Down the Rabbit Hole Atmosphere Spray

This is a hard one to describe, but it is very lovely. I don't get sticks or dirt, just a creamy, lovely fresh spring-like scent, but not overly floral. It kind of reminds me of how a childs room would smell, quite innocent. This reminds of one of the "pretty pony" scents, but in a good way.

    Templum Victoriae Atmospheric Spray

Geez, this is a hard one to review. Very resinous, almost smells outdoursy in a way in the fall when the leaves are rotting. Not really my cup o tea.

    Boadicea Bath Oil

This is THE most amazing scent. I definitely will not be wasting it as a bath oil. To me, this is like Underpants, only not as foody, and with a teeny bit of musk, which is great as I'm not too keen on really foody blends. The fig is fresh, and there is a citrussy vibe, which I'm thinking is the pine needle. I don't get any neroli or vetiver, but maybe they're contributing to the blend somehow that I'm not aware of, maybe the muskiness. Overall, a fresh fig, soaked in a most wonderful creamy vanilla with a bit of a tang. I will covet my bottle, and probably try and track some more down. Hands down, one of my favourite scents EVER!! eta: If you are using this as a lotion, it does sink in very quickly, and leaves the skin baby soft.

    The Two-Headed Goat

This blend does not match the name at all. I find THG a delicate, feminine blend, when all is said and done on the drydown. "Fairy Musk" would have matched better I think. This is a soft, delicate musk on me, very reminiscent of "Creature Feature". I never would have picked this bottle up looking at the notes, and very thankful to have obtained a sniffie. Bottle purchase fer sure!!!

    Arachnina, The Spider Girl (2006)

To me, Arachnina belongs to the family of Mme Moriarty and Crypt Queen. The difference being that the Mme and CQ feature fruits and patchouli, while Arachnina features the incensey florals and patchouli. It is not as "dirty" as CQ as well, I actually like it better, she is less dusty and more desirable. I really don't get lilies at all, and this is not "perfumey" on me either. I'm surprised that she does not get more love...She is one sexy arachnid with one hell of a bite!! This would be a blend that you'd wear when your out on the town, looking for your next "victim" This scent is very empowering to me, and works extremely well with my skin chemistry. Basically, heaven in a bottle. Another CD "must purchase soon". Ugh, my bottle is MUCH different than the sniffy I had. I think I need to age her a year or two. Overpowering, screaming, musky floral.

    Tabula Smaragdina

Ack, sour, powdery rose, and nothing but.

    Antonino, The Carny Talker

Here's another one who thinks this smells like Carnival Diabolique, only with less incense. This is almost straight up lemon, with a dab of coconut and white musk. Very nice, though I wish I got some plum and lavender, as they are among my fave notes. This is so similar to Embalming Fluid (and I like EF better), that I'll probably skip on a bottle purchase. 2015 lots of verbena at first. The white musk eventually dominates this scent. Still not for me.

    Bezoar

Two words: Spicy rootbeer. This kiiind of reminds me of Schwarzer Mond or Uncertain Horror, but with less incense/darkness to the blend. OK so far. After a bit, there is more woodiness, which makes this less desirable to me, I liked it better wet.

    Marguerite

Heady jasmine and rose. After awhile, a creaminess comes out, but not enough to save me from the sour rose and powdery jasmine. Oh well.

    Gwyneth

Hmm, I could have sworn this was a tea blend. It smells very much like Embalming Fluid with floral. After awhile the rose comes out, but it is not going all haywire sour on me, which a lot of rose blends do. This is quite nice, but I have a couple of tea scents already that I like better. That being said, this blend, (like all the Grindhouse ladies), is extremely well blended. If you like a musky/tea/rose blend, this one is for you.

    Wulric, the Wolfman (2006)

On first sniff, this is lavender and cocoa (duh), quite strong, but I like it. Soon, he softens up ever so slightly to a wonderful creamy vanilla cocoa/lavender. I absolutely LOVE this, it is soft, feminine and cuddly. The lavender tempers the sweetness of the vanilla and cocoa, and there is NO sharp lavender at all. This is kind of like TKO, but better IMO. I am getting quite relaxed and calm, just sitting here with wafts of wonderful Wulric around me. This would be an awesome bedtime scent, as well as for PMS with the chocolate. Definitely moving to my top ten and pretty much one my favourites from the Carnival. Hoard worthy like my beloved Mme.

    Parthenope

Not surprised that this one doesn't work for me. Honeysuckle and jasmine, love to smell the flowers, but don't like it on myself. And while delicate, this is indeed honeysuckle and jasmine. eta: Half an hour later, I'm sitting here at the computer wondering what smells so damn good. It is a baby soft, delicate floral now. Not very indicative of a Grindhouse lady, I really like the scent, but it is not me. I could imagine this to be the natural smell of a young girl just entering her teens. Very nice!

    Marcilla

This is a fruity jasmine to me. I looove the smell of lily of the valley flowers, but this doesn't smell like that to me. Maybe a bit of tea here, but overall, this is a heady floral, the kind that doesn't sit well for me. Oh well.

    Theodosius, The Legerdemain

At first, this is all raid bug spray . Thankfully, it quickly disappears and a musky lemon comes out. This is quite the morpher, and the tea finally makes an appearance, the lemon disappears, but the musk stays. I don't get any Dorian similarities at all. I like this, but a vague "bitterness" will probably keep me from getting a bottle. Very glad to have had the opportunity to try it, though! 2015 version: Lemony, more similar to Dorian now. I have Dorian and love it so don't need any of this.

    Kataniya, the Clockwork Woman

I was frimped a sniffie by a generous forumite, very much appreciated! This one is very STRONG. I only had a tiny bit on the imp wand, and it is going strong an hour later. I get ozone and a bit of floral, overall very perfumey, I high end perfume, but a bit too much for my tastes. Yes, another that thinks this is a typical CK perfume, most notable, CK1, which I loved 15 years ago, but not now.

    Meskhenet, the Vulture Maiden

For some reason, I'm getting DBR from this blend, especially wet. The floral gradually fades, but is in the background to some incense. I get a bit of powdery orris there. This isn't bad, but even though DBR isn't listed, it smells too much like it for my tastes.

    Knucklebones

Hmm, I don't get any tobacco or musk. What I get is a soap and vetiver. Probably the orange blossom and musk, which I'm translating to vetiver for some reason. A bit too masculine for me, and I don't like it enough to try it out on my guy, so off to the swaps pile with ya!

    Eisheth Zenunim

This is quite pretty on me, a soft floral. Very refreshing and perfect for a hot day. Thankfully, I just get a touch of ambergris, and I probably wouldn't have even noticed it was there, but I peaked at the description. Cocoa is just a whisp in the background. Half and hour later, though it is almost gone. One of those "barely there, close to the skin" blends. Ha, I see there is peaches in this, which I don't like either, and don't find it offensive at all. This is nice, and soooo well blended but I probably won't spring for a bottle.

    Licwiglunga

Wet, I get a strong lavender with a bit of citrus, probably the verbena? As this dries, the lavender fades and the citrus strengthens. Along for the ride is a creamy note. I do not like my citrus creamy, I like it straight up fresh and zingy. Unfortuneately, this one does not deliver.

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

Holy smokes, a fruity scent that I like!! Actually, to me, it is Miller vs. California without the brown paper bag scent. I so do like this, but I do have MvC that is pretty much identical on my skin.

    Aeronwen

This is quite sharp on my skin. I get some citrus as well and the combination is pretty much one of those medicinal, masculine soaps. It kind of reminds me of Khrysee for some reason, before the lovely drydown. I think it's the orange-iness of it. I'll see if this changes over the next few hours, but for now, it is kind of a miss. eta: I did end up liking this! It is definitely bottle worthy to me. The sharpness does fades, and a creamy, sweet fig comes out. The myrhh balances the sweetness beautifully. There still is something missing. I wish this blend was "warmer" somehow, maybe the amber will come out more with age. If so, this will be my holy grail scent.

    The Blockhead

Wet, this is strawberry bubble-yum! As it dries, it turns into a sweet, soapy, strawberry bubble-yum, with a touch of metal. I actually find this scent doesn't fit the character of the description, as other reviewers have noted. I could imagine a very feminine, sexy girl working as a mechanic or metal worker wearing this. This is nice, but not really my style.

    Melisande, The Puppet Mistress

At first this is a tropical floral of a lovely kind. I'm surprised, as I usually don't like tropicals. Maybe it's the combination of the jasmine sambac and mimosa (?). The tropical fades pretty quickly and we're left with violet. It actually kind of reminds me of Violet Ray, minus the mint, which I love. I really like this, but really get nothing other than violet in the drydown, which I can get from Violet Ray.

    Hand of Glory

I can't really decide if I like this or not. At first I get a nice tobacco-like scent with vetiver, which I actually think is the dry leather. I normally like leather, but this I think is a bit too dry and makes me think "vetiver", which is a note that I don't really enjoy. Still, I get a bit of nice nutmeg, which is a bit like tobacco to me, which I love. So therefore, it is like love/hate blend for me. If it wasn't for the leather being too dry, I'd probably be all over this. For now, I'm just glad to have been able to try it, anyways!

    Pulcinella & Teresina

Vinegar and wood. This actually reminds me a lot of Anne Bonny.
