PancakesRaichu Report post Posted March 24 This smells like a bookshop to me. Quite a new and clean one. I may be getting "clean" from the lemon. And "paper" from the sandalwood. This perfume LITERALLY smells like the page of a new book. It smells melancholic somehow. As if someone had been crying and refuged to a bookstore to read fiction and "escape." I LOVE this perfume and I am excited to see how it ages. It's sad, but comforting. Sometimes perfumes give the complete opposite to what one would expect. Don't go sleeping on this one! It has potential!
samanare Report post Posted May 1 A light lemon resin scent. Definitely more of a lemon frankincense scent than a straight lemon scent. And while I don't get the cream note, there is a soft sweetness to the scent. I would describe it as hazy if it weren't so light. The sandalwood also doesn't stick out on its own and is enveloped by the frankincense, making it more cozy. And lastly there's whiffs of almost rubbery smoke, which I think is the tabac. It's a pleasant overall slightly smoky, slightly fuzzy, lemon resin scent. I think I'd like this more is Vintage Wise Man Blow Mold wasn't fresh in my mind (which is more lemony and less smokey and cozy sandalwood).
Teamama Report post Posted June 9 Several Penises is my standout Luper this year. The sandalwood cream & lemon make me happy, instantly. It's got a bit of a classically masc vibe, probably from the tabac. Over time the lemon note fades gracefully, & creamy smooth sandalwood + frankincense are left. I have layered it with Pistachio Ambrosia several times. Fantastic pairing!
OxfordComma Report post Posted July 18 This is really nice. My absolute favorite of all the Shungas I've tried. Creamy, bright sandalwood with a round lemon note make a smooth sandalwood dreamsicle glaze over the chewy tobacco, and the whole thing is glorious. The tobacco here reminds me of the one from Fake News maybe? But where that was hard, gilded, and luxe, this is almost cuddly. The same scent after a tough day at the office, now at home in a fuzzy robe, sipping lemon herbal tea. I've got a partial bottle but I'm really considering a back up, which I never ever do.
