Morocco must be what Heaven smells like. I could bathe in this perfume, and between my bottle, my bath oil, my hair gloss and the various imps I keep within arms-reach (to re-up.. for that glorious initial hit of clean floral incensey musk) I practically do. In all 20something years I’ve spent visiting Earth, no fragrance has tickled my fancy quite like Morocco. The carnation and sandalwood are smooth and the musk is sensual. Imagine you’re walking through the desert, and you happen upon a small, unassuming building. Hoping for friendly faces, you push the thick velvet curtain aside and step into the cool stone room. As you adjust to the sudden darkness, your eyes are treated to the most erotic scene you’ve ever laid them on. High quality incense burns somewhere in the background, and the spicy scent of carnations wafts towards you from the gorgeous bouquet placed on the table nearby. Someone from the pile of limbs and plush pillows beckons to you. Something inside you says “we should stay here forever”. Sillage: Strong- I get compliments on this one frequently! Wear time: 6-8 hours, hair gloss closer to 10!!

This one made me feel sick to my stomach- I couldn’t bear having it on. I’d describe it as something between “death” and “craft store at halloween”. My skin loves and I mean loves bpal blends so I know this isn’t a skin chem issue- this one just isn’t for me and that’s okay!!

I am absolutely in love with this!!! Aaaa!! The cherrywood is sweet and warm, the lace balances the woody note out and the dried pink and white tea roses lighten the whole shebang up. I find this so soooo romantic and it really does have a gorgeous vanilla presence in it that does push it close to “tea roses & lace” territory with just a touch of warm vanillic woods… so I really think fans of laces and woods and rose would love this…

This is honestly freaking gorgeous. Somehow it’s like spicy (which I think is the sandalwood and chamomile teaming up with the bergamot) but it’s so sweet and ethereal I honestly adore it. The vanilla unfolds so delicately and warmly like 5 minutes into initial wear and just sweetens the whole deal. This is definitely Chamomile and Vanilla forward, with sandalwood and bergamot playing coyly in the background. Something about this… and no one freak out please… reminds me STRONGLY of OG Dorian. That is just my nose and it has been a bit since i’ve smelled OG but. I wore this with Aasimar and it was looovely! Edit: the glorious combo of sugary and kind of woody plus the chamomile gave me a strong impression of “candied” vanilla-floral at first, but it really does die down to a halo of soft, warm, skin-scent adjacent vanilla that doesn’t lean too sweet or cloying. Really really lovely. Wear time: 10-11 hours Sillage: stronk

I totally agree w/ the fairy face powder assessment!!! This is the sweet and silky (kind of porcelain/powdered) vanilla from violet & vanilla chiffon rounded out by a milky oakmoss. I love the sheer green ambergris. I don’t get much patchouli which is absolutely alright with me because right now this is a sweet, milky, pale green fragrance I forsee myself wearing frequently during the breezy spring days. Wear time: 5-7 hours Sillage: medium cus I definitely catch whiffs frequently

Wow. I wore this for valentines day, and I was mildly hesitant to review it because uhh Fuck that guy but wow I love this scent. It really does smell… chilled. I kept getting whiffs and it smells like cold, wind whipped skin and crisp apples. Something metallic does lurk under the surface, perhaps implying blood under snow. My hands feel cold while smelling it. I am so pleased to have a whole bottle of this and I really cherish it. wear time: 5-6 hours sillage: medium

This is an unbelievably good perfume. I almost can’t believe it exists because it’s just so good. Soft powdered-sugar skin musk, warm dark suede, fresh red roses that start bright, turn jammy, then syrupy, then powdered. I love snake oil because of this wonderful perfume. I am smitten as a kitten right now. I could honestly hoard bottles of this and will be on the hunt for this specific year. Wear time: 7-9 hours Sillage: strong (<3)

I simply don't understand how this isn't more popular!! The cotton candy is so light and airy, the rose is velvety without being cloying. The mint only sticks around for about an hour or two, and after that it's just a perfect, light spun-sugar scent. I love the label art, too! I am so happy about having a bottle, as this is a rare mint that doesn't irritate my skin. I do believe this is a more "summer" perfume, however. It would be the perfect thing to wear to a Carnival, or a county fair. Wear time: 4 ish hours. Sillage: Delicate, but still there!

Oh lovely thank you!! I’m super excited for the luper release! I’ve seen some people posting in the “decant circle” threads for the LA wildfire release, so I’m a little familiar with that and might hit one up! I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for my beloved Nag Champa… or champaca, which smells super similar to me!!

I recently grabbed a bottle of midnight on the midway! Madame moriarty is on my to-buy list as well as… 50 million other things! Thank you guys so much for the recs!!

Edit: This perfume is almost too cold and clean and ghostly for me to wear. It smells like the memory of the way someone smelled. My skin sometimes crawls when I wear it. It’s so atmospheric, I can sense the watery cobwebs in the corners of the metaphorical perfume “room” this perfume conjures. This perfume is white light streaming through dust motes. It’s clean, cold, and powdery. A touch like vintage parfums such as Chanel No.5, maybe perhaps a little bit like fresh laundered cotton. There This does smell ghostly and a little more mature, which is quite apropos to me. It captures the smell of an all-knowing being. I will say that later into its lifespan, it becomes a creamy, clean skin scent with a touch of incense and vanilla. I am so so pleased with this, I smell like a beautiful ghost. Wear time: resting for a little has increased the longevity and sillage. I now get about 6-8 hours! Sillage: still sort of ephemeral but it’s absolutely stronger than it was when first recieved.

This is similar to “My soul acquiesced” but it’s a touch cleaner. This lace has been recently laundered, which is not to say this smells like laundry, but just that it’s a clean, cold vanilla. The rose petals are velvety and the blackcurrant is lending it just a little bit of… tartness? This fragrance has medium throw but lovely lasting power. It floats around me in a very enticing manner. Wear time: 6 ish hours Sillage: medium and ephemeral

You need to know two things about this scent: 1. It is divinely beautiful, outshining nearly all of my other “skin-musk” fragrances. 2. It hangs around for upwards of 20 hours on my skin. The vanilla is creamy, the musk is luminescent and addictive, and the benzoin lends an absolutely incredible depth to it- not “patch” or “wood” or “darkness” in any way, it just gives the whole blend a touch of something a little warmer. This reads as the most cozy and comforting blanket wrapped around your shoulders, which absolutely fits the bill for the perfume’s inspiration. I ordered a backup bottle of this but now wish I’d ordered two. Alas. Wear time: An extremely impressive 20+ hours, considering I didn’t slather it. Sillage: Low-medium but that’s *perfect*

The Red Queen is another BPAL my mom adores, out of her collection it’s probably in the top three most worn slot- which place it takes, I’m unsure, but she blows through bottles of this stuff during winter. To my nose it’s just a woodsier, cherrier version of Lady Macbeth, perhaps that’s due to the currant. I don’t wear this one often, but when I do I think of her. Wear time: 6-8 hours Sillage: Medium

In honour of my recently repaired relationship with my mother, I’m reviewing her signature scent. This is her perfume, it’s what I remember smelling on her before she went out when I was young, what she smelled like on my 21st birthday, what she smelled like the night before she married my stepfather. It’s a scent with a lot of memories for me, to say the least. Ripe, red berries that lean a little too “body spray” on my young hormonal skin, but wow does this stun on her! On her there’s much more sage and thyme, balancing out the absolutely gorgeous red wine note, and the berries are present but are nowhere near as bright and loud as they are on me. I bought her a fresh bottle from the lab pretty recently, and while it does smell wildly good and pretty similar to her 2009 bottle, the aged version of this is truly where it gets magical. Wear time: about 6 hours on me, much longer on her. Sillage: low-medium on me, strong on her.
