    Undertow

Undertow A hint of mint? Upon first application, that's practically all I can smell. Mint with a hint of other things. Whew, it's very fresh and clean smelling. It's almost overpowering. As it sets, the mint calms and it sweetens. The juniper and lotus rise up and are weaving together. Which am I smelling the most? I'm not entirely sure. With the mint, it's an interesting trio. Still very fresh and clean - and in a lot of ways, quite commanding. My husband really likes this smell. It's gender neutral. If it were a season, it would be Winter or Spring - but especially Winter. Not really my thing. Though, I'm not big on mint. It's good in toothpaste and mouthwash, but that's about it for me. My husband, on the other hand, is crazy about mint, which is one of the reasons he clicks with this scent. That, and he likes how fresh and clean it feels. [1 - Hate] .. [2 - Dislike] .. Once I had aired everything out and shook the migraine, I was ready to give the scent a fair test - using the minimal amount as I usually do. But, even that was too intense for me. The scent was not at all to my liking and the longer I wore it the more my migraine started to creep back. I eventually had to wash it off.

    Hemlock

Hemlock In the bottle and when wet, it has a strong green smell that is delightful. It's herb-y, and a little sharp, as if there is some mint. As it dries, the mint note fades and becomes warm, almost subtly spicy. I can't help but think of Christmas when I breathe this scent deeply - it's like a warm house with a fresh Christmas tree. Or, like walking through a dense forest and smelling the trees as they brush against your coat. This also reminds me of fresh herbs, so fresh they are still sprouting from their warm soil - not yet cut. This scent is natural and home-y. It's gender neutral. And, despite it reminding me of Christmas, it really could be any season - considering how it also feels like forest, or fresh herbs on a kitchen windowsill. Mmm. Love it, and I can't wait to test this one on my husband. [1 - Hate] .. [2 - Dislike] .. [3 - Like] .. [4 - Really Like] .. [5 - Love] 5/4 : I actually didn't care too much for it in the bottle, it came off too minty. But applied, it was love. The only thing keeping it from being a 5 is the mint - which is, fortunately, very subtle. Although, despite my aversion to mint, it does work in this scent - minty like a candy cane or some sharp herbs.

    The Dodo

The Dodo This scent trumps all others that I've tried thus far. It is just perfect. Warm, spicy, sexy. Gender-neutral. Autumn. Mmm. It also has a delightful incense quality. This is definitely a keeper. [1 - Hate] .. [2 - Dislike] .. [3 - Like] .. [4 - Really Like] .. [5 - Love] 5 : It's funny, the scent I've loved the most thus far is my shortest review. Typical, I do get quiet when it comes to things being just right.

    The Caterpillar

The Caterpillar Ooh. What a lovely, complex floral with a faint touch of incense. Distinctly feminine. It makes me feel as though I'm walking through a mature garden on a hot summer day - the sun lifting various flowers' scents into a bouquet that confuses the senses. The feel of incense adds to that confusion. It certainly does have a lazy feel to it, casual, comfortable and warm. As it wears, it smells powdery; which makes me think of classy 1940's movie actresses in their powder-rooms. Overall, this scent makes me feel uber-feminine and summer happy. I definitely will be wearing this again. [1 - Hate] .. [2 - Dislike] .. [3 - Like] .. [4 - Really Like] .. [5 - Love] 4 : I do remember thinking it was a bit too floral, despite it leaving an overall positive impression. I think this is an Imp that I'll have to re-review another time.

    Phantasm

Phantasm Both in the vial and upon first application, my first thought was lemon candies. It's so sweet and lemon, I practically start salivating. As it dries, the scent softens and fades. Green tea arises, and the sweet quality has a delicate floral feel. This scent is so delicate, I daresay it's feminine. It's fresh and friendly, it feels like Spring. In less than 15 minutes the scent has become so faint that it's nearly gone. Beautiful. I wish it lasted. I wonder if a heavier application would help? I usually apply very lightly. *goes off to re-apply* *Edit* After re-applying, not once, but twice at different times during the day and in different amounts - it still faded just as quickly. After it sets for a while, the lemon and green tea disappear entirely, leaving a faint dusty floral. It's not bad, but not really "me". [1 - Hate] .. [2 - Dislike] .. [3 - Like] .. [4 - Really Like] .. [5 - Love] 3 : It's lasting power is very disappointing and it's leftover smell is uninspiring. The initial scent is so yummy, it really is a tease.

    Eve

Eve This is a distinctly feminine scent. Upon first application, it is overpowering. The smell is a cross between an old lady floral perfume and baby powder. When I ask my husband to smell it, all he can say is that "It's strong." As it wears, it mellows out. It is a warm, but heavy floral. It is a summer scent. My husband smells it again, I ask him what he thinks and he says, "not bad, a bit too Gramdma-y." I agree. It has a distinctly mature feel to it. Beneath the heavy floral, I still detect baby powder. I think this scent would work best on older ladies, but it certainly isn't for me. [1 - Hate] .. [2 - Dislike] .. [3 - Like] .. [4 - Really Like] .. [5 - Love] 2 : Well, it isn't gross, but it isn't exactly pleasant, either.

    Cockaigne

Cockaigne This is a very sweet, warm scent. It feels like a bakery, with cake or frosted buns fresh out of the oven. It's inviting like an Autumn harvest, or like goodies during the holidays. This scent is gender neutral. I first tried it on my husband, as it reminded me of the pound cake scented candle he likes. It smelled comforting on him. As it faded, it had a very faint smoke feel to it that I really liked. It is a definite foodie smell. It's rich, so I can't see either of us wearing it regularly, although it would be fun to wear occasionally throughout the holiday season. [1 - Hate] .. [2 - Dislike] .. [3 - Like] .. [4 - Really Like] .. [5 - Love] 4 : There are fleeting moments when this scent is a bit too much, but those moments really are very fleeting. That keeps it from being a 5, but it certainly is lovely enough to remain a 4.
