Bruised Violet Compound
proverbsofhell replied to Leopard403's topic in Doc Constantine's Pharmacopoeia
I recieved this as a frimp with my last order. Since I work closely with my mother, I tend to ask her opinion on whatever fragrance I'm wearing. She'll have to smell it too. I don't usually get much in the way of feedback beyond, like or dislike, smells clean/soft/like powder. This fragrance, however, made a distinct impression on both of us. Earthy, fruity violet. We both liked it. It really suits me and is a standout in my collection so far. This is worth a bottle. -
I blindpurchased a bottle of this, feeling I would probably like it. I do indeed. Here's the funny thing, sometimes the smell reminds me of plastic figurines? But, like, good? I asked someone else if they could smell the plastic, but they didn't. Maybe it's just me? Lasts a long time. I put a rollerball cap on it and use it frequently. Edit: I wanted to return to this after wearing this a lot over the course of a few months. It's a cool, creamy musk for me. I've gotten comments that people can smell it from a good space away. It's one of my no-brainers. I don't get a 'pinkness' from this. Maybe that just doesn't come through for me or that I have different associations. If it's a color, it's white to me. I may be getting the amber as well.

I like this more every time i wear it. Lots of pink fruit and coconut in the bottle. The fruit lays back, and it becomes coconut and earth on me. The first couple of times I wore it, it quickly died. However, wearing it yesterday, it stayed relatively strong and lasted several hours. It's a good hot season fragrance, and I'm happy I bought it.

Honey, Black Lilies, and Gardenia Petals
proverbsofhell replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Lupercalia
It's a sugary honey spear in the bottle, and the flowers creep up and encircle it but never dominate on my skin. Pretty good wear! I really like this one. There really is something a little sinister about it. -
On me: Barely something that morphs into light cologne that morphs into...nothing. Too bad, I'm not Wilde about it.

I'm not great at identifying scent notes, but here are my thoughts: I like this, though if i wore it too often, I'd get sick of it. I'd apply a few drops. It's pretty strong and lasts. If I was going to wear this, maybe a night out in dressed up jeans and a t-shirt. There's a bit of a funk to it.

Testing New Perfume [April 2021]
proverbsofhell commented on CiaoBonefish's blog entry in Ciao's Blog.
I'm still enjoying it! One of my friends also loved it and ordered a bottle. It may require more frequent application, but that part is its own kind of fun, to carry it around in my bag and dab on a little extra here and there. -
My favorite experience of this fragrance is the first hour or so on my skin, a punch of ozone followed by honey-floral. After that, it's a drenched stump. Not wild about it. In the locket, it's all ozone, though i swear i taste honey when i smell it. This may not be a winner for me.

Testing New Perfume [April 2021]

Hey, I picked up a bottle of The Bees' High Tea after reading this, and oh man oh man no regrets. It may need to rest, but I'm already impressed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I've never shopped with them before, but this might be my spring favorite.
