jiggahava Report post Posted March 29 Fig and guava blend so beautifully together. It's an earthy yet creamy fruit blend. It reminds me of a beloved fruity shampoo I used when I was young, and that's not a bad thing! It's soft and easy to wear. A beautiful, juicy pick me up. sea turtle Report post Posted April 21 This smells as if you're eating a dried fig (one of the fancier, chewy ones) while browsing a quiet antique shop, complete with complete with dust particles floating through the stream of sunlight from the front window. Very heavy on the dried/earthy elements and not as fruity or creamy as I expected! I will add the caveat that my decant had about an hour's rest out of the mail. s feral Report post Posted April 30 jammy fig at first, leaning very berry purple with the addition of the cherry like almond, then tart guava moves the scent from sweet jam toward sour unripe fruit. the fruits rest on a bed of dry sandalwood & sweet hay- those two notes meld well with the almond fig but are kind of at odds with the tartness of the guava. the almond gradually blooms & the creaminess unifies the scent. for most of wear this is an almond cream scent on me with a little dry sandalwood, chewy sweet hay, & a teeny bit of tart guava. almond can be really intense & overpowering to me but the almond cream here is light bodied & silky. i was expecting more patchouli oomph from this & wouldn’t mind if that’s the direction it ages, but it’s quite pretty in its current form too. samanare Report post Posted May 4 Spiced fig. This is mostly a fig scent with a little bit of spice from the patchouli on me. The fig is definitely deep, purple, and slightly towards the foodie side. The added spice reads more as baking spices to me than patchouli. I don't get the other notes, but the fig is noticeably vibrant, in addition to being earthy with the added spice. Elspethdixon Report post Posted May 4 In the imp: sweet tropical fruit plus almond cream (more guava then fig) Wet/freshly applied: fruity almond, with just a hint of something sour/musty that might be the patchouli. The throw from a few inches away is a slightly fruity sandalwood. On my hair (freshly applied): creamy, fruity sandalwood and almond with a hint of something sour/rancid (why does patchouli exist?) After about five minutes the off note vanishes from my skin and a sweet/warm hay note starts to come forward. The guava is stronger on my hair, where the overall scent after the initial drydown is fruity/tropical with a hint of sourness (the rancid hint from the patchouli sticks around longer after the initial drydown, alas, but eventually vanishes after about twenty minutes), while the hay/almond/sandalwood is stronger on my skin, where after the initial almond fruit smoothie blast it fades down into more of a soft, sweet “your skin but better” scent. Unusually, it actually has a much longer wear time as a skin scent then it does in my hair: the tropical sour-sweet guava scent lasted on my hair until about midday, but I could still get faint traces of Fig Vulva on my skin at bedtime if I put my nose to my wrist. VetchVesper Report post Posted May 11 (edited) This is reminding me a lot of Tweedledum, though it definitely has its own vibe, along with more complexity. Ripe, earthy fig and woody patchouli are the most prominent notes on me, with the hay note joining the party during dry down. I don't really get a purple vibe, nor do almond cream and guava make an appearance other than, perhaps, to add some sweetness. It goes a bit masculine on my skin actually, and I'm a bit bummed about it. BUT - if you're into fig scents and/or Tweedledum, you'll probably enjoy this. Little Bird Report post Posted May 22 (edited) I thought that fig and guava was an unusual combo, and it is odd for the first hour. Woody-raisin fig with a guava note that doesn't smell like ripe guava to me, but does remind me of the taste of the mini guavas I got from Costco last fall - sort of tart, crisp, and a little watery, refreshing, and a tad herbal. The almond cream is not a strong cherry/almond extract scent, more of a cool, clean, creamy milk with an impression of grainy almond and a drop of almond extract (whiff of cherry every once in a while). There's a soft, brown, earthy patchouli behind those notes, and the sandalwood bolsters the woody elements of the fig. After two hours, this is mostly a fig and milk scent, with the fig smelling more pink and sweet rather than woody or of raisins, and the milk note smells very clean, but still rich and creamy. Almost shampoo-like, but not soapy at all. I just wish that this weren't so light on my skin. It's one of those blends that I can't smell unless my nose is right against my skin. I'll have to try making it into a spray and using it in my hair. In the same family as blends like Nonae Caprotina and Milk Moon 2020. Teamama Report post Posted May 31 My experience with Fig Vulva is the "earthy" one. From start to finish, it's mostly twiggy, rooty patchouli (not the armpit kind,) with figgy sweetness, a little sharp guava, bitter almond, & very dry sandalwood. I can't pick out the cream or hay notes. It stays sharp & bright in a locket, but softens to a sweet woody patchouli-fruit on my skin after about 3 hours. tinyvulture Report post Posted June 1 I often equate fig with earthy, cozy, blends, but here the guava makes it so fun and summery! And patchouli always pairs perfectly with fig. I wouldn’t say I’m getting any almond, sandalwood, or hay. Overall it’s a cute, fun blend and I’d love to see more guava-forward scents from the lab!
Cali Report post Posted July 21 A more fiery blend, with a deliciously sweet fig, almond cream and guava - where the sandalwood and patchouli smell like they're having a battle of who's the strongest. Dunno what my skin is doing here, but while it's not a particularly strong ampy one on me, these just shove the rest of the lovely notes aside and leave me wanting for more. Meh.
