    Tanuki No Kanban

Ground up nuts, slightly toasted with brown sugar. This smells delicious and comforting somehow. There's a bit of wood here. This smells like fall to me, but not in the apple cider sense, rather baking cookies, and the wood smoke blowing in the window. Not a real foodie wearer as a rule, but this is nice to try. It reminds me a teeny bit of Dirty Vanilla, a tart that Alternative Breeding makes.

    Tanuki No Doke Daruma

Some soapy apple and non descript cologney smell at first. After a bit the currant comes out to play, and it's a bit more tart. I've never smelled the lab's tomato note, and I'm not getting it here either. This kind of reminds me of a tart, fruity Body Shop soap, or a high end shampoo. This tanuki is not working for me.

    Tanuki No Hikifune

Honeydew, honey, and sparkling golden-green musk. This takes me back to visiting my friends in Edmonton, where the drinking age is 18 (I was still 17!), and drinking something delicious called a 'Melon Ball'. This smells like this tastes, sweet honeydew. Though I like the taste of this drink, the scent is too young for me. If the green musk came out, it may be more wearable, but so far it hasn't. I like this for the memories, but I"ll probably never wear it much. This would be a great shower gel scent, though, especially on a hot day.

    Jibiki Danuki

This is really pretty, I love black musk, and it combines so nicely with the white musk. It kind of reminds me of Psychological Horror, I think it's that one anyways, that's supposed to smell like a 70's type musk. Soft, musky, feminine, so far, the fave of the Tanuki's, I may have to track down some more...

    Tanuki No Orai

Very summery blend. Peachy peach, kind of sweet and fresh at the same time. A bit of dust comes out on me after a bit, kind of like coconut husk. This kind of reminds me of Tamora, though I like Tamora better as it's not so peachy, and more musky. Peach lovers would like this, it smells like those peach sour soft gelly candies.

    Tanuki No Senkimochi

I'm wondering what being afflicted with Senki is. It doesn't sound good. I'm getting a lot of peppery anise at first, quite off-putting as I'm not a fan of pepper or strong anise. Dry, less pepper and anise, and somewhat medicinal. This is plain old weird on me, not something I'd wear. It seems slightly boozy to me as well, so medicinal boozy anise. Not for me. eta: OK, well it took about an hour, but once everything calms down and blends together, this is beautiful dark, smoky clovelike blend. It reminds me of a more masculine Velvet Bandito, but with less clove, and a bit Schwarzer Mond-like. I don't need more, as it is a bit too masculine for me, but I'd love to try it on a guy.

    Tanuki No Amiuchi

Dark, incensey, kind of a touch of sourness, like pickle juice, but it does fade away. A bit too masculine for me, with a bit of soapiness. It kind of reminds me of a more masculine Fledgling Raptor Moon.

    Ozymandias

Not really getting dry desert air here, more jasmine with a touch of incense. I have just got in from an extremely cold and wet evening, however, so maybe this is counter-acting the effect of the cold. Anyways it helps to think I"ve put on an oil that is supposed to have hot dry evocativeness.
  9. Dark, herbal chocolate. Both dark in the sense of the chocolate, and dark as in a 'dark' blend. It really reminds me of one of the `13`s a year or two back, I think it was Feb 09 or 10, the one with the black label. I like this blend, but not sure how it smells one me, if that makes sense. In other words, I don`t know if I`d wear it out in public. I like chocolate in perfume as long as it`s not too foody, and this is dark and sultry. I`ll certainly enjoy the imp in cooler weather.

    Blueberry Peppermint

Peppermint at first, I'm not getting any blueberry at all. Dries to a mild vanilla mint, very much like my bottle of "Lick it Vigorously", my fave lick it. This would be great for a hot day. Nice, but I don't need more.

    Darkness

On first sniff, this is indeed dark! I'm really getting the narcissus at first, a heady note that I don't mind too much, but it is made dark by the resins. I kind of like these kind of blends, but something is smelling rubbery here, like a tryst in the office with the smell of a condom. Maybe it will settle down, these rubbery annoyances sometimes do, but for now, it's a no go.

The Golden Apple Of The Sun

At first, this is warm apple and spices. Pretty much a classic craft store pot-pourri at this point, which I don't even like smelling in my house, let alone on my skin. Dry, the frankincense comes out, the apple disipates somewhat, and it is more wearable. Still more suited to fall, though.

    Anathema

Color me surprised. Vetiver and honeysuckle are not always that great on me, but they seem to 'balance' each other out here. The honeysuckle cancels out the acrid smokiness, and the vetiver tempers the sweet headiness of the honeysuckle. The result is a smoky, sultry subtle floral with a touch of resins. Nice! I'll certainly enjoy the imp while it lasts!

    Sumai No Sechie

A bit of citrussy grapefruit and musk at first. This then dries down to a soapy citrus, not unlike the Body Shop's pink grapefruit soap, only not as citrussy and more soapy. Not for me.

    Jailbait

Bazooka Joe Bubblegum!! I even get the dusty powdered sugar here along with the very strong strawberry syrup gum with a touch of cinnamon spice. After a bit, a fresh wet floral comes out, but the main note here is the candied strawberry. I like this for memories sake, but I doubt I'd ever wear it out, much too young for me.

    Midwinter's Eve

I couldn't figure out what this fruit was until my son asked me what I was wearing, and that it smells like strawberries. This smells more like strawberries than plums to me. It is sweet, fruity and fun, but much too young for me. After a bit, it becomes uber sweet, and is a definite 'no go'. My son likes it though!

    Elegy IX: The Autumnal

Medicinal and astringent at first, kind of like Dettol, or Pine Sol, not really, but that kind of vibe. I'm thinking this must be the pine. Dry, less astringent, somewhat herbal, slightly dusty, not really something I wear, but the air around me smells kind of nice. I'd probably like this as a room scent, but it's not really my style as a perfume.
  18. I can tell right away this is a different kind of bpal, as I'm getting the cooling effects of the alcohol right away. Scentwise, I'm getting a tart pomegranate laced with something musky and dark, with a bit of a 'bite'. It's been awhile since I smelled Crypt Queen, but it seems vageuly familiar to this one, though Crypt Queen smells dirtier somehow. This is fresh and dark all at the same time, and I would definitely purchase more if I could. For now, it is nice to just get to try this.

    Aperotos Eros

Hmm, I wonder if Indian Musk is the same as Red Musk, because what I'm getting is a TON of red musk here. I like my red musk as a background note as best, and I'm not getting anything else here but the musk. This is very similar to Scherezade and Marianne on me, but ultimately, this is a bit too musky.

    Frederic

Frederic is indeed dark, but in a good way. I'm getting something slightly sour and musky at first, but he dries to a lovely dark musk with a bit of patchouli. This is reminding me a bit of bpal 'darker' blends, like Silas Ruthyn, Schwarzer Mond, but without the cola note. It kind of reminds me of a more darker masculine Snake Oil. This is very nice, though a bit too masculine for me. This would smell AMAZING on a guy, methinks, so I will save the decant..

The Silver Apple Of The Moon

Wet, fresh green apple and moonflower, and a bit of something musky and perfumey, though it is nice at this point. Dry, a dustiness, which could be one of many bpal notes. It still is nice and ethereal in spite of the dust. It reminds me a bit of Staged Moon Landing, with the clear, crisp moonflower and crystal feel. This blend is not for me, but it was certainly nice to try.

    Raspberry Thumbprint Cookie

Sweet, sweet, sweet rasperry whipped up with yet more sugar. I get no cookie, well, maybe at first, but then it's all uber sweet raspberry jam, only sweeter. It reminds me of making jam, and the sugary foam that ends up on the top while the jam is boiling. I'm not a fan of these kind of blends, but sugary candy and foody lovers would probably love this.

    The Red Queen

Lot's of sweet cherry at first. It kind of smells like a stick of cherry gum. The woods come out, and it's not meshing too well with the cherry on my skin. Dries to a dusty cherry, with a bit of 'bite' from the black currant. Not my thing at all.

    Sangria Champagne

This is refreshing an effervescent at first. I'm getting some soapy orange and a white wine note along with the champagne. I normally like boozy notes, but this is so true to Sangria, that it is making me a little ill. I also make my own wine, and this smells somewhat like when you're making white wine, and pretty close to a brewery shop. Not for me, a bit too boozy.
  25. Delicious almond cream and lemon grass at first. Very refreshing, with only a hint of white chocolate which doesn't play nice with my skin. Dry, coconut and sweetened condensed milk, which is probably the white chocolate, and dusty coconut. This does not smell good on me, I blame the white chocolate, as it was very nice at first...
