Sniffing the bottle I can smell the resin, and the rose. It's combined to remind me of my Grandmothers dressing table, with all her beautiful jewellry and perfumes. Heavenly! When on I can smell the sharpness of the sandalwood, this is going really well so far! Mmm, patchouli is coming out to play! Once dry it's not as nice unfortunately. I can't really smell the rose. It just smells like a sharp perfume to me. Not sure if I'll keep this or not. Shame.

Sniffing the bottle I think I can smell the blood, something oddly sweet anyway, maybe a type of perfumed talc. When on it smells a bit grim to be honest, it's reminding me of a toilet which can't be good! The dirt I suspect? The perfumed talc is making a comeback now, booo. Once dry it smells like a moisturising cream, pretty boring. I'll try and swap it for Suck It. If anyone wants this bottle, let me know!

Here is the ritual I used for house hunting: I have a candle which I carve a picture of a house into. I then place it in a green glass bottle which I p uton a plate with salt, sage and rosemary on it. I tie a blue ribbon around the candle and anoint with Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's TAL Road Opener and Perpetuum Bonum before lighting. I ask the angel Chamuel to help find me a house that I can afford and list the specifications that I want. I performed this every night. When talking to estate agents or viewing houses I anoint my heart and crown chakra with Road Opener. Then when finding the house I wanted I also anointed it's paper work. The night I put an offer in for the house I performed the same ritual but this time I played music and anointed my third eye and crown chakras with Road Opener and meditated on my wishes. Our first offer was rejected but our second offer was accepted and was still a couple of thousand below our budget! Result: SUCCESS!

This is mainly about Road Opener, but I did use some Perpetuum Bonum so will write this up. Here is the ritual I used for house hunting: I have a candle which I carve a picture of a house into. OH needed some help. He is working 2 low paying jobs at all sorts of hours. One is an apprenticeship which requires him to go to college. First day of college and he is told that he can't get on for free because he has already been to university. Cue OH panicking about money, needing to quit apprenticeship to find better job. That night I perform a ritual: I have a candle in a green glass bottle which I place on a plate with salt and basil on it. I tie a green ribbon around the candle an anoint with Gainful Employment before lighting. I ask Archangel Michael to help OH find a job that he enjoys and that pays enough to keep us comfortable. Next morning OH goes to work to pick up his money then comes back. It turns out that after only 5 days of him working there, his boss is so impressed that he is willing to pay the £700 needed for his course! Result: SUCCESS!!

I ordered a bottle because I love smoke and myrrh. In the bottle it smells fantastic. Exactly what it is meant to, a dark and cool evening with a bonfire, music and alcohol. When wet the smoke from the vertiver is very heavy as, I suspect, is the rum. I hope it calms down a bit because it is too much even for me. The smokiness has turned quite sharp now, oh dear. From a distance I can smell a smokey alcoholic cherry smell which is quite pleasant. It is still a bit too smokey when dry, however like De Sade, I think this will work well when layered with Black Annis. Verdict: Smokey up close, more smokey alcoholic cherry from afar. Will layer with Black Annis.

I was after a scent similar to Lush's Silky Underwear. In the bottle I can smell a slight creamy powder which I really really like. I just pray the aged florals don't turn to soap. When wet it smells gorgeous, slightly vanillary cream. Some of the 'perfumes' are coming out, I really like it so far. I've just twigged what it smells like! Febreze Mist and Refresh in Cotton Fresh - oddly enough I adore that smell. I assume the creamy vanilla is the scent of the linen. It's getting sharper as it dries down but the creaminess is still there. I'm falling more and more in love as it dries It's a bit sharper when dry but still gorgeous. I love it and want a bottle! Verdict: soft vanilla cream with a slight sharpness to it. Beautiful. Will order a bottle.

I was after something similar to Lush's Silky Underwear. In the imp it smells of jasmine and florals. So far every bpal jasmine scent has smelled of pee on me, but I'll be brave and give it a go. When on I can smell a strong floral soap, there's a shocker! I'm not going to let it dry because I know that any soap smell on me just gets worse. Verdict: immediate floral soap smell.
-
Frimp. The poppy may turn soapy/sour on me but I will give it a try. In the imp it smells like musk and I'm not too keen on it. When on, it smells a bit masculine which I like. I understand what a previous poster said about it smelling clear. It's almost clean and fresh but not quite. Like a man putting on aftershave at the end of the day. I hope it stays like this when it dries. The musk is starting to come out more as this dries, which is a shame. Now that it's dry it has turned slightly soapy which I know will continue. Shame, but I think it will be nice on my OH. Verdict: Turned slightly soapy on me after morphing lots. Will give to OH.

An enigmatic, otherworldly scent, brimming with power and mystery. Lavender and jasmine, with a touch of glowing honeysuckle. I was looking for a scent similar to Lush's Silky Underwear. In the imp I can pinpoint the lavendar and possibly a hint of jasmine. It has potential. When on the lavendar is still there but the pee smell of the jasmine is a bit stronger, hopefully it will mellow out. As it dries it is smelling more and more soapy. I wish I could handle florals because I love the smell of flowers Once dry it smells a bit like shampoo. A nice shampoo, but shampoo nonetheless. Hmm, not really fussed. Verdict: Not hideous but not really wearable for people who turn florals into soap.

Frimp. From the description I imagine that this will be another floral soap scent on me. In the imp I can smell florals and a hint of pee which I know is jasmine (it doesn't always smell like this to me though, just in certain combinations). I'm not sure that I want to put it on, but I'll be brave. When on it smells like a floral soap, not a solid soap but a liquid soap for some reason! The jasmine has turned nice and soft on my skin like it tends to do. Once dry it smells like a vain attempt at putting strong floral soap in a pee filled toilet cubicle. What is wrong with my skin!? Verdict: just don't. ETA: eeek it won't come off and I smell of wee!

I was after a scent similar to Lush's Sakura (even though I have the solid perfume of this, haha!) In the imp it smells it smells cheery and mouthwatering. I can smell the star anise straight away. This is unlike any others I have tried before and I'm really looking forward to it. When on I am amping the star anise and can't smell anything else. When dry it smells floral, which on me smells like floral soap How dissapointing. It smells so good in the bottle though, I may just keep it to sniff. Verdict: Floral soap on me, but will keep to sniff from the imp!

I'm looking forward to trying this one as I like rose scents. In the imp I can smell the rose but also some florals which tend to turn soapy on me. It has potential though. Once on it reminds me slightly of Saturnalia, the greeness I think (I assume this is the palmarosa), but this is more floral/soapy than that. It still has potential though. The drier it gets the soapier it smells. Although from far away I am catching nice whiffs. When dry it just smells of floral soap. Verdict: If florals turn to soap on your skin then this isn't for you.

I'm pretty sure this was a frimp. In the bottle I can smell what I can only assume is Wolfsbane! having never smelled it before I can only describe it as a sharp, floral, lime-green-coloured smell. When wet I can smell something that made me hungry! Very herbal which is good. It reminds me of Saturnalia but without the violets. When dry it smells like a slightly smokey herb. Pleasant but I doubt I will wear it.

I bought this based on reviews and the fact I wanted a dark/creepy/ghostly scent. In the bottle I definately get an eerie smell, but one that is giving me a creepy smile on my face. I can smell a bit of liquorice, perhaps that is the anise. When wet I can smell a dark green/earthy smell, aha the damp cave lichen! The anise is making my mouth water, I wish this were a sweetie It's drying and mixing with the leather smell of De Sade (another tester on my arm) and is making me woozy in a gorgeously dark-smell way. Very gothic, I may have to mix these 2 together. When dry it is slightly sweeter than when wet. I doubt I would wear it on it's own, but am very tempted to mix it with De Sade for a truly vampiric gothic smell.

Another frimp. In the bottle I can definately smell water! With a hint of lemongrass. Very interesting. When wet I can smell a floral. It reminds me of a garden centre after it has been raining. It's rather pleasant. When dry it's a delicate floral soap. I still like it, just not as a perfume. I'd be happy if my bath smelled like this.
-
I got this as a frimp and am excited as I've never tried anything with leather in it before. In the bottle , wow! I almost swooned. My OH has a leather coat which he wears in spring/autumn. This smells like him when he's wearing his Davidoff Cool Water and wearing the coat. I have to admit that it totally does it for me (memories of us getting together). Ok, I'll try to stop being giddy and give this a go on me. Who cares if it doesn't smell nice, I just want to sniff it out of the bottle, or try it on Him maybe? When wet I can smell something black and smokey, I'm assuming leather? A bit of gunpowder perhaps. Not my scene, we'll see what happens when it dries. When dry it's too masculine for me. I'll attack the OH with it.

I got this as a frimp and with all the florals in it I am doubtful that it will work on me, but I'll give it a go! In the bottle , erm, I can smell cats wee That's the jasmine I assume. Some jasmines smell good on me, but not all. Dare I put this on? Go on then. When wet the cats pee smell goes away, phew! It reminds me of Lush's Flying Fox temple balm which I loved! When dry it still smells much the same as when wet, but a teeny bit of soap is popping through. Hmm, I don't think this is for me. If only I could keep it at the middle stage, it would have been perfect.

I bought this based on a few reviews I saw. I was hoping for a murky greeny/blue water smell. In the bottle I get a sweet smell closely followed by something sharp which reminds me of water. Like a shower; it possibly smells similar to one of my (many) shower gels? I can almost smell a fruit; a touch of orange zest? Possibly another that will be sweeter than I expected. When wet I can smell soap, yuk! I hope it fades otherwise this will be a disaster. It smells good when my arm in resting on the table infront of me though, not what I was imagining but a slight creamy floral. Up close the soap is starting to wind down and the floral is peeping out resulting in a floral soap smell. Eeww now I can taste soap in my mouth!! When dry it is just soap soap soap. Yuk yuk yuk I'm so dissapointed with this. There must be something in it which is disagreeing with my chemisty. I'm off to wash the soap out of my mouth now.

I love the smell of damp woodlands and of mushrooms so I was probably over hopeful on this one. In the bottle it smells sweet and nondescript. It reminds me of the imps that don't suit me and get given away I wish this was darker and more damp. On me I can smell coconut like somebody mentioned and unfortunately I am not coconut's biggest fan. A deeper sniff lends me the earth factor which is fantastic, stop hiding and get to the front! When drying the earth is coming to the front more and more, but I can still smell coconut, be gone! When dry it's just too sweet for me. I can smell the earth if I sniff hard enough, but I wanted more of it. I won't be getting a bottle, but will probably keep the imp purely because I like the name!

I just bought Rose Red 2008 and fell in love with it, so I feel a tad sorry for London which just don't win! In the bottle I smell a beautiful and soft rose with a mixture of warm powder.I don't mind powder smells. When wet the rose is very strong, it's almost perfect, like an evening version of Rose Red. However when dry it's just too light on me and doesn't last long enough. I probably need dipping it! This is such a shame because it really had the potential to be gorgeous.

I got this as a frimp, but judging by the myrrh I was figured I was on to a winner. In the bottle I smell as very sweet and fruity smell, much like fruity bubblegum as others have mentioned! I can't make out any single notes. I've never smelled lotus flower before so can't tell what that would be like! When wet it smells much the same as in the bottle, still very sweet but a slight sharp note to it which is possibly the amber on me. When dry it's a sweet ever so slightly incensey smell on me (I amp incense like nobody's business!). I'm not too keen on it, however it may improve with age so I will keep hold of it. I also noticed it's longevity. I put it on before I went to bed and by morning I was greeted by a beautiful smell around me! Granted, the OH wasn't there, but I'm sure that didn't have much to do with it

I got a bottle of the 2008 version. This is my first bpal rose and 2nd ever rose perfume. It's everything I wished for! The rose is perfect. Sweet and slightly sharp. It really gets up your nose, in a good way. I put it on and I could smell it for over an hour quite strongly. It's worn down now, most do on me, but I can still smell it when I put my nose to my wrist. I have yankee candles and yankee plug-in air freshners in 'fresh cut roses' and was wishing they did this in a perfume, and to my nose Rose Red is exactly the same, and I couldn't be happier!

I bought this for my OH as he can be prone to depressive episodes. smell: in the bottle I wasn't sure if it would suit him, but dabbed it on his chest anyway. The smell really suited him though (must be the amber), I think spicy smells work with his chemistry! I couldn't stop snuggling up to his chest and sniffing him. So it was a very warm and comforting smell. effect: i didn't probe him too much. he only wore it for one day, but even though he has been really ill recently i can honestly say that he hasn't been feeling down for about a fortnight! i'll dab it on him when he's next down, and may even try it on myself at such times. overall: most definately a keeper, although more testing is needed to find out how he feels when wearing it.
-
smell: very spicy, probably not something i'd wear normally so i only used a little but could smell it on me all day! i wasn't feeling too well that day and all i can remember is that the spicyness was giving me a bit of a headache. i doubt this would happen on a normal day/ effect: wow this works! i wore it to work and even though i went home ill at lunchtime i had really good conversations with people! i work as a teaching assistant and didn't notice any effect on the children, but then they are always chatty with me now if i could only get it to work on my confidence. overall: a definate keeper, i'll be wearing this at work and may look into getting a full bottle.
