Under the Foot Warmer starts off as this lovely smoky peppery leathery haze, and gets sweeter and more blended as the hours go by. 4 hours after application, it's mostly green tea and amber and this bright woody scent that I'm assuming is the ho wood (sort of balsam-adjacent but less dry?). The green tea is closer to genmaicha than straight green tea, with sort of a toasted rice roundness to it. Overall: Starts out musky with worn leather and smoke, then morphs into a wearable sweet toasted delight. I'll definitely be upgrading to a full bottle; this one is my favorite Luper of the year! Throw: medium Longevity: High, but it's a morpher!

Oh, Theodosius, how desperately I wanted to love you... In the bottle, this is strong Earl Grey tea, sugar, and lemon. There's something a bit darker in it, more masculine and cologne-y. A bit overwhelming in the bottle! Wet, this somehow turns into vanilla-y lemony jasmine. Jasmine leaf doesn't smell the same as jasmine, so I'm not sure where this is coming from. It's not quite bad enough that I ran to wash it off, but it certainly wasn't pleasant at all- not what I expected from Theodosius, and not something I like. As it drys down, however, the jasmine scent sloooowly fades away. The vanilla bean comes to the front, with a hint of bergamot and a squeeze of citrus. It has this green floral undertone (the fougere?) that keeps it surprisingly light and spring-y, but the white musk grounds it and keeps the scent from being too sweet and flowery. I'm not getting black tea from this at all- it's more of a light white or green tea. It fades surprisingly quickly. As it faded, it morphed wildly yet again- it's late stages are a warm, lightly sweet, creamy musk. At this point it doesn't have much throw, instead hugging the skin. I can't stop sniffing my wrists to get more of that faint creamy sweetness. All in all, I like Theodosius okay, but it wasn't all I dreamed it would be. Nevertheless, I'll be keeping it and hoping it will grow more to my liking with time. Strong throw (at the beginning), very brief staying power

In the imp and wet, this is all sweet honey amber, I'm not getting any beeswax. It's warm and golden and delicious, without much complexity. I had to double check the scent description, because it just smells like glowing honey to me! Though that might just be because I associate honey and candles with Rosh Hashanah... On dry-down, the beeswax starts coming out- it's not the scent of fresh candles, but the warm scent of beeswax rolled candles- I don't quite know how to describe it, but for Shabbat I usually use these candles that are made by rolling a honeycomb-shaped sheet into a taper shape. The wax gets caught in the honeycomb bits of the candle and doesn't drip down, but rather accumulates on the candle itself. That's what V'al Hanissim smells like to me, all melty-glowy-warm beeswax and sweet amber. It has intense staying power- I applied it last evening and it's still clinging to my skin. I can't stop sniffing my wrists! Low throw, long lasting, absolutely delicious. I might be ordering a backup.

In this imp, like others have said, this is an intense, sweet coconut-shea butter blend. A bit creamy, with a hint of vanilla. Wet, the coconut fades a bit and the shea butter comes out in full force. As it's drying down I get a wave of something chemical for about five minutes- like expired sunscreen, or melting rubber. That phase doesn't last long, and once it's fully dry it turns into a sweet, milky, beachy coconut lotion scent. It reminds me of rice pudding, with a bit of lingering waxiness. I'm going to keep the imp for hot days, but it's not something I imagine I'll be wearing out. Low throw, medium longevity Edit to add: I thought that my skin ate this up (hence the medium longevity). I was wrong! Throughout the day, I kept getting hints of pure creamy coconut. All the lotion/shea butter notes disappeared after a few hours, and what was left was a delicious, sweet hint of coconut. I've changed my verdict: I love this, though I'll be applying it an hour or so before going out so I just get this gorgeous coconut throughout the day.

In the bottle, this is a peppery, verdant scent with an underlying note of dark vanilla. Wet, like others have said, this is very herbal and green- a bit astringent, a bit peppery, and the Snake Oil lends it this odd, almost sickly-sweet undertone. I love the herbal notes- it makes me think of an herbal salve with mullein, comfrey, etc. However, the Snake Oil is not meshing well with the rest of it. As it's drying it's becoming more of what I had envisioned. The astringent herbs are settling down a bit, becoming much fresher and lighter (think meadow as opposed to swamp), while the SO notes are deepening and softening, entwining with the green. It's starting to become a lovely spring scent, though still not quite cohesive enough for me. It's definitely lightening up and getting a bit sweeter! Fully dry, I love this! The dandelion sap comes out in full force, yellow and sweet and herbal. The nettle and mullein temper the sweetness and keep it from turning sickly-instead, it smells green, fresh, full, and a tad bit floral. In the background, the snake oil lends a dewy, sap-like note- if the main scent of the perfume is a lush meadow, the snake oil is the damp grass and wet earth underneath it. It's wearable, slightly minty, and very springtime. Medium-low throw and medium wear length. This is a winner in my books, and I'll be wearing it whenever I'm gardening this spring!
