Seajewel Report post Posted March 10, 2023 A fragrance inspired by the atmosphere and art direction of the film as a whole — its layers of grit and ooze, pop-art colors standing out against a starless void, clumps of debris, fake flowers, vials of mystery fluid, rumpled straitjackets and crisp lab coats. Green amber, jasmine bud, cotton blossom, eucalyptus, secondhand smoke, dirt, and petitgrain.
PancakesRaichu Report post Posted April 20, 2023 (edited) Awww yeah, this is a lovely mixed bag of scents which blend together in such an interesting way! If the colours of pops of lime green shapes against a black void had a scent, it would be this! Even though apple is not a scent note here, it feel close to an imitation of someone who never smelt apple. As if it was a fruit that became instinct and of almost mythological status -an idea of what an apple smells like to someone who has never held one! This is fruity, the nicotine is very apparent although not too strong....I feel like this is a great "smells so interesting that you could wear it to work but not so daring that everyone else would panic and wonder what it was." I wear this perfume to work. I love this perfume. It isn't very strong so far (but mine is only a few weeks old so far) and yet it lasts all day. It's interesting, it's exciting, it's intriguing, it's BPAL. Would it be enough to cure Mrs. Van Houten? Edited April 20, 2023 by PancakesRaichu
bygraveyardlight Report post Posted May 13, 2023 (edited) Warm, earthy (but not really dirty?) and mysterious. It doesn't smell like fabric but it smells like someone attractive's jacket- it's all in a haze of smoke (and sex I daresay). I don't really know what some of these notes smell like individually, and this is quite well blended. Cozy and dark although there's a touch of brightness to it for sure- it doesn't feel weighed down at all by that sexy nicotine. Edit: coming back to say now that it's settled there's something in here that reminds me of Yorick (one of my fave gcs so I'm not mad at alll) Edited June 29, 2023 by bygraveyardlight
MonBon Report post Posted June 7, 2023 (edited) This is such a fascinating shifty atmospheric! It's both grimy and clean, chaotic and composed. Upon initial application, the green amber mingles with the eucalyptus and wrestles with a nicotinic smoke in a way that reminds me of a Vegas casino. Exciting pops of color & light, laughter and commotion, faraway smoke and overconfidence in the air, softest whisper of minty gum breath on a passing stranger... which ultimately settles into a polished sophistication, with a perfume-y edge. Nothing is overwhelming, it's all so perfectly executed. It's not laundry detergent or indolic jasmine, it's ever so slightly smoky, green and lively. I received a sample of this and it caught me off guard how much I'm digging this! This is the kind of human that smells mayyyybe 87% trustworthy, 13% roll the dice 🎲 Edited June 7, 2023 by MonBon
Fancyfetus Report post Posted June 2 So glad I got my hands on a sample of this one! This fragrance is downright bizarre - but only if you're paying attention. In passing it's a pleasant, gently citrusy perfume with a bit of sweetness. Very wearable day to day. Inoffensive. But on close inspection, it's slightly unnerving. I can smell the starless void? A liminal, flat nothing. It isn't inky black like the night sky, but matte like black paint. It smells echoey, in a way that's reminiscent of an indoor pool but without the chlorine. There is the definite hint of cigarette smoke, but it really is just a hint. The comparison to a Vegas casino is dead on - a whisper of cigarette beneath fragrance. Something in this is just bright enough to keep you from hurtling off into the void without a tether. Maybe the petitgrain and eucalyptus help to keep you [just barely] grounded. There is dirt in this. Not soil or earth but dry, dead dirt. I'll keep testing this to decide if I need the full size. I adore this as an art piece, but I'm not sure how much I'll really wear it.
