I get severe headaches. This is cold and clear and everything I hoped it would be. Some great spruce/fir scents come too close to Pine-Sol; this one is sharp and crisp and wintry but with enough floral to make it a perfume rather than a single scent. Think a single white crocus pushing through the snow under an old pine tree. I think I'll order another bottle before the LE is over.

This is the first BPAL I've had the courage to buy blind, without getting an imp first. I'm so glad I did. I don't have the sophisticated nose many of you have. To me, Cold Moon has a white-flower base, but it's prickly to the nose. It makes me think of fir boughs under snow. It's a lovely winter scent, and I'm glad I took the risk.

Unlike any other rose perfume I've loved. Before this, my favorite was Yves San Laurent Paris. Paris is shooting for a very different effect-- pure rose blossoms, drowning in the petals and nothing but. Rose Red is the whole rose, green leaves included. It goes on fresh. I asked my husband to sniff it, and he said "Very complex." On my skin, alas, it's fugitive -- no more than a couple of hours. I really, really wish I'd bought two bottles. Add this one to the year-round list, please! ADDED Feb. 17: My officemate walked into my office, sniffed, and said "Are there fresh roses here somewhere?" I had to work to convince him that no, it was my perfume; the illusion is that convincing. Oh, please, please make this scent a regular.

On my skin, this was eucalyptus and nothing else. I like the smell of eucalyptus trees after a rain, when they've dropped branches and leaves, but on my skin it's too intense.
