I've developed food and inhaled allergies over the past year, and I'm finally brave enough to test florals and fruits (I can't seem to tolerate anything else atm). Well looks like violet is OK for me, I love violet, and this does not disappoint. It's not 'old lady' at all, sophisticated, somewhat dry and very springlike. I like this and happy I can wear at least something!

I wanted to love this, but it ends up being a masculine forward blend on me. I get all the notes, but I think if the sugar cane came out more, this would be more wearable to me. I'll give it a bit of time.

This should be great. It has all the notes, but falls flat from the get go. The honey dominates from start to finish on me with a touch of (not so pleasant) rosewater. This is the kind of scent that would mask BO, it just reminds me of that for some reason. I think I'll try this in a few days, my hormones may be the culprit here. I hope.

I have a soft spot for old dogs, so I went straight to bottle. It's very fruity at first, which I'm assuming is the fig, after a bit, the clove ends up being the star. I guess I amp clove, which is alright sometimes, but I really wanted the other notes to come through more. Hopefully with some age, this will happen. Now I am missing my old girl, great memories.

Really mis-matched at first, kind of like cookies and lavender, which sounds like a good thing, but not really for me. There's a creaminess to the blend, which I'm assuming is the goat's milk. After a bit, it melds better, and it's creamy, strong lavender. After a bit, there's a strong resemblance to Capax Infiniti, though I like this better. It seems to be a fast fader, but I put it on before bed, so I'll try again this evening. It's nice, and I'm a lavender whore, so I'll use it up eventually, but I'm a bit disappointed, I thought it would be better on me. I wished the mallow showed up, but maybe it will with time.

Probably the most neroli and orange blossom that I've run into yet. It's sharp and bitter, and even a bit too much for this orange blossom lover. After a bit, I'm getting a lemony rose added to the mix and much more pleasant. This will be lovely in the summer months, it's quite unique and refreshing. Glad to have the dram.

I have the original Banshee Beat, and this is pretty spot on, except a bit grittier, so maybe the patchouli is more fresh. Sweet vanilla, hemp and a slight menthol quality, and mostly the slightly gritty patch. I'm quite sure this one will become just like my beloved BB with a bit of time, but it's still pretty amazing, and I like the twist of a bit more oomph of the untamed patch.

This is much brighter than I expected. I thought it would be a moodier, darker orange blossom blend. I'm getting a soapier OB than I'm used to, but it dries only slightly less soapy. I don't mind this, but I think I need OB with amber to really make a perfume shine on me. I'll probably use the decant in warmer months.

The yellow carnation smells different than the red carnation that I'm used to. It goes on spicy with a musky vibe is what I'm thinking is the difference. Not getting any BV at this point, but I really like this blend. It's bright and fresh, and I'll probably reach for this imp more in the summer. eta: YES, it does remind me of Potion Lotion as Leopard mentioned above.

Marshmallow Peaches & Orange Blossom Sugar
milo replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Event Exclusive Oils
Sweet, sweet peaches and marshmallow with a touch of orange blossom and neroli. I'm a huge orange blossom fan and the marshmallows are nice in some blends, but the peach gave me pause. Indeed, it is uber sweet on me, and peach dominant. I like my peaches less sweet, but still, this blend holds promise. I hope that the orange blossom and marshmallow become more stronger with time, and then it will be a beauty. For now, this one goes in the cellar for next summer.- 4 replies

Mint, coconut and tangerine in that order. I like it at this point. It dries down to a dusty coconut with a touch of mint. I wish it had stayed the scent of when it's wet.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
milo replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
I just got a sampler of Tom Ford's Metallic, and love it! Is there any Bpal equivalent? Top notes of aldehydes, bergamot and pink peppercorn, heart notes of Hawthorn, lily of the valley and heliotrope, and base notes of ambrette seed, Peru balsam, sandalwood, and vanilla. I will also search the lab's website. -
I can't believe I accidentally ordered decants of this twice.😲 I can just see myself, "Oh this looks nice", and realized I already had a decant. Anyhoo, this is sugary lemon upfront, but morphs into a clear musky scent with a touch of lemon. I like it and am glad I have another decant coming.😂

Clear, clean lavender with pale woods. This is a refreshing sleep blend if there is such a thing, like crawling into crisp high quality cotton sheets with the window open.
-
I thought right away, carnation, but it's the clove. I'm not really getting the hay, but maybe it's adding a freshness to the blend. This is nice, it reminds me of more of a carnation blend, though, like Spanish Red Carnation.

I'm not sure why I picked this one up, not a fan of wisteria, but I do like some of these notes, like tuberose, sage and narcissus. Ends up being a strong, white floral on me, a bit screeching. It's my own fault, but if you like these kind of florals, I'm sure you'll love this!
-
Peony is not really my jam, but amber loves me and I couldn't resist 'pink amber', which I have never tried. First out of the mailbox, strong and screeching, so I put it away for a couple of weeks. Tried it on this morning, and I couldn't remember what I put on, so I had to check😂. Very rich, but floral 'pink' amber with a touch of peony. If you like scents like High Strung Daisies, or other 'pink' blends, you would like this. Very nice, and glad that I have the decant.

The reviews of this one sent me straight to bottle. I'm getting the vanilla, though it doesn't seem like the Bourbon variety to me at this point. Maybe with aging it will come out. The mallow is there as a supporting role, and I'm getting kind of an earthiness to the the blend. This is what I'd imagine a hobbit's house would smell like. A homey, woody sweetness, with the air of baked goods, and dare I say it that this may be a cousin to Storyville. It's got that foody vibe going, akin to the likes of Edith, Inez and Underpants. Glad I went for a bottle here, and I hope that it will be enough.😍

Tea note reigns strong here, but I don't mind too much. After a bit, a whiff of the violet, but not detecting vanilla, jasmine sambac, or musk, (which initially scared me off as I'm not a huge fan of the white variety). Lovely, and I'm glad I have the imp.

Very realistic pink grapefruit, there's even the pith scent to this! Fast fade, on me anyways.
-
Definitely heavy on the sugar crystals in this one. I do get the grapefruit, but it is very sweet, like candied grapefruit and vanilla. I do like it, but nothing beats NAVA Pink Grapefruit Frankincense for an authentic pink grapefruit scent. This one kind of reminds me of KnockOut drops, but less citrussy and with grapefruit instead of lemon. I'll keep the bottle.

Hmm, a lovely floral Snake. Getting soft florals at first, and fades to be pretty watery muted blend. I wish I were getting any kind of Snake Oil, but it's just soft, powdery florals. Maybe it's there, because the blend is reminding me of Cottonmouth, just a teeny bit, but with different florals, or maybe there are a similar floral component. It's nice, but I don't need any more. Looking forward to see what this dram does with some age behind it.

Snake Eyes Gleaming in Spring’s First Twilight
milo replied to Lycanthrope's topic in Limited Editions
OMG, oude right off, and it's a poopy one! The lavender is quite prominent at first as well. Gradually, this fades into a lovely green snake, with vanilla and soft lavender. I may need more of this (dram), it is quite 'oudy' at first, but ends up being (maybe a bit too soft), lovely green blend. I'm thinking that this will age quite nicely! -
No no no, it's all snow all the time, not even a breath of a Snake. Glad I just went for a decant, so disappointing.

Snake Oil and wildflower honey make this a more tone-downed Womb Furie with just a touch of cinnamon. I love orange blossom, but I can barely smell it. For those who found WF to be 'too much', they could give this a whirl. It is just too similar to this and other spice blends that I have and enjoy.
