Fruit cocktail comes immediately to mind on application. I do get a whiff of ketchup in the background... happily that does not linger. The end result is fizzy fruit.
-
Neat-o! This is very pretty. Floral with a green kick. Fresh and clean and brisk. I like it.

Oh, Gods, no. Hermia starts off wet smelling like someone dumped a carafe of butter on me. Just about the time I stop reeling from that, the pepper jumps in and goes straight for my sinuses. Several minutes and multiple sneezes later, it turns to bug spray. It is harsh and sharp and I gotta wash this off NOW. And the sad thing is that every so often, a mild whiff of something fruity and light comes to the surface... only to be batted back to the depths by the BUG SPRAY. OFF OFF OFF!!! NOW!!!

Chaos Theory V: Recursive Self-Similarity v2

CXXXIV Wet, this just smells odd. I can't describe it other than to say that it smells like dried saliva. On drydown... the weird smell is getting stronger and it is making me sick. Fortunately, I got a phone call right as I was getting up to go wash it off. After about 10 minutes, that odor evaporates and it is now just honey and amber with a little bit of vanilla in the background. While it is pleasant now, the end result is not worth the stink in the beginning. -
Wet: Luscious tropical flowers- very heady and strong. Jasmine, maybe? Dry: First turns to generic men's cologne... and then gets that icky chemical edge that reminds me of hairspray in an aerosol can. Too bad, because I really liked it at first.

I was hoping to like this... and I do. Sort of. What I smell is a clean herbal floral blend. It's nice. But it's not outstanding. Off with you.
-
Wet, this blend is cherry safety suckers. Dry, it is rose rose rose with a hint of carnation.
-
Interestingly enough, I don't find this blend to be soapy in the least. It is a musky floral that gains a spice edge after it dries down. I think I am in love.
-
Happily, the cedar is not prominent in this blend... unfortunately, it ends up being a generic floral. Nice, but not overwhelmingly wonderful. Bye bye.
-
Heliotrope, pomegranate, blackberry, bergamot, and patchouli. This blend is dark patchouli and berries. It is not strong, which could be a good thing since it's the patchouli that is the more powerful. The blend is rich but subdued. Understated but elegant... kind of like true wealth.

I have two words for this blend. Cucumber soap.
-
This smells like face cream. I can detect a little ginger but... yeah, my grandmother's Pond's Beauty Cream.

Singing Moon starts off as dirt. Yippee, don't I just love to smell like I have been rolling around on the ground. Fortunately, that wears off quickly and what emerges is flowers dancing in the ocean breeze. Mildly aquatic and not overpowering except at the beginning dirt stage.

White Chocolate, Strawberry, and White Pepper Truffle
voodoocatwoman replied to thekittenkat's topic in Lupercalia
White chocolate, strawberry, and white pepper truffle. I shouldn't be surprised that I don't care for this scent. I am not a fan of white chocolate but I DO like strawberry, so I was cautiously optimistic. Unfortunately, the strawberry is more synthetic, definitely not the scent of fresh berries. The pepper in the background keeps threatening to make me sneeze. Bye bye, truffle. -

Gah. All this is on me is butter. I hate butter. I don't want to smell like butter. Why can't I smell like grapefruit or cake? No, I have to get butter. Ick ick ick. -
I was a bit nervous about this one because of the description, but I should know by now that these kinds of descriptions don't reall have anything to do with the actual end product. Wet, the Hotel is green. Stems and wet leaves. It dries to a lovely powdery floral. I thought I detected violets in the mix but I can't be sure. All I know is that it is soft and pretty, although it definitely has an aged feeling to it. I love it.

This is an odd scent. It starts out as a sweet floral, which is lovely. Unfortunately, at the very end of the sniff, I get hair product. Hair dye, that chemical sharpness that lets you know without a doubt that you are in a hair salon. Too bad, because the floral is really nice.
-
It starts off with a strong wood note (I didn't detect pine, specifically, just wood, if that makes any sense) but dries to a beautiful soft floral. It is lovely.

White Chocolate, Black Raspberry, and Apricot Cordial Truffle
voodoocatwoman replied to thekittenkat's topic in Lupercalia
This is primarily raspberry with just the barest hint of apricot on me. I smell like I smeared my wrists with some kind of raspberry candy. Not bad if you like raspberries. -
Peppermint Patty- very clean and yummy.

Milk Chocolate and Matcha Green Tea Ganache Truffle

WOOHOO!!! FINALLY a chocolate I can wear!!! OK, not really, because it only retains a hint of chocolate on application for about 60 seconds. But what happens next is remarkable! It turns all lime on me and I love lime. Others, I see, are getting lemon. No cigar- it's all lime, all the time. Unfortunately, it is fading fast, but it is really nice while it lasted. -
I am not sure what happened. Everyone else got gorgeous, stunning or lovely. I didn't even get a rock this time. I just got vomit. This is by far one of the most vile scents I have had on. It is plastic that has been in a garbage dump. Excuse me, I must get this off NOW.

If I can get past the first impression of this, it might turn out to be something wonderful. It starts out as vinegar. I'm thinking it should go on a salad, not my wrist. Then... just as I start for the sink and the soap, cherry comes out. Cherry wine, deep red, almost black. There is the tiniest bit of smoke in the background. This is a very strange but intriguing scent. I like it but that first blast of vinegar is like WHOA.
-
Not for me. THis blend starts out as burnt sugar. It is harsh and almost molasses-like. It dries to currant skins. I will be sending this off to the sale mistress for disposal.

I wonder if my co-workers think I am a lush now. Definite booze prominent in this blend. I get a chocolate but it smells more like a baker's chocolate than anything with any degree of sweetness.
