In imp: Bitter- something pungent and powerful. Wet: Now it's just totally smoke. Dry: Another transformation- no bitterness. No smoke. Just white floral powder. This reminds me of an Avon scent from long time past. It would be slightly unpleasant except the powder scent brings back some nice childhood memories.

In the imp: Roses, nothing more. I only WISH I got cherry, almond, cinnamon or any of the other scents that people talk about. Wet: More rose- fast turning soapy. Dry: Rose soap. Reminds me of Victorian times. Definitely not for me.

In the bottle: Carnation with something sharp. Wet: Extreme floral. Carnation not so much. Come back! Dry: My beloved carnation has returned. That and vanilla, with a little sweet pea, are what I smell now. It's a little soapy, but I don't mind at all. I like it.

Did not think I would like this one because it smells very grassy in the bottle. However, once it's on my wrist, I pick up night blooming jasmine. After it's dried, it becomes very soft but has good staying power. I am glad I got a bottle.

In the imp: YUCK. I detect sharp grassy notes (vetiver?) and nothing else. Wet: Now I can smell vanilla. But I can barely smell it or anything else for that matter. It's almost like I don't have anything on at all. Weird. Dry: (Note to self- do NOT put more of this on because you don't smell it on your wrist wet. It gets stronger as it warms up and dries) Holy moly, it's wonderful. Lovely Snake Oil and warm vanilla. Exotic. Husky. Enticing.

In the imp: Stinging and sharply cold. Floral with a few razor blades hidden in. Wet: Very floral, still a little on the sharp side. Warming up some, too. Dry: Stays floral, but the sharp aspect is gone. There is something beneath the surface but I don't know what it is. This scent did not last long on me. I can barely detect it now (8 hours later). I like it.

In the imp: grassy, almost unpleasant Wet: patchouli coming through now- still grassy sharp, though. Dry: WOW. I love what happened to this scent. It deepened and is very purry. The patchouli and amber and quite warm and sweet. I bet this would make a lovely room fragrance. Definitely a winter scent. I am happy to have snagged a bottle before the Muses are discontinued.

In the Bottle: The main thing I pick up is butter... so much butter that it is making me slightly nauseous. Wait. I suppose that is pumpkin waaaaay in the background. Wet: More butter. Honey? (I guess that's the beeswax but it smells more like honey than wax to me) Dry after about 30 minutes: The butter is gone and what is left is a sweet pumpkin pie spice fragrance with a tiny bit of wax thrown in for good measure. It is dissipating fairly quickly. Not for me.

Impy: I detect something foody- definitely sticky sweet. Caramel? I suppose it's the patchouli speaking. I like it but it catches in the back of my throat. I don't know if I can wear it. Wet: I only dabbed a little of this on my wrist (seeing how dark it is and how thick it looks) Overcoming my hesitation to sniff, I now get play doh and chocolate. WTF? Dry: Someone in one of the first reviews compared this scent to Shalimar. ABSOLUTELY. It is heavy but sensuous. Voluptuous. Luxurious. Not to be slathered but oh, mama...

In the imp: Nothing to say that hasn't been said already- this is lily, pure and simple. Wet: Lily in the foreground, but there's something else there, a little darker and heavier, spicy. Dry: This one retains its spicy floral fragrance well. 10 hours later it is as strong as when I first put it on. I would agree with a previous poster in that this is not a slathering scent. Use it sparingly.

Imp, wet and dry are all the same for this scent for me- I am in the middle of the biggest rose garden ever created. Every single bush is dripping with pink blossoms. It's hot and humid and the air is ripe with heavy rose scent. Rose Rose Rose and Rose. Nothing more, nothing less.

In the bottle: Sweet jasmine with something dark underneath- maybe a heavy vanilla Wet: Sharp grapefruit... and gorgeous jasmine Dry: Jasmine and vanilla- this is just lovely... AND it just lasts and lasts. 16 hours after application, I can still smell it. Yum. More bottles of this for me NOW.

In the imp: Spicy- myrrh? Wet: Rose comes blaring out at me. Dry: Spicy powder, sort of reminds me of Opium powder... and is making me slightly queasy. This is one of the soon to be discontinued blends. I wish I liked it enough to buy a bottle. No can do.

In the Bottle: creamy nog goodness... nutmeg and cream Wet: More of the spice comes out and the cream fades a little Dry: Where'd it go? Faint play doh smell remains. Oh well. They can't ALL be winners for me.

In the bottle: spring floral- I can't pick out anything in particular, just flowers Wet: Soft floral Dry: Soap- Irish Spring Soap, to be exact.

In bottle: Kahlua... have to restrain from sipping Wet: Cocoa absolut... have to restrain from licking Dry: Chocolate chai... have to restrain from walking about with my nose welded to my wrist This is pure chocolate spice goodness. I will be getting several bottles of this before the Carnaval leaves town. Beth, can you possibly sell this by the vat?

In the bottle: Sharp Wet: I sang at a funeral years ago and stood next to the organ in a screened area behind the casket. The scent of all the wreaths was powerful and the smell of this oil on my skin threw me right back into that room again. It is not unpleasant at all- it is just the scent of a funeral parlor. Dry: Carnation carnation carnation and mums in the background. I also detect a little soap. I like the overall effect but I think it is not a slathering scent. This one screams for dainty dabbing only.

In bottle: Burnt sugar Wet: BUG SPRAY!!! YUCK!!! but since I was already on my way out, I did not have time to wash it off which is good because Dry: Settled to spice and carnation with no hint of obnoxious at all, very heady and voluptuous fragrance, definitely a winter perfume.

I have to admit that reading the first batch of reviews on Privilege made me wonder if I had gotten something else. Then I read further down a bit and started picking up the "green" comments. (sigh of relief) In the Bottle: The prior description of rotting lettuce is pretty close to what I experienced. Extremely grassy and astringent. I didn't open the bottle again for a few days. Wet: Same grassy ickiness. My untrained nose could pick up nothing else. Dry: Now here's where it turned floral and soft. Not terribly sweet- it did evaporate fairly quickly and I was left with nothing at all... but that's the point of privilege, isn't it? I don't see this as an everyday or signature fregrance, but I do like it. (this is my first review- I hope to pick up more descriptive language AND the nose to know what I'm talking about soon) EDIT: 2 years later, the perfume has lost its offensive edge. It is a beautiful floral that stayed on my wrist all night long. My cat Leo liked it well enough. He usually demands a pet when I settle down for sleep. He got a whiff of the Privilege and latched onto my arm. Go figure.
