I find this a bit more similar to Lush's "Tramp" than Dance of Death was, though it's earthier. It's rather resiny, with a hint of sweetness. And now that I've read the "dollar bills" comparisons, I can totally see it. A keeper.

I knew I would love this from the description, and I was not wrong. Freshly-turned soil, moss, and rose petals strewn about. Love.

I'm really surprised by how subtle this is! Upon first application, I get roses, but not overpoweringly so. Then the cinnamon comes in, but that's not in-my-face, either! There's not much throw, and it's more of a skin scent - it's just a hint of spiced roses above the back of my wrist. Very elegant and nice.

Got this as a frimp with an eBay order. The first few times I sniffed it, I put it away without skin testing it because it was a bit too girly/department store perfume-y for me. But on my skin, WOW. I don't know if I'm having a good skin chem day or what, but after the rose musk settles down, the honey and pear bloom into something really, really beautiful. It's dried down into a nice, sweet fruity-floral scent. Not even the currant wrecks this one for me. Gorgeous. I'll hang onto this one.

Starts off as mostly pomegranate and a bit of spice, then changes to men's cologne. The cologne phase wears off, and I'm left with earthy, musty remnants with just a hint of fruit. Crypt King is a dapper fellow, and the name is very befitting of this blend.

I'm going to have to echo the above "yech" - my first thought was that there had to be jasmine in this. It's waaay stinky, overpowering, and gave me a mild headache. A shame, since the description was so lovely!

This is ASTOUNDING. On first application I got cinnamon and ginger, and then the clove and coffin wood came in. YUM. The spice is beginning to burn off, and the black musk is drifting in and adding a lazy sweetness to the blend. I'm so glad I grabbed a decant from eBay, and though it might take me a while to track down a bottle, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to do that. Jeebus, I LOVE this. /huffs arm and faints

This is unfortunately going the same route as Coral Snake on me - the first few seconds are WONDERFUL, very sweet and incensey, and then it all kinda falls apart and smells really sharp, funky, and B.O.-like. I'm 50/50 with Snake Pit blends now. Darn. eta: Whoa, now I'm getting that Sweet-Tarts/grape note weirdness. What a strange blend.

Holy geez, this was a "why not?" addition to my decant circle order and I'm SO GLAD I WENT FOR IT. There's not much else to say - it's JUST LIKE HOT CHOCOLATE, complete with marshmallows. It's really intense at first, but on the skin it dries down to smoooooooth cocoa, like the kind you use in baking. This is so good, omg. A total win and a possible bottle.

First impression: whoa, this is SWEET. It's very syrupy, with something that reminds me of either honey or caramel. As it dries down, it's turning into a sort of musky, spicy powder. There MIGHT be some vanilla in there, but I can't tell for sure. I wasn't sure about the initial blast of SWEETNESS, but I'm actually really digging the drydown. Gonna hang onto this one. eta: Okay, the throw and longevity on this is in. sane. It's become a lot more peppery, too. It brings to mind a STYLISH SWANKIN' OLD WOMAN, which I suppose is the point.

This is so strange. I got a frimp of the Dark Delicacies signature blend a few weeks ago, and Tattered Lace's drydown smells JUST LIKE that: a creamy, heavy, almost smoky vanilla/coconut blend. Slightly sour and not "light" on me at all. Huh.
-
A dry, slightly vanilla apple musk with a hint of bergamot. It's light, fragile, and absolutely gorgeous. It doesn't have much throw on me, but that means I'll just have to track down more for re-application - it's worth it.

2008 version. "The taste of blood and sweat," indeed - I was really enjoying the opening kush stage but now it's gone really sour and tangy on me. It fits the description a bit too well on me, and it kinda just makes me want to take a shower. Oh well!

Tiger-lily, ginger root, neroli, purple fruits, and frankincense. I'm only getting lily and frankincense from this, which is disappointing since I was looking forward to some ginger! I have a full bottle of Hymn for my lily-heavy needs, so I don't need to hang onto this. It was worth the try, though!

Received a very aged imp in a trade. I was so looking forward to this, since I usually like "dark" scents and vetiver. Reading the reviews, I see mentions of civet -- that's okay, since Debauchery has civet and that works on me. Alas. This scared me even sniffing the vial -- SO. MUCH. MUSK. And when I put it on... well, how can I put this? It reminds me of a sweaty Port-a-Potty. It dries down to an icky powder scent. I had to use the scrubby soap for this one. While I'm glad I finally got to try this one, and it was cool to see an imp with the old-style logo, it's not for me. Into the swap bag with you!

Initial application is MINT! MINT MINTY MINT MINT, with an undertone of something herbal. But when the mint all burns off, I am left with the best New Age shop smell - like warm, sweet burning grass. This was my surprise favorite of my Song of Nature decants.

I was very generously frimped a decant of this from joyfulgirl, and wow, this is ASTOUNDING. I sniffed it when I was nowhere near a note list, so at first I thought I was getting wine. When I put it on, it absolutely BLOSSOMED into a gorgeous mix of roses, Spanish moss, and earth - I fell in love with the Lab's earth notes from the moment I tried on Nosferatu, and I always jump at the chance to try it again. It remains an elegant, refined, almost mournful scent and ends as dust a few hours later. A wonderful experience.

This is like... a lighter version of some of my favorite vetiver/patchouli combo scents (Death Adder, Great He-Goat), but with a nice citrus kick that makes it stand out. It's very green and earthy, but not overwhelmingly filthy. The drydown is phenomenal. I can't say for sure whether I'll get a bottle or not, but I'm glad I got a decant.

I was worried because of the STRONG honeyed-wine notes from the vial (almost sickly), but those burned off on me immediately. It was mostly myrrh for a few minutes, and now it's... potatoes. Yeah. I don't get it, either.

Today was one of those testing days that were not-good (one turned plasticky, the other into Play-Doh)... so to brighten my mood, I will try this, which I have no expectations whatsoever for! I was going to save this for last because it was naughty and decided to leak in my imp box, but fuggit - THE TIME FOR WRATH IS NOW. This was a frimp from joyfulgirl, btw. Thank yooooou! /opens imp In imp: Spice rack FROM HELL, more savory than sweet. Reminds me of a sauce more than anything else. This is pretty bizarre. (In retrospect, I think I'm amping/amped the pepper.) Wet, on skin: Good news: I have not randomly developed a cinnamon allergy. It's still strange and vegetable-like. Dragon's Hide is one of my faves, so why isn't the dragon's blood in here behaving? Dry: The cinnamon finally comes out and makes a difference - a HUGE difference. I'm not sure if I'd wear it, but... um... actually this is kinda sexy. I'm starting to get the Red Hots comparisons - this is actually getting BETTER the more it dries, so I hope it holds up! VERDICT: Into the like/retest pile... er... mentally, due to its oily status. Saved. FOR NOW.

This is the first BPAL I've tried that well and truly turned to Play-Doh on me. It was SO NICE for the first few hours, too! Waahhh.
-
I wanted this EVER since I read the description, and now that I finally have a decant, I am so glad somebody snagged the last bottle on Etsy before I did. Sometimes, this is exactly like the smell of rain striking the pavement on a hot day, with a hint of faraway incense wafting on the breeze. Unfortunately, the rest of the time... it's soap. Heartbreaking.

I checked this out because it was a sweet blend with vetiver in it, and oddly enough, vetiver is the one note I'm not getting. But that's okay, because this is otherwise UNNGHASDFDSAFSD -thud-. The cherry note stays, which pleases me IMMENSELY, because my first cherry blend (Queen of Hearts :'() got eaten in an instant. I also get the wine, the clove, the honey, the vanilla, and what amazes me most is that it all plays nicely together. Nothing is screaming over the other notes; this is smooth and sexy the whole way through. I didn't know I had an Inner Vamp until I tried this one. This makes me want to dress up in leather and pop on some bright ol' red lipstick. Decadent, somewhat obscene, and should probably be illegal. If this continues to be good when I wear it other days, this'll be a bottle for sure.

This was a total whim purchase for me, having not been interested until I saw it in somebody's Sales thread while looking for something else, but I'm glad I'm decided to go for it. The stars of skin chemistry were in perfect alignment today, because I kept sniffing myself and smiling all day long. Starts off wet as mostly sweet rose, then slowly morphs into the most WONDERFUL sweet rose/whipped cream scent. The strawberry's there if I look for it, but it's not overpowering at all. I will gladly go through my decant and may even hunt down a bottle. I LOVE LOVE.

Starts off MUCH sweeter than I thought it'd be, very tart and powdery. Reminds me of apple chips or apple rings - sweet and chewy. It stays fairly sweet on the skin, but then the resins come out to add some depth. At this point, it actually becomes a bit dark, and it smells WONDERFUL. I will note that it left a pretty obvious red blotch where I swiped the imp wand, though there's no itching or pain. If I re-test and wind up with the same results, I'll forgo hunting down a bottle, since that's a bit worrying. :/ It's a shame it's doing that, since this is definitely one of my favorites so far!
