Aquatic coconut at first, with a touch of mint. There maaay be a touch of rum, but it is pretty subdued. After a bit, it's all about the coconut. The aquatic and mint just sloooowly fade away, and we're left with a slightly dusty coconut. I really have a hard time with coconut going dusty on me, but here it's not too bad. Nice to try, but not really me. eta: Further on, it smells pretty close to Perversion on me, though not as well rounded and robust. I like this at this stage, but Perversion is better on me.

Lots of cherry at first, then the cassia comes roaring in with a vengeance. This is basically smells like those cinnamon hearts that come out around Valentine's Day. I get no cherry after the inital blast. Unfortuneately, this is just too spicy.

This is lots of pine at first, and then dries to pretty much single note black musk on my skin. My skin and I love Black Musk, so this is nice, but I have lots of blends with this note in it. If anything, it seems a bit more masculine than the other black musk blends I have.

Wet, fresh salty cologne. Dry, more woods. I'm not getting any rum, but am enjoying the woods. This is probably too masculine for me to wear, though.

Strong buttered whiskey at first, then fades to soap. Huh? Kind of a manly soapy soap. Not for me.

In the imp and wet, I'm getting soft, earthy soil. On, no soil, a bit of fungus, and then it dries to a most beautiful sweet woody slightly powdery blend. I'm so glad I tried this, it really meshes with my skin chemistry quite well. I thought a mushroom scent would equal dirt and fungus, but this is not at all like I thought it would be. Nice surprise, and I'll use the imp, maybe even upgrade. The only complaint I have, is that it fades pretty quickly.

This is pretty aged, obviously! I don't find anything harsh at all in this blend. It is a warm, slightly spicy black musk. I love black musk, so you could probably dip it in something vile, and I'd still like it. I love this, though it does fade pretty fast on me.

2011 Version: Perfect fresh red rose, along with the greenery. This smells like the inside of a florists cooler, in a good way. If I were a rose lover, I'd be all over this. I do enjoy rose on occasion, and this certainly fits the bill.

I was sure I reviewed this, or at least tried it, but it has disappeared into lost post land. This is rich and bold, lush, and a touch spicy. It does go quite heady after awhile, which is not really my thing, but it is enjoyable in that it reminds me of somewhere warm and lush.

Strong eucalyptus at first, and is it ever god-awful on me. Strong, and I slathered too. Not getting any orange, but there is some pine in the background. The eucalyptus sticks around for a couple of hours, and I smell like I've o'd'd on Halls, and then dries to fungus. This is terrible on me, I've no wish to put it on ever again.

Wow, this one is sweet and girly. I thought for sure there was lotus in here, as it is much like bubblegum to me. OK, maybe a juicy fruit bubblegum. I'm guessing the apricot blossom is to blame, as orange blossom is really good on me, and white musk, well it's just not sweet. It's funny that the white musk isn't toning this down a bit, this is just a sweet, rather juvenile blend. Not for me.

Really green and refreshing in the container. I'm getting something like a blue-green algae scent, it kind of smells like the ocean, without the aquatic vibe. Once it hits the water, though, gone. The bubbles were only present for a couple of minutes.

Very fresh, bright airy floral. There's a kind of greenness at first, and then the honeysuckle comes out. The blend is now predominantly honeysuckle, but I don't mind the headiness. It reminds me of a warm spring day.
-
Fresh, citrussy floral. This is almost a glowing blend. It reminds me of late spring when everything is so lush, and the scent of flowers are filling the air. The honeysuckle does take over after awhile, but still, this reminds me of spring, and I'll enjoy the imp.

I'vw tried twice to post this review, hopefully third time is a charm. I get lots of coconut meat, no mango, mint or melon to speak of. Once it hits the water, I get hardly any scent. There are a few bubbles, but they quickly disappear.

Lot's of cherry dbr at first, with spice. After a bit, it becomes more dry and slightly cologney along with the fruit. I find dbr to be a little too loud with overwhelming sweet fruitiness, but the sandalwood makes this more wearable to me. I like this, it kind of reminds me of some other bpal, but I can't think of what it is right now. Wait, it has the same 'feel' as Mme Moriarty to me, though it doesn't smell the same, it's fruit with dry incensey dryness. Kind of the same vibe.

This has a weird pungent leafy bite at first, with some strong oak. Dryer, the pungent note is gone, and we're left with sweet warm woods. This is not unlike Haloes and Atlas, though Haloes is more feminine, and Atlas has more of a mallow thing going. At first, I thought this was more masculine, but I think now that it is more gender neutral. Gorgeous, but I do have Haloes, Osiris v4 and Antikythera Mechanism to satisfy my woody needs.

This sniffie is from a kind forumite, Thank You! I'm getting lots of black musk at first, and then it dries to a warm, ambery black musk. This is kind of like aged Haunted and Panther Moon, though it seems more warm and musky somehow. I really like this, and would definitely spring for a bottle if it were to become available.

This is kind of citrussy at first, then dries to a slightly cologney soft woods. I'm not getting any florals here, which is a good thing for me, it's basically a feminine wood blend on me, not too sweet. Nice! This is pretty much overbearing heady rose on me. I could have sworn there was jasmine here as well, but this is pretty much floral, no sandalwood or patch. Black Cherry Amaretto Christmas Puddin'
milo replied to boxinghelena's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
At first, lots (and lots!) of boozy amaretto and cherry. This almost smells like dried cherries soaked in booze. It's also got a bread/cakey thing going on. At this point, it's very festive, but it is a bit too boozy, even for me. After awhile, it smells like a high end salon shampoo, kind of a cherry freshness, no booze, and I smelled pretty good while working out. Still, it's not something I'd reach for. There's a bit of dusty note during the boozy phase that is kind of bothersome. I'll probably pass this one on. -
I'm just commenting on the actual scent at this time. I'm getting lots of spicy jasmine, honey, and maybe a touch of rose. Normally, the lab's jasmine bothers me, but this smells sensual and slinky. I'm getting a wee bit of a headache on sniffing, which has never happened before, and some sensitivity where I applied the oil, which hasn't happened to me before. I think I'll use this evenually, on someone I want to seduce, just to see if it works.

Lot's of DBR at first, then it turns int a sweet, musty rose. After awhile, the rose becomes more clear, and the dbr smells like cherry, so it's a cherry rose. Kind of pleasant, but not really me.

Very green at first, then the dirt comes out. I'm also getting a teeny bit of pom, but I wouldn't have known it was there but I peeked. Very strong at first, but it faded into a very faint dirt in no time flat. Not for me, but nice to try.
