This is a pretty fragrance- it starts out a bit on the sharp side but quickly mellows with magnolia and jasmine. As beautiful as it is, it doesn't last very long. I would need to slather this one to keep it around for more than a few hours. I do like it though.

In the imp: Fruit, but oh, so sour. The tang reminds me of Sweet Tarts candy. Wet: Sweet Tarts with wine poured over them. Dry: The tang is still there but very demurely so. I am picking up fruit so ripe that in a day it will begin to rot. There is a bit of deep red rose in there too. This is very very nice. I can't stop sniffing my wrist.

In the imp: Deliciously sweet, but with a bite. Wet: Sandalwood, soft and exotic, blending with something warm and sweet. I am almost thinking something on the order of jasmine or gardenia sweet. Dry: Gorgeous. Spicy. Sweet. Warm. Wow. I love this like no other.

In the Imp: Cedar Wet: CEDAR!!!! Dry: Cedar has given way to a lovely incense-y amber. It is warm and snuggly. 14 hours later: The cedar returns. Softly, but still there in all its hamster cage glory. If this scent would stay in the "dry for an hour" stage, I would LOVE it. Alas, I do not want to smell like a hamster cage at the end of the day.

In the imp: Almond Wet: Cherry joining the almond- I agree with the poster who mentioned it smelling like the original Jergen's lotion. I am surprised I haven't inhaled my entire arm. Dry: The cherry almond is gone- I am left with a heady incense musk, darkly inviting and definitely a night scent.

Wow In the imp, wet and dry, I pick up mainly a rich honey scent. It stays and stays and is just gorgeous. This is possibly the first and only BPAL fragrance that has remained true from imp opening to 16 hours later... There are not enough words to describe how I love this.

This reminds me of an old Faberge fragrance (showing my age here- I think I last wore Woodhue and Tigress in the late 60s)... In the imp: Mild and sweet. I detect some citrus. There's something else lurking in the background that is pungent (patchouli maybe? Musk?) Wet: Grapefruit and bergamot- Musk coming to the front. Dry: Woody, musky and plastic. I am getting sneezy and have the beginnings of a headache.

In the imp: Rose and something almost herbal are the only things I pick up. Wet: More rose, overpoweringly rose. Dry: Guess? ROSE. What is interesting is that every other sniff gives me a little bit of apple peel scent. But the apple isn't cutting into the rose anywhere near enough to make me want to try this again. It reminds me of something very Victorian. Definitely not me.

Ick. In the imp: Very grassy Wet: Cedar Dry: Cedar shavings and bandaids Ick.

In the imp: Not much of anything- maybe mild floral. Wet: I smell VIOLET!! This morphs me back to the early 60s- maybe something my grandmother wore or a cologne she bought for me. It's very strong but this is not a bad thing. I LOVE it. Dry: The violet is still there but another flower is stepping up. Lavender? I do like this one a lot.

In the imp: Kind of foody but with a hint of furniture polish. I smell figs and lemons? Wet: LEMONHEADS candy!! Sweet and sour lemon. Overpowering. Dry: Now it's gone incense-y, but there's a plastic crayon thing going on in the background. Interestingly, sniffing different spots on my arm produces different variations of this fragrance. Incense in one spot, honey in another... Definitely a keeper- I want to try this again and see if there is any change.

In the Imp: Minty furniture polish. It smells like someone dumped mint into a bottle of Pledge. Weird. Wet: Not so polishy... still mint and maybe lemon now? Dry: Thankfully this dried soft and spicy floral. I don't detect mint or citrus anymore. I like it but it is not very strong. (although my Voodoo (best cat in the universe) was a very laid back Zen boy, so maybe the fragrance is appropriate after all)

In the imp: Sharp grapefruit Wet: Still sharp, but some saltiness coming through now. Dry: If I were standing in the ocean, about to take a bite of sugar sprinkled grapefruit, and a wave hit me right as I bit down. The citrus is much tamer and sweeter. There is a briny quality that comes and goes. This is one of the most interesting scents I have tried so far. I think a bottle is in order.

In the imp: Floral, soft and pretty Wet: Flowery still but a little spicy too Dry: Barely there- very spicy now but very understated and quiet.

In the Imp: Smoky incense with a smattering of dirt thrown in for good measure. Wet: Spice drops have been dumped into the burning incense. Dry: Still spicy, still smoky, but now there's cedar coming to the forefront. This would probably be lovely on a man. Not for an old lady, though. Buh-bye, Baron.

In the imp: Bubble gum, the kind that is loaded with sugar and will rot your teeth in no time. Wet: Very sweet. Dry: Wow. The amber and sandalwood are warm and inviting. I love this! I need multiple bottles. How many bottles equal a vat? Can I buy it by the gallon?

A lot of previous reviews mention incense and vetiver, smoke and cinnamon. I smell not a single one of these. In the imp: Sharp and unpleasant. Wet: Cedar. Dry: I can describe this fragrance on me in 2 words-- HAMSTER CAGE.

Absolutely beautiful but very short lived (on my skin, anyway) In the imp: honey and carnation Wet: Floral bouquet, drizzled in honey and milk Dry: Gone. Nada. Zip. Zilch. (boo, hiss!)

FINALLY After a day of 'ew, get it off,' I tried Cordelia. In the Imp: Lilac, strong and clear Wet: Lemon... furniture polish. Please change into something else. Please. Dry: Wow. I pick up peppery lemon now. And Cedar. And lilac still in lurking. I would have thought that I wouldn't care for anything with cedar in it but this fragrance is so complex. I like it. ETA: 14 hours later, Cordelia is soft and incense-ish.

For Pete's sake. I am batting a big fat zero today. I washed off one fragrance this morning because it was noxious and put on Anne Bonny. She reminds me of fingernail polish in a plastic bottle. This one got washed off too. I am going to hold onto the imp and try it again in a few months. Maybe it's me. I feel rather plastic/fingernail polish-y today. Ugh.

I've read the reviews. I wish I could report that I like this fragrance. Unfortunately, it smells like bug spray in the imp, wet AND dry. That is the only way I can describe it. I found it harsh, acrid and sharp. Incredibly unpleasant. It's the first that I have had to wash off. Yuck.

In the imp: Bitter, salty. Wet: Still salty, but floral coming through. Dry: Whiterosepetals said it and I agree- I smell like a plumeria lei on a Hawaiian beach. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Another winner in the soft but compelling contest. In the imp: I smell lovely lavender, but without the bite that lavender sometimes gives my nostrils. Wet: Lavender and incense. Musky almost. Dry: The incense is stronger and the lavender faded but it is still a soft pretty fragrance. I would love for my room to smell like this.

This fragrance is just beautiful. It is sunshine and gentle breezes over dainty flowers. It is delicate and sweet innocence, but it has serious staying power. It lingers for hours, shy and yet determined. I was asked the name of the scent by several people. Lovely.

This is just gorgeous!!! In imp: Gingery Wet: Well, now I smell like patchouli. Spicy. Dry: The ginger is back and it's sweet and spicy and warm and just gorgeous. I LOVE this scent.
