~~frimp review~~ oh this is just lovely. it's beeswax through and through, with a hint of coconut and sweetness. i can only make out a bit of flame, it's much more like an unlit candle to me. simple but very nice

ohhh yeah. oh yeah. in the bottle, it's very licorice, but it changes near instantly. the blood musk + cherry is giving me major Blood flashbacks (in a great way). it's very delicious and sexy especially thanks to the patchouli. I can't make out the rose much besides just faintly in the background, so don't let it scare you off if you aren't a rose lover like me. it's just exactly what the description says: luscious, brooding, and sensual. a must if you like Blood or the idea of blood + patchouli

oh so delightful, truly very halloween-y and autumnal. it's a very sweet pumpkin spice caramel/maple scent. I don't get incense much (granted I'm not at all familiar with kyphi), so it caught me off guard at how gourmand it was. it's very sweet and cozy, like something you'd want warm in a mug on a chilly fall morning. love it

reposting this from a comment I made on the FB cause everyone deserve to know the beautifulness that is the B&W cookie oil: okay so I really have no idea why I gravitated to B&W cookie so hard cause sweets and desserts are not my thing. on me, it's an even mix of chocolate and vanilla (as it should be) with a typical sugar cookie scent, think those holiday pillsbury cookies baking in the oven. it isn't overly or disgustingly sweet, it's a perfect vanilla & chocolate cookie cooling on the counter scent. it's LOVELY to add, it's more like the scent of fresh cookies smelling up your home rather than eating a big bite yourself. and after watching Tom's live, yeah this is 100% better than eating the actual cookie itself. I really don't know why I loved this scent so much when I'm really not a fan of the cookies (or chocolate in general)! BPAL's chocolate note is just divine, so I'm attributing it to that. if you think you'd like a not-so-intense vanilla/chocolate dessert scent then I heavily recommend it.

AMAZING. A MA ZING! TRULY one of the two scents I bought at NYCC, I got a decant of this but it had yet to arrive but upon smelling it I knew it'd have to be a full bottle. in said bottle, it is 99% chocolate (very comparable to Cacao & Scorched Milk) and 1% blood, and as Tom pointed out to me as I was smelling it, the blood would come out later. basically immediately upon putting it on, BOOM bloody blood. the switch up is so quick and stark, but the chocolate compliments the blood so beautifully, and the bit of cherry makes me think of one of those fruit filled chocolates. it's decadent without being gourmand. I can't recommend this enough, it's a must buy if you like blood AND/OR the lab's chocolate note

right off the bat, this is pretty sweetly smokey. I second everyone describing the mango more as dried mango slices than the red mango pulp that the description says. the florals definitely come through as well and it all comes together as a powdery, sweet incense smokey slightly fruity experience. although not the juicy mango I was expecting, it's elegant and mature and very pretty.

Rose Petals, Marshmallows, and Afterglow Hair Gloss
asoursweetsixteen replied to Jenjin's topic in Hair
oh gosh the 'afterglow' is relentless. it smells sweaty and salty (but different to fancy pup's sweat !) and kind of beachy? it smells a tad like sunscreen. for a while I can't make out anything but the afterglow which is not ideal to be in my hair and creating a lil post-"activities" sweat scented aura around my being. after a lot of what I can assume brutal and bloody fighting the rose finally emerges (yay) and is holding hands with the mallow. the end result is what would happen to a sweet, mild rose perfume after some sweaty debauchery. it's very nice in the end but I'd be wary about wearing this in the BO-filled summer months- 8 replies

as a pomegranate lover, I rejoiced HARD this lupercalia since there were so many pom scents ❤️ and while pomegranate is so beautiful and gorgeous and makes you want to put it in everything, sometimes it just needs to hand out with its very close friend pink peppercorn one on one and damn do they make a great match. the pom is super sweet and tart and just straight up smells like a hard candy. the pink pepper is present in the form of a slight burn in your nostrils when you inhale. I'd definitely prefer it playing a bigger role but I can't complain because this scent is really nice and straightforward. BPAL's pom note never fails me

I can absolutely inhale a bunch of lychees while watching something, so I definitely jumped at the chance to smell like one. the florals are more prominent than the lychee (which makes sense since florals are 4/6 of the notes) but the lychee is still very much there and fighting to be noticed. I unfortunately can't make out the pink peppercorn much (womp womp cause I love pink pepper) so this oil is just super bright with nothing trying to bring it down or curb it. this is beautiful and very delightful! definitely tempting to upgrade to a full bottle

this is definitely not my realm and not my usual scent. honestly I loved the label art and let it entice me into something that I wouldn't normally try, plus I love mango cream and papaya so I just went for an imp. it's definitely the outlier of my luper haul which has been mostly fruity and sweet with a touch of florals. this is just super sweet leather with a slight peppery and sweat salt burn, and the sweetness is very much on the artificial side. I can't really pick out much else since this is very much not my specialty. it's definitely extremely sensual and suggestive and I totally see the appeal. it's like some leather gear got stained with tears, sweat, and the remnants of the wearer's (or their partners?) super sweet perfume sprayed on beforehand was shoved in a bottle. it evokes a very naughty image and I'll definitely put it on time to time

this smells like something I've smelled before and I just cannot put my finger on what it is! P.V. is very complicated and kind of sensual imo. all the notes work together and make something that's truly more than the sum of it's parts. the labdanum and resin bring a darker sense to it while the juicy pomegranate and plum lifts it back up. I'm kind of lost for words except that P.V. is complex, beautiful and kinda sexy.

oh yes. this is the scent of pure sour gummy candy. it's tart but still sweet and lovely! the musk brings a heady-ness to the candy scent and it's looovely. it's not sensual at all but that's fine because sometimes all you need is to smell like sour candy!

this is a really fun scent! the description wasn't lying when it said it was a fruit roll up, it smells exactly like a fruit roll up or gusher with a hint of sweet pepper. it actually took a bit for the pepper to come out, I received my imp order at the end of april and only lately has the pepper started to show itself when I wear it. I'm very happy it did decide to come around because I love pepper in my perfumes, it's fantastic. this is just a supe sweet candy scent with a bit of a peppery burn at the end. it's great!

I absolutely love this blend, definitely my favorite of the lupers I ordered and I definitely have to get a full bottle. right off the bat its a sweet cream-y just barely ripe peach. it's very subtley floraly in a way that I can't really pick out each flower but it is very much there. it's just so gorgeous. amazing balance of creamy and fruity with a hint of florals. if you like peaches and cream do yourself a favor and get this.

ugh SO BEAUTIFUL. absolutely gorgeous. I swear this smells like a bath and body works soap I've used before. it's predominantly guava and sweet cream. the fig and guava both bring a fantastic tartness that brings this scent full circle. a super well rounded creamy fruity scent. definitely a top 3 luper of the 10 imps I ordered from ajevie

~~frimp review~~ wow this is nice! freshly on, it's super woodsy/naturey. the pine is really nice without smelling like a christmas tree. there's a hint of spice, and i'm not familiar enough with the notes to firmly place it, but it's a tad winter pinecone-y (in a good way, i like how those smell so good to me). after a few minutes, it settles as a nice woodsy scent with the hint of spice still there. it's almost rootbeer-esque. pretty good!
-
~~frimp review~~ fresh on, it smells really clean in a way, but also grandma-y. definite example of florals turning old and powdery and a bit stale. it calms down essentially immediately though and doesn't last in the grandma phase for long. it becomes darker, violet (i'm guessing) and sandalwood with a hint of musk is what it settles down into. about half an hour later it stays very similar to that it's super fragrant and has a pretty good throw imo. there's an aura around me. it's a nice scent but not one i'd wear necessarily even though i'm a huge floral lover. maybe my opinion will change on a revisit!
-
this has settled for a few weeks now, so here's my speedrun at reviewing the weenies I received before they're gone from the shop. first off, the throw is INSANE, which I appreciate greatly. freshly on the backs of my hands, it's smokey and charred, like a bonfire or the smell from a grill. It's got a hint of sweetness, a sweet smoke, and it's not dry. kind of smells like incense due to the sweet amber + smoke. I wish I could make out the pepper more, which was the primary reason I picked this scent, since I LOVE pepper in my perfumes (shoutout to Glossier You). it's more peppery in the bottle, so I know it's there. the cinnamon-y nature of the blood note comes out a bit and adds an extra layer of yum. just so yum.

I adore this scent, I'm very glad I picked it up. all I smell is unripe peaches, slightly sour. I had an ornamental peach tree in my backyard since I was little, and the peaches it bore were never sweet, always unripe and sour. that's exactly what this is. it's very refreshing and something different. I can't pinpoint any of the herbs specifically, but it's all just unripe peaches. so lovely

totally not biased because bears are my favorite animal....not at all in the bottle: it smells really sweet, and of berries and honey. it's also kind of herbally, but I can't pinpoint anything specific. on fresh: wow, one drop of this goes a LONG way. it is so potent and strong compared to other scents I've tried. it's very musky and I can clearly smell bark and leaves, as well as a smoky campfire. the honey sweetness is definitely still here, just weaker, making it so it doesn't go completely off the edge. it's a dry scent of a campfire in the woods, exactly like how your clothes and hair would smell after being around the campfire. can't really distinguish the berry here. it's dry but warm, not cold as the snow note would suggest. after 20 minutes: this really hasn't changed at all. I think the smokiness became a bit stronger, but it's the same sweet campfire scent. it's really nice and autumnal to me. wish I could get more of the berry but this is an interesting scent that is very true to its inspiration!

gorgeous, amazing, beautiful, fantastic, lovely, spectacular, perfect. this is my first hair gloss and the product itself is not the best for my hair. my hair gets greasy easily so this causes my freshly-washed ungreased hair to become oily. I also don't like getting product all over my pillowcase so I only use it on days where I plan to wash my hair since I shower in the evening. I do love how long-lasting it is, and I often use it when I'm doing work in the lab or at the beach where my hands would constantly be in water/being washed [stripping away my perfume oil : ( ] so I can still smell something nice throughout the day. moving my head even a bit gives me a nice whiff, I feel like there's a scent aura around my head. regardless, this scent is truly delightful. it's extremely sweet, and from the bottle it smells like starburst it's so sweet. on hair, the dominant note is the creamy mango (which I was looking for in a perfume which lead me to choose this over Gentle Hands) with a bit of the mandarin. it's not prominent, but I undeniably smell a bit of citrus mingling with the mango which is very pleasant. if you like mango cream, this is a must.

ugh. wow. wow wow wow. beautiful and amazing. I adore rose. this is the scent I keep coming back to the most in my (small) collection. so happy I picked this up. I usually wait longer to write reviews for scents, but I've had this for a month now and it's still in stock so I have to try to convince rose lovers. another side note, I adore the label art. I love all of the Moons art, and this one is no exception. in the bottle, it is super sweet! cherryish mixed with rose. very lovely. now on wet, it's much more floraly, majority rose with a hint of something dark/spicy in the background, probably the winer. kind of like a burning rose-scented candle. the dragon's blood is beautiful and really contributes to the wick-burning scent I'm getting. I can't specifically pick out the incense, myrhh, or tabac (mainly cause I don't completely know what those smell like) but I assume they contribute to the dark scent. it very quickly eases up and becomes less harsh, more candy-like and sweeter. 20ish mins later, it's just very much rose. rose all around. one of the few bpal florals that hasn't turned grandma perfume on me (thank god). the wine makes this scent a bit sexy and elegant. the end result isn't very overwhelming, smoky, or extremely dark, just rose with a hint of wine. a lot of the notes don't come through which is more than fine for me since the drydown is beautiful. I can't stop sniffing my hands! ahh! rose lovers get this now!

~~frimp review~~ the smell out of the imp bottle kinda shocked me, I could really smell the hazelnut! on wet: I can definitely still smell it, but it's accompanied by a very dark presence. it smells like smoke, trees, and a bit of spice. again, not what I immediately expected from the notes. dried down: it smells mostly the same, not really a shifter. very green and woody with a hint of smoke and hazelnut. pretty earthy (reminds me of Tombstone a bit but don't quote me on it!). it's a nice scent but not one I'd reach for or upgrade. as always I'm thankful for the opportunity to smell it. definitely can't say it smells like urine.... so sorry for all of you who this scent (or any) turns foul on : (

~~frimp review~~ pretty delightful. I can't really pick anything out, but this smells like basalm and a bit herbaly, as well as slowly becoming smokier over time. definitely very fitting of a description. I wouldn't normally have picked this out but, like most other frimps, is a delight to smell. I do tend to like blends with myrrh in them anyways. I really don't know what else to say, I'm at a loss for words describing this scent other than it smells regal and a bit complex for such few notes now dried, it's kind of still the same. it's a bit overwhelming to my nose now though. still smoky/incensey, slightly herbally fitting the description. like I said, this one's kind of hard to describe but it seems like it's more than than sum of it's parts.
-
~~frimp review~~ bpal at it again with the patchouli. on wet, it is patchouli central. I can definitely immediately pick up the orange blossom as a little hit on citrus. it's a bit musky and slightly sweet from the florals. maybe I'm just hungry but it smells kind of like froot loops in milk but less sweet. I'm certain that's thanks to the orange blossom. the orange really comes through after a few minutes and it's a musky, patchouli citrus. once dried, it smells more or less the same. orangey patchouli once again. it's nice, but not really one I'd want to upgrade to a full bottle.
