    The Masque

This is very medicinal, and I could swear there is vetiver here, as this seems to be amping to me. There is a fresh floral along with the vetiver, and I'm wondering if I got a mislabelled decant. There is no spicy incense, just a floral vetiver. Tried this again, as I was soaking wet from getting caught in the rain before. There is definitely a sweetish honey incense now, but I still swear there is vetiver. The honey is more like a "nectar" if that makes any sense. This is "OK", but not really me.

    Cthulhu

Cologny, ozoney, aquatic. If you are an aquatic fan, you'll probably love this. Not for me, off to swaps. *This is nothing like the Velvet Cthulhu if anyone was wondering.

    Block Buster

This is all spicy goodness, a warm, creamy cinnamon among others which I can't identify. I didn't know this was a conjure oil, so I'll have to see how my day goes! This one is definitely a keeper, though it seems more suited to fall weather.

    Zombi

I should know better to even put an oil on my skin that contains a dirt note. I guess some would be happy to amp dirt, but definitely not me. The rose was there initially, but scattered into the background in fright I think. Not for me. Off to swaps.

    Delight

This blend doesn't really change much from wet to dry. I find it is a cloying, creamy, sweet heady floral, most likely of the jasmine type. *shudders*. I have yet to find a bpal jasmine that works on me. Off to swaps.

    Holiday Stress Relief Bath Oil

A lovely forumite frimped me this little gem! I was hunting this down in another section, and didn't realize it was a bath oil, and slathered it on my wrists. Anyways, this really reminds me of something, but I can't think of what. Maybe one of the Panacea blends, Bitch perhaps? I've misplaced my Bitch decant, so I can't really compare right now, but I think that is the one that smells pretty similar to this. At first there is a faint lavender, then geranium pokes out. I can't really see wearing this as a perfume, but it would be lovely in a bath, and I'm definitely going to pick myself up a bottle if it should make an appearance again. eta: Now that I have more, I know what this reminds me of. It is Lush's Aura Suavis shower gel!

    Two, Five & Seven

Rose, rose and more ROSE!! If you are a rose lover, you'll love this. Most of the time rose does not work for me, and this is no exception. At first, I got some citrussy orange, but that quickly burnt off. It does get kind of honeylike in the dry-down. Off to swaps with ya!

    Serpent's Kiss

I can't believe I actually guessed the notes on this one! This is all DBR, cinnamon, and something "dirty", which I guessed could have been vetiver or cedar. DBR is a much too sophisticated scent for me, but the vetiver and spice makes this blend somewhat more wearable. Not enough for me to keep, though, off to swaps.

    Maenad

I knew this was a berry scent, but I didn't know it was strawberry. Most strawberry scents go corrupt on me because they are too sweet and plasticy. This is blended with something darker, so it doesn't go all waxy lip balm. I love poppy, so maybe the incense is what is saving this blend? It KIND of reminds me a bit of Hellion, but with strawberry and not as much incense as Hellion has. I'll definitely keep the imp!!

    Revenge

This is a herbally, musky, perfumey blend. And every aspect is STRONG, aggressive and overpowering. The name suits this scent very well, and I can't see using this very often, unless my inlaws overstay a welcome, then I'll certainly bring it out!

    Thanatopsis

This smells like a fruity evergreen wet, and dries down to just a mixture of the evergreens. This would be a great Christmas scent in the oil burner, but I probably wouldn't wear it.
  12. milo

    Danse Macabre

This is quite evocative of Christmas with the evergreen notes at first when it is wet. It gets quite "cleanser" like after a bit, kind of like pine sol, and like another poster noted, astringent. I don't think I would wear this, but I buy unscented cleaning solution and add my imps to it for scent. This would definitely be the perfect one for that.

    Velvet Pink Kitty

This is an effervescent, strawberry cream soda kind of scent to me. I like the fizziness of this, it reminds me of gingerale and it's not too sweet either. Strawberry scents rarely work on me, they end up smelling like waxy lip balm. This, though is behaving, the alcohol/ginl note is keeping it in check perhaps? This would be great for a pool party, so fun and flirty, though I don't usually like these kind of blends, this is a nice first! A bottle is in store, for sure!

    Velvet Cthulhu

The Velvet's are definitely surprising me! The ones I thought I'd like I don't, and the ones I didn't think I like, I do. VC is a surprise like! Right away, I get a herbal mint, and geranium (?). This is kind of like Gennivre l'Artiste Diable, but a bit more herbally. I also really like this scent, as it smells very much Lush's Aura Suavis Bubble Bar/Shower Gel, which my son loves and is almost out. He agreed that it smelled good, but went "meh" when I said I'd get him a bottle. (He's a CK junkie AARGHH) I think I'll get VC for him for when he is older, as it smells really great on him. (And for me to steal!!)

    Velvet Tiger

Well Hello Veh-tih-varghhh!! I don't think I've tried a blend that screams out vetiver so much as this one. The vetiver stays, too. Every once in awhile, I think a bit of orange peeks out, and something spicy/cologney. The eventually dries to something spicy, masculine, smoky, and yes, vetiverish. Not for me, (I don't like wearing masculine scents), but I'd probably break my neck turning if a guy walked past me wearing this. So yeah, I guess I do like it, just not on me.

    Velvet Panther

Velvet Panther is a dark sweet incense on me, which would be good, except for the fact that it is a bit too masculine for my tastes. A cologne-like smell keeps poking out here and there and I keep getting a wood too. The blend suits the name very well, though, a slinky, dark scent. Though I like this, I don't "love" it, and probably wouldn't reach for it too often. I think the Panther is better suited to cooler months, much too heavy for spring/summer.

    Velvet Clown

In the imp, and for the first little bit on, this is like Juicy Fruit gum went on a bender (probably the licorice!). I kind of like boozy scents, so this doesn't really bother me. Gradually it changes to a fruity, smoky, tobacco, which would be really really good if the fruit wasn't strawberry-like. Strawberry and I don't get along most of the time, but if this were say, a plum I'd be in heaven. I don't get any peanuts or greasepaint, thankfully. If you like strawberry cotton candy scents, you'd probably like this one.

    Pontia

My mom grows lavender, and this is the true blue lavender that my mom hangs to dry in the summer from her herb garden. I love this, though for a blend that starts out sooo strong, it fades, "poof" gone, an hour later. I do love this, though for scent association as well.

    Velvet Tiki

To think I almost didn't even get a decant of this! Tropical florals have never worked on me, in fact Tiki Queen was a big miss. I love the fact that this is tropical without being overbearing, and I don't get any cloying floral at all. What I get is coconut and a touch of pineapple, but not like Rangoon Riptide, this is soft and inviting, while RR is IN YOUR FACE, I am HERE! After a bit, the pineapple fades and a delicious sweet floral comes out with warm vanilla. I can't really identify it, but as someone who doesn't like most florals, this is not heavy at all. A surprise win, a nice surprise win..I think I need a bottle..

    Dance of Death

This is a very ethereal scent. I'm discovering that I love these blends, and this is no exception. To me, it's a soft, incensey floral. somewhat powdery, but I do like powdery. Very nice!

    Earth Ox

Candylike honeydew melon (even though it is not on the notes) with a bit of something musky. I really wanted some of the other notes to come through, but sadly it's just sweet honeydew. Blech, I do NOT like anything melon unless I'm eating or drinking it!

    La Vita Nuova

Very clean and green smelling. My son told me I smelled like Pert Plus. Man, he is so right! This smells exactly like Pert Plus! Great if you like this shampoo, I unfortuneately do not. Swap pile.

    Nero

On first sniff, this is Christmas in an imp! In fact, this is very similar in feel to Midnight Mass, though it seems like there is more pine here, and more spicey herbs instead of incense. Pine usually is a difficult note for me, but this works very well. Instead of incense as with MM, there is the Rosemary. This would also be awesome as a room scent for around the holidays.
  24. Mmm, this is a sinister gingerbread! I am not very good at picking out notes, but this smells quite a bit like "Flesh Eating Reindeer's From Uranus". This blend is nice and gingerbreadlike with a bit of musk maybe? There is a citrussy sweetness as well, kind of like lemon sugar and maybe a touch of mint, or the candy scent coming out. I really like this, as I'm a ginger/citrus whore. Yes, I'd buy this in a minute!
  25. In the bottle, this is snake oil with a foody coconut. On, this is a more incensey, resinous snake oil, I don't get a lot of coconut on, it is there, but barely. It's actually quite masculine at this stage, like Crowley's younger brother. I'm a bit bummed, as I don't wear masculine scents. After 10 minutes or so, it is not masculine anymore, this is snake oil with some white coconut and a extra jolt of warm vanilla thrown in. What a morpher!! I like this quite a bit.
