I love Blood Kiss! Yum. I'm terrible at recognizing scent notes, but in the bottle, I get the scent of the cherry liqueur in chocolate covered cherries (the good ones, where there's a hint of cacao in the cherry scent). As it dries, it settles into honey, cherry, musk and vanilla. Wow, this is amazing. Potent, yes, I agree with Sjofn, but I have no sense of restraint. Let the slathering commence.

Batty Hunger is driving me batty. What component in the perfume can do this? Maybe the leather? In the bottle, I get fruity sweetness with an ozone undertone. On my skin it's slightly sweet laughing gas with an undertone of melon. I've tried it a couple times. Maybe it's skin chemistry, or maybe it needs to age? Back in the box to age and see if it changes. Will update if it changes. EDITED 7/11/24: Okay, it's starting to morph a bit. Now it's less laughing gas, no melon, a bit of sweetness but it's still leather-strong. Sadly, leather notes never smell good on me. I think Batty Hunger will smell very different on someone else and I want them to have the chance to find out.

In the imp and when it's wet, I get a strange antiseptic scent. Dry, the antiseptic fades out fast. Goes to sweet vanilla, mint and cream, and something heady and rich and empowering. Within half an hour it's allll gone -- my skin eats it. Love it. I added some of it to my Hair Loosened & Soiled in Mid Orgy hair gloss, and wow, that's good stuff.

In the imp, it smells sweet (I couldn't pick out any specific notes). On / dry, I get sweetness, vanilla and honey. It doesn't last long, after half an hour it's too faint to smell unless I bury my nose in my wrist. It's one I'd be willing to carry around to slather it on a few times a day.

Blood Orange, Ylang Ylang, & Lime
quantquill replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
I love ylang ylang, blood orange, and lime. Such a win for all three scents. Wet and in bottle: orange orange orange orange Dry: Ylang ylang serves as a shim to keep the orange table from wobbling, with a slice of lime left out on the table top. Love it! Wish the ylang ylang came out stronger but I'll definitely take it.- 4 replies

My first review! I'm soooo sad that it's not a positive one. I love every scent listed for Lavender Plum Galette, and unfortunately it smells like pickle juice, in the bottle and on the skin. Wet: pickle juice Dry: pickle juice Dry + 2 hours: sour and something else I can't name, maybe uncooked dough from the flaky crust? I've tried it twice, a month apart. Both times it goes instantly to pickle juice and stays there. I'm a BPAL newbie and have seen lots of advice about letting these rest, so I'll put it back in the box and try again in a month or so. Fingers crossed! ETA: It's June 29, and sadly, the smell hasn't changed on me (though the scent is beginning to mellow in the bottle, which probably means at some point in the future, it will be heavenly). I think I'll let someone else age it like a fine wine in their collection. 8-)
