I expected something more resinous because of the frakincense note, but it is in fact more of a designer men’s leather aromatic perfume with a dark twist. This is my initial impression: It starts off with a blast of very fine black pepper generously sprinkled on top of something akin to Trussardi’s Black Extreme. It then reveals its more “civil” facet. No longer just yelling slogans to rile up his listeners, the devil begins to make his case. The dry down is a much more quiet version of snooty bat’s black leather. The fragrance maintains its bitter aspects through the entire journey, a reminder of his deep hatred and envy.

I can't reall distinguish all the florals and green plants in perfumery, but I pick up on an almost aquatic background, with smoky violets and green notes. Definitely smells like the cutted stem of flowers. It's very atmospheric, fits the painting very well, and my appreciation for it only increases the more I wear it. I'd only apply a little, since the green note is quite dominating and could make me nauseous.

Agree with @em_h, starts off green and spicy. It calms down and is grounded by the sweetness, morphing into a hippie wooden furniture store scent, heavy on the sandelwood. It's not an atmospheric scent though, it's got that classic sweet and thick BPAL DNA. Intimate throw.

I got a decant of 2023 version and a full size of the 2024 version. The 2023 version is much sweeter and warmer, the patchouli was more earthy. The 2024 version was way less sweet and dominated by a medicinal patchouli and carneferous notes. Didn't know they will vary so much year to year. I prefer the former.

Reminds me a little bit of Chanel Anteus. I think it’s the desolate Labdanum. It becomes more wearable at the dry down.

Love this scent so much, such a hidden gem. But my skin just eats it up and no one can smell it after an hour.

I got this from a decant circle in ‘23. I usually enjoy pine, I love it in Dior Granville and Serge Lutens Parole d’eau, so I’m surprised when I didn’t like this. It’s been sitting for a year and still somehow smells like oysters? It’s mineralic. It’s possible it was labelled wrongly.

To me this is just a white bar of soap, from the bottle to the dry down. If I’m really reaching, this might have a drop of The Body Shop’s Spa of the World Brittany Coast Algae Shower Gel?

I've never tried mushroom scents before this and I don't usually like florals. A first I though it smelled weird and musty. But after letting it sit for a while and getting more familiar, I found this elegant, naturally sweet, and transportive. There's a surprising clarity for a dirt fragrance. Its more like garden dirt than grave dirt. This is a gateway drug to fungi and earthy notes - weird but a bit perfumey and wearable.

Took me some time to get used to this one, and now I genuinely like it! It’s a unique sweet and leathery fragrance. Cool people wear this fragrance. I’m not too cool so I can only wear it sometimes.

This is not how I imagined it to smell. I agree with user little bird: this is very sharp in bottle and on me. It’s like there’s lots of heat from the ginger + something very animalic. I suppose snake oil doesn’t smell like this at all, because I don’t pick up the vanilla notes

What should I get if I like Destroying Angel? It’s a unique but wearable earthy mushroom/ floral. if there’s nothing quite similar, what are some unique but wearable natural scents, ideally with good longevity?

Can someone inform me on what notes are in this? I don’t usually like lavender because it smells too green, herbal and kinda harsh, but TK Snow is soft and pillowy. It also smells very similar to my favourite perfume - Balm Bomb, by another indie brand. Their notes are lavender, oakmoss, vanilla, musk, amber. But is there something more in here?

Is this what traditional bay rum smells like, or a sweeter interpretation by the lab?

Having watched narrated video about this fragrance on YouTube, I could’ve never imagined it to translate so well into a perfume. But moreover, I didn’t know a perfume can smell this cold. First impressions in the bottle: Spicy and salty handwash On skin: I don’t know enough about perfume or literature to make the best analogy, but the videogame Who’s Lila could smell like this. There’s an attempt at deception with its sweetness, like someone pulling off a practiced standard yet hollow smile, but you can just feel the chill they emanate, and they know you know that something is so very wrong. You’re certain that in their humble wooden house, now filled with the dissonant smell of cleaning products used by hospitals, they have hid something very gruesome. But both of you prefer to act like everything is just fine. So yeah, this is my interpretation of it after reading descriptions and tones of reviews about it. So it’s not the fairest review. All in all, it is a very cold scent that I can’t stop sniffing, and I’ve become more aware of that disinfectant smell in my life now.
