I just got a bottle of it. I've been wearing it all evening, and it reminds me of a combination of Snake Oil and Eat Me. Two of my favorites combined!

What BPAL would this fictional character wear?

When I dressed as Inara for Halloween this last year I wore Scherezade. -
Lemon Scented Sticky Bat! If you can find it, Severin has a beautiful lemon on me too!

I wore Scherezade when I went to a Halloween event on Saturday. I was dressed as Inara from Firefly and it just seemed fitting. Today I'm wearing Boo '11.

In the imp it reminded me SO MUCH of a perfume oil I bought in a little store in the French Quarter years and years ago. It was a rainy day, and I was wandering around with my bestfriend. On my skin, it starts with that scent, and then something almost like lime appears briefly, and then it turns to rum. From there it turns to a perfumy scent with dirt on top. I really like it.

Anyone know how long it normally takes to hear back or if there are still any issues with the lab's email? -
The Infernal Lover is my new favorite red musk! I'm dying to try The Soldier because it has it too.

If I want to make sure I don't get lotion, etc, on the wandcap, I kinda hold it at an angle over my wrist and tap on it lightly to make a drop fall off onto my skin. If I'm not wearing lotion, I tend to slather. I've just learned not to put lotion on my wrists...lol. There are also caps you can put on the bottle (I can't remember the name of them right now) that will make the mouth of the bottle much smaller so you could pour a few drops out at a time. If I'm testing an oil, cutting the cotton end of a cotton swab and using the plastic part as a wand works well. This way a fresh one can be used each time.

In the decant it reminds me of Scherezade, which is one of my favorite GC's, with a bit of Smut. It starts out perfect and then kinda fades. The way it fades reminds me a lot of how fresh Scherezade fades. After 3 hours it's barely there and I have to reapply. I can't wait to see how this ages!

Wet: Cinnamon and coffee. It reminds me of El Dia de los Reyes without the chocolate. Dry: A latte with a lot of cinnamon. Still reminding me of El Dia de los Reyes but (without the chocolate) and creamier. Very yummy!

Wet: It reminds me a lot of Gingerbread Poppet, just lighter. I do smell something sweet in it. Dry down: Red Hots layered on top of Gingerbread Poppet. Dry: Gingerbread Poppet plus an earthy pumpkin smell. I still smell a little bit of a sweet juice.

Scents for Depression - when you're down and need a boost
angelicdemise replied to aurore's topic in Recommendations
TAL's Lionheart helped break a very bad depression for me. Just keeping a vial of it with me all the time helps. -
My new bottle of Black Lace is pretty much exactly how I remembered my decant smelling when I first got it (during the original release of Black Lace). The aged decants have AMAZING staying power- I put it on at the beginning of work one day and 9+ hours later when I got home it was still very much there!

I like it but it's too light and fades too fast! I'm hoping that if I let my decant age for awhile that might help it. It reminds me of a lighter version of Dream of the Fisherman's Wife.I like it but it's too light and fades too fast! I'm hoping that if I let my decant age for awhile that might help it. It reminds me of a lighter version of Dream of the Fisherman's Wife. ETA: By "too light" I mean the throw is too light.

I love this one! Incense-y but light, not overwhelming. This is one my favorite BPAL's.
-
On me it's a lighter version of Dirty. I really like it.

The last time I flew with BPAL was coming home from C13, and I just put them in the plastic bag. Though I had other liquids stuff in my purse that I had forgotten was in there (it was an early morning flight, and I went to the airport still drunk without sleeping) that security didn't notice. For just daily carrying, I keep imps in a lipstick case in my purse. I haven't had any problems with that.

Usually rose scents work well on me. Moon Rose didn't It started out with a light, pretty rose scent. Then it turns really sharp and starts to bring back bad memories of Ghost Mist (I wore it when I was about 13-14 just because I liked the name. I disliked the smell). I think I'm kinda allergic to this one because it made my eyes water. After awhile it kinda turned to cat pee on my skin. Meh, I guess not every rose can work on me. There are a few that are omgtodiefor and I guess this just kinda balances them out a bit.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

I'd have to agree with the Sea of Glass, Archangel Winter comparison. Archangel Winter was like a brighter, colder version. -
The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife

Wet, I can smell the honey and mint. On the dry-down the seaweed seems to soften it and blend it all together. The honey reminds me of Hony Mone, just softer. Later on, I love it! It has a sweet musk, and is sexy but not overpowering. If the three Novel Ideas oils that I've tried so far this is by far my favorite! -

Wet, this reminded me of hair care stuff I used to use. On the dry-down, it was kinda sharp. Citrus-y and sharp. Not too terrible, not but great on me. -
On me this is a haunting rose with a bit of cedar underneath. Kinda like dried roses that have been found in an old cedar chest. I love it! It reminds me of memories, not any specific ones, more of the feeling of looking at old pictures. Ones where your grandparents were young and happy.

Mmmmm......church incense! This reminds me so much of the incense at the Eastern Orthodox church, just a bit sweeter. It's mysterious and comforting all at the same time. This is EXACTLY what I'd hoped Cathedral would be. Due to limited funds (I'm moving tomorrow) I can only get a few Lupercalia's, but this will definitely be one of them!!

At first: Mint! With vanilla and a bit of cream underneath. Dry-down: Sugary smell, but a bit plasticy on my skin. It's kinda vanilla-mint-ish. A bit later: I'm noticing the wintergreen. And even later: Vanilla candle. I don't dislike Love's Philosophy, but I don't really love it.
