to test this as a room spray first.

Candy Corn Coated Candy Apple
fairybites replied to mineralgirl's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
When wet, the candy apple note is super duper strong, resembles the green Jolly Ranchers. But as it dries, the candy corn and sprinkles nearly overtake the sugary apples. I did not get any bourbon vanilla or cinnamon. It's nice, maybe not quite bottle worthy since I wanted more apples. -
Very peppery and bubbly champagne. I personally didn't get any peach. Didn't last a long time and a very low throw. Not the best champagne note I've tried, but I'm sure this would work for someone who enjoys pepper and champagne.

If you have tried the Girl Scouts Lemonade cookies, this smells pretty close! So delicious. Mostly got the lemon buttercream frosting, my mouth actually watered when I wore this it smelled that good. Honey is kinda faint, lemon for sure is the star of the show. Hoping I can find a bottle of this, but we'll see. For sure upgrade worthy, I love a good lemon or citrus perfume.

The cherry note, while it lasted, was lovely. But the oud just took over and turned the cherry into a baby powder like scent and poop. Fades fairly fast too, about two hours. If you love oud more than cherry, this may be for you. There wasn't enough cherry in here for my liking, and the oud just did not work well with me.
-
Yeah, this isn't for me. I'm getting the iron mostly and some of the leather. When I first applied it, it smelled faintly like oudh and brass. There's also a note in here that resembles baby powder, my guess is the soot. It's like freshly washed clothing covered in grease? So odd, was not expecting it to be to clean. Will keep an imp for my RPG collection, but not looking to acquire anymore.

Dryer sheets. The lavender is so strong in here it's giving me dryer sheets instead of what I thought it would be. Powdery and soapy, and I'm getting no blood musk or other notes. Honestly not a bad dryer sheets type of scent, but I've got enough of those type of scents and I definitely don't need anymore.

Buttery almond fortune cookies! Getting a faint trace of citrus too, possibly lemon. Without looking at the name, I'd probably think this was just a lemon or sugar cookie. None of the incense shows up for me, most likely aged out of my imp. It's pretty faint, so I won't be upgrading this. But it is pretty accurate at resembling those delicious fortune cookies so if you are dying for that type of scent, this is perfect.

Grassy buttery pumpkins with sage. I was not expecting the slight buttery note, it doesn't really fit with these other notes. Grass actually fades fast on me in this, so I'm left with the pumpkin and sage with a touch of floral from the cactus blossom. It's alright, I love a good grassy or hay note but the buttery pumpkin just throws it off for me. If you want a natural pumpkin still on the vine, this could be a good fit.

This is the perfect bubblegum to me! It's super pink, like Hubba Bubba. The bubblegum in here is definitely similar to Jailbait. Powdery and sweet. Not getting cinnamon or mint that others have mentioned. It lasts a very long time, kinda rare with me and my beloved bubblegum perfumes. Throw is fairly strong too for the first couple hours! Love this, maybe not more than regular Lolita but this is in my top 3 bubblegum BPALs! Bubblegum lovers, this is amazing and you have to try it.

So hard to pick out the individual fruits in this, it's a fruit punch scent basically. The ones I could really identify were strawberry, raspberry, and pear. Everything else blends together too much. Definitely nice, a little faded and chalky on me. Maybe due to age of my imp. Definitely prefer the 2020 Fruit Moon, but this was a fun one to try!

Weird, I did not detect any of these notes but blueberry. It went boozy on me? Blueberry alcoholic drink is what I kinda got, maybe a touch of whipped cream. No apples I'm a sucker for blueberries so this is for sure a keeper, I'd have just liked the apples too.

Mostly blackberries with a little bit of the dead leaves. The berries are tart and ripe, fresh off the bush. Actually, the dead leaves note reminds me more of the bushes that they grow on instead of dead leaves. It's definitely green. And the blackberries are not sugary on me at all. One of the nicer Dead Leaves I have tried! Will probably upgrade this.

I like this better than regular Boo!, actually. This isn't just regular popcorn, it's absolutely drenched in butter and milky cream. A little bit of sugar too, but it's mostly creamy butter.
-
I like this! It's a grapefruit and kumquat dominant blend on me but I can smell a little of the yuzu in the background. Florals aren't too strong on me, and there's definitely a faint powdery snow note covering them. Not sure if I'll upgrade, it gets a little baby powder like near the end, but it sure is nice. I enjoy a good citrus, but the florals in here keep me from loving this.

MVJBA: Summer Summoning Spectacular

Smoky grass covered in sticky maple syrup and faint traces of coffee. This is kinda weird. One minute it's foodie and the next it's grass. Definitely a morpher on me. I didn't get any incense at all and none of the pancakes themselves, just the syrup. Probably the worst pancake scent I have tried, but it is interesting enough to keep. -
Jam and cream topped pancakes without the maple syrup. Very bready and weirdly not super sweet even with all these sugary notes. I don't get any ginger, but I can pick up the cinnamon and fried apples. I enjoy it, but it definitely resembles fried apples near the end than pancakes. I also couldn't detect any ale notes, but honestly I think this is good just the way it is and I'm not sure if I'd have liked that note.

Powdery sweet violets, they almost smell like sugared violets to me. Not much mint I can tell and the violets themselves are stronger than the leaves. The throw is soo faint, I have to have my nose pressed to my hand to smell it. Maybe if I had a newer version, it would work better with me. Not horrible, but I'll only be keeping an imp for my Mad Tea Party collection and won't be upgrading.

I have to be honest, this is kinda disappointing. This has been incredibly hyped up and I love the Lab's blueberry. It's lovely for the first few minutes after application, but it takes no time at all for the blueberry to fade away and the cardamom cream to be more prominent. And that alone isn't too bad, it still smelled good and there was faint blueberry traces in there. But as it fades, which it does quickly, it is close to being a "my skin but better" type of fragrance. I'm tempted to try this again, I did have a partial imp to test this with after all. Maybe if I had more to apply, I would have gotten a better experience. The scent is wonderful, the longevity was really lacking in my case. If I ever get more of this and have a different experience, I'll update this review.

This review is for the 2016 version! It started out gingerbread, but once applied the candy and frosting notes quickly overshadow it and force that note into the background. Can definitely notice the gum drops and mints the most, no chocolate. If you were looking forward to the gingerbread, this is probably not a good choice. The gingerbread is barely there and the main focus is on the candy decorations. However, because of the gingerbread it's not nearly as sweet as other similar Winter perfumes. As it fades, the candy notes are the first to go and only then do I really get the gingerbread. But by now it's mostly the spices.
