As a confirmed lover of Jasmine, I was so ready for this one. It’s stronger than expected, which for me is a good thing. I get to save more for myself! Mwahahaha. ↜(⃔ ◞•᷅௰•᷄)⃕◞ I love the spices once they settle down. They’re a bit forward, to the point of nearly being bitter, but after a few minutes of dry down time its wonderful. It has this antique, aged character to it in the best possible way.

I’m torn on this one! The cherry to me smells like candy, not fresh. Maybe that’s just the sugary sweetness of the actual suganiyot facet to this blend playing tricks on me. Regardless, on the skin the bakery/spice/pastry elements come into play, and I like those very very much. I’ll probably be returning to this in the colder months, but alas I am in sunny Califonia where the sun has already come out to play for the year. The heat could also do interesting things with the cherry though… Guess I’ll just have to try it out when the heat’s really amping up. ✌️

I’m gonna be honest, I’ve never smelt or tried snake oil before, and bought this variant on impulse during the holidays. I love hot toddies. In the bottle, I hated it, really disliked it. I was super off-put and noted to not try another snake. I kept opening it every week or so to take a whiff, and scrunch up my face. My feelings on it did not change at all. I thought “well, I guess Snake Oil isn’t for me” Turns out I’m just a total dope, and it smells wonderful on the skin. As soon as it hits my skin it’s properly diluted and smells the way it’s meant to. It’s spicy and herbal, and a bit whiskey-y. The lemon is so mild, it just smells like someone’s twisted a peel into the oil, and dropped it in. No juice. just like a Hot Toddy! My s/o’s thoughts on this scent were: - it smells like a victorian home he used to live in - it very particularly is reminiscent of the smell of weeds in Illinois. very, very interesting and evocative notes from him. Take them as you will!

This one is a head scratcher for me, got a 2023 bottle! I know there’s a lot of contention surrounding the play-doh-iness that some people seem to pick up on. That’s all I really seem to smell, opening up the bottle. It’s almost salty! I’m not getting any of the florals out of this I was hoping for. I’m gonna leave this bottle alone in hopes it will age into something more for me over time. Cheers and happy new years!

My very first bottle pick from BPAL. It's a nice, clean and refreshing floral, it definitely has a bit of sweetly humid and juicy quality to it. This I attribute to that plum note. The daffodil comes through wonderfully, and gives this blend more of a fresh cut wildflower kick, at least to me, rather than a well trimmed and curated (western) garden. I've had my bottle for only about a month now, but the scent hasn't varied much since it initially settled from shipping. Works for me! we'll see how it fares as time wears on. This isn't a scent that evolves much on the skin for me, although the plum does fade a little faster than the rest... I'm only just getting into BPAL, but the community is great fun, and this bottle was a fantastic introduction for me to the company! I've got more coming, so I'm looking forward to writing up more about the scents that make a lasting impression. I can definitely see myself repurchasing this one once it begins to run out. I dumped 1ml into a travel bottle, which may have been a mistake, as I often find myself mindlessly habitually reapplying it, and it's starting to disappear! aaaaahhh!
