I get a snow note, metallic note (probably the blood?), and a dash of mint. Most of the lab's snow notes do not work for me, as well as the metallic. Still I was holding out hope that the mint would be the dominant one here, but alas it is not to be. This smells like a really strong (good quality) hotel soap in the end. Not for me.

Gluttony. I love foody scents when they are blended with something else non-foody, like Glowing Vulva, Inez (sometimes). I generally don't like straight up foody. This is of the first category, foody with something else, though everything listed in the notes are all foody except for the hops. I'm guessing this is giving it the perfumey note to this one. Although I should like this, I don't. The non-foody component is just too perfumey to me, or maybe it's the nuts. Inez does this to me sometimes, I love her sometimes, not others. It's that "yuck" note, that I can't really figure out what it is, that is present in gluttony as well. It also morphs even sweeter, which is not a good thing. Oh well, glad I've been able to try this imp anyways.

I'm getting a very strong perfumey smell from this one, I'm guessing it's sandalwood and the musk together. I normally like musks, but this just seems wrong somehow. The florals are smelling like DBR to me, another miss. Oh well. eta: I get no amber (one of my fave notes) or vetiver.

Invasion of the Flesh-Eating Reindeer from Uranus
milo replied to RaeiNarcissus's topic in Retail Exclusive Oils
Wet, this is WHOA, in your face ginger and clove, with a touch of rum and something sinister, which I'm guessing is the musk. This quickly dries, and the rum and musk disappear, poof, and the rest of it tames down. I wish the rum and musk stuck around awhile, maybe with time it will? This is very much like Gingerbread Poppet to me, in fact a tamer version, at least GP sticks with me all day, this is gone in a couple of hours. -
I was a little wary of this one, greens are a hit or miss on me, with very few hits. The greens do dominate on me here, and I do get the amp of ozone from greens, which is why so few work on me. Too much like a lot of the CK scents. This one is a morpher though, and mint really tries to come out periodically, which is a good thing. I was hoping the kiwi would keep the greens in check, but so far I don't get any kind of fruit at all. I am wafting between the yummy minty phase and the yucky ozoney phase. I will definitely keep this for awhile, just got the bottle yesterday, so maybe it needs to settle. Hopefully the fruit will come out to play, but for now "That" is on the fence. I think this would be a great summer scent, I kind of get that vibe, (if it will start working on me, that is).

This is possibly THE best red musk blend I've tried, probably tied with Red Phoenix. The red musk is quite strong initially, but mellows with a bit of yummy spicy tea. The rooiboos, (which in tea is kind of vanilla-y to me) is maybe what gives this a nice sweetness that rounds this baby off to not such an evil spawn. I LOVE this!!

I should really check these out before trying on. I would have tried Nanshe before bed had I known it was a dream forumula. Oh well. I get a whole lot of sweet, lemony citrus, and an exhaust note (wtf?) There is such a nice ginger note as well, but disappears once it dries down, too bad. This would be pleasant to me if it weren't from the faint smell of car exhaust. I'll try before I go to bed and see if I can interpret some of my (ahem) wild dreams.

This is fruity and florally, not really my two favourite scents, but somehow I like this today. There is a touch of musk, but it very quickly fades away. Very uplifting and cheery, though there is no jasmine noted, I kind of get the vibe. This scent actually reminds me a bit of Lush's Flying Fox, one of a couple of jasmine scents I like. Don't know what I'll think of this another day, but now I appreciate the brightness of this scent. eta: Now my normal spidey senses regarding my tastes are coming out, and this one is definitely not me. If you like bright, fruity florals, this one is for you.

Ooh, a red musk blend! I am excited, red musk works very well on me. It is a gloriously sweet red musk, with a bit of woods thrown in. This fades pretty quickly, a close to the skin scent. Very nice, but I have a lot of red musk scents that I like better. I thought this would be pretty masculine on me, due to the title and other comments, but it really is just a toned down Scherezade for me with a bit of woods. I really like this one!

Perfumey detergent. Kind of like wildflowers, not me. We'll see if I become wealthy today, though!

This one is a bit difficult to review for me. To me, it is a soft, powdery whispy floral, I quite like it coming from one who doesn't really like most florals. It reminds me of the scented pretty ponies, not sure if you can get them anymore, but quite feminine, something that you would imagine a young, pretty child smelling like. Fades quickly. I'll probably enjoy the imp more in the spring time.

On, this is a strong floral, but quickly fades into a pleasant, powdery one. Soft and feminine, but fades very fast. I get a teeny hint of rose, but everything is so well blended that it is hard to pick out any one note. The description is very sad, and is kind of a downer.

Twin to Deimos and child of War, Phobos is the embodiment of terror and mortal fear. Chilling white musk, lemon verbena, white grapefruit and lemongrass. In the imp, it was YES, but on, it just smells like lemon pledge. It dries quite quickly into a fresh lemon scent, I don't get cleaning product anymore. I really do love lemon scents, and most citruses, but I like Embalming Fluid and Phantasm better. This is a little too "lemon candy" for me. I'll probably finish the imp in the summer months, I don't dislike this, but I probably don't like it enough for a bottle.

Normally I slather, but you really do not need to do this with Slobbering Pine. This is really the perfect winter scent, nice and piney, and STRONG. This one is a clean and crisp masculine scent, probably not for me, but I still enjoy it, probably would more on a hot guy.

Isaac intrigues me. I knew right away when I tried him, that this was a good blend for me. I'm discovering that I like tobacco and booze notes, so this is right up my alley, sleeze that I am. I thought there was honey in this, but it must be the bourbon. A very sweet, creamy tobacco that is o so good with the bourbon. I don't get any cheap aftershave, and there is a bit of a citrus quality to this one that makes this blend more feminine. This was a sniffie, and I'm not sure how old it is, but damn if I'm so lucky to try this before the carnival leaves town. This is one I never would have tried or bought, and very glad that I did! An unexpected bottle worthy scent, my day is made!

Wow, this is sooo good. I get a feminine fruity spice, maybe the chardonnay (?), some tobacco, and a touch of leather. I don't get any rum, but it is one of my fave notes, so maybe it's blended in there somewhere. This is the kind of tobacco note that I love, kind of like pipe tobacco, not the flower. This is a really awesome scent, and this was a sniffie, so I'm crying that I hadn't tried this before making an infrequent lab order a few days ago. The good news is, I've found another love!!

In the imp and wet, kind of evergreen. I like it. This dries down to a perfumey, incense blend, a bit to heavy on the floral perfume part. I enjoy incense, but this is wrong in this blend. Hades does not suit me, much to formal and aristocrat-like.
-
Honey, with a very light spice. Quite nice and soft, very feminine without being cloying like some honey scents are.
-
In the imp, very masculine. On, the same, but about 20 minutes later, I kept getting this wonderful whiff of gorgeous sweet woods, still masculine and cologny, but in a good way.
-
I have a heck of time picking out rose notes. I knew I didn't like this one, but I thought it was jasmine. Rose goes sour on me, and this one is no exception. Still, the scent really captures how I would imagine Rome to be before it goes all sour.
-
This is a very nice, cozy scent. At first I thought that it was too masculine, but it dried into a warm, floral cinnamon. I like this very much, and I foresee a bottle in the future after my imp runs out.
-
Cherries plus foody cake just doesn't do it for me. As with MB Bloody Mary, a total fail, although this one is a little less sweet.
-
Bright, pink, sparkling, candylike. A little bit too sweet for my tastes.
-
Odd, I get fruity incense in this blend, not jasmine, *takes another sniff* OK maybe it's there. Oh yes, it's really blooming now. Although this is floral, it smells "dirty" somehow, like a naughty, sexy flower. Still I really don't like the combo of jasmine and musk, and this is not for me.

This smelled great in the imp, but on my skin, I got the dreaded cedar or vetiver note, (can't really tell the two apart!) which does not work well on me. This faded to what I get as a harsh cleaning agent smell, not great at all. Then it fades to something floral. Strange how it morphs from three distinctive and different smells, all of which I don't like, oh well.
