Back in the day I loved Crowley. It started as all leather and sex, but the musk went wild on my skin and became too harsh. It broke my heart. Oddly enough, my mom loved it and it smelled amazing on her, so I gave her my bottle and bought her a few bottles after that whenever she ran out. She was a slatherer, so she ran out often. She eventually moved on to other scents and stopped wearing Crowley. She still loved it, but had just moved on to other things.
Mom passed in 2022, and I miss her so much. I added Crowley to my most recent order, partially for nostalgia and also to see if it still went wrong on my skin. Either Crowley has changed, or my skin chemistry has changed, or my scent memory isn't nearly as good as I thought, because it smells very different on my skin now. I really feel like the formulation has changed, because I remember it smelling different in the bottle before. I liked it better in the bottle before, much better, but it's more wearable on my skin now, although less exciting. On my skin there's no leather, no sex, not even any overpowering all-consuming musk. There's just a pleasant nonoffensive cologne smell. It's nice, but just nice is not what I wanted from Crowley. I wanted the naughty too. Once again Crowley has broken my heart.
I'm going to let Crowley age and I'll revisit him later.
