tigermilking Report post Posted March 9 Wow! I have been having great luck with the Shungas this year and this one is no exception. Full disclosure, I was not sure about it in the bottle or wet. This one starts more muted before blooming on my skin. The honey and coconut milk were the first to take center stage; it never got too sweet, though, which is great because my skin amplifies sweet things. The red currant was hard to pick out on its own and seemed to just lightly color the edges. It stayed very coconut milk-forward throughout the first few hours of dry-down. I put this on around 6:30 AM and now it's about 11 AM and now I'm getting a honeyed (Nepalese, possibly?) amber. Not too thick, not at all cloying. It's sexy and confident, without demanding attention. Grounded, effortless. Infinitely wearable, my skin but better. I am obsessed.
becca_s Report post Posted April 6 Mmm ... honey and coconut milk with hints of red currant. This is really lovely. I think that coconut milk softens the honey and red currant so that they don't become too sweet or cloying. The amber is subtle and comes out further into the dry down. The final stage of of this is a soft honeyed, coconut milk with a background of red currant and amber. It's kind of a comforting, happy scent, that I've been reaching for quite alot. sea turtle Report post Posted April 30 This is my favorite of this year's Lupers! Interestingly, I get a certain minty coolness in the opening, despite the listed notes, but this dissipates somewhat quickly. The red currant and honey combine to an almost-mainstream fruity sweetness, but the coconut milk really keeps it in check with a creamy smoothness. The coconut milk isn't coconut-y to my nose, but is instead a neutral milkiness. Comfy and snuggly without the usual "fall" or "winter" snuggly vibes if that makes sense! The only thing keeping me from immediately FS-ing this is that after a few hours, this turns a bit waxy on my skin.
samanare Report post Posted May 4 Pretty much what one would expect from these notes. The honey and coconut milk are the strongest notes on me, combining into a honeyed coconut milk scent that is not quite foodie. I get a fruity, tart ting that I attribute to the currant, though it's not especially berry like. And I can't pick out the amber, but here's a depth to the scent that doesn't come from the other notes. Overall, an elevated honeyed coconut drink scent. s feral Report post Posted May 10 (edited) sweet honey with a heavier creaminess & a glimmer of tart fruit. this one wears rich & mostly gourmand on me at first with a powdery warm amber keeping it from going all the way there. it gradually sheds some of the heavy, gourmand richness & gets a lot fruitier, the base calling to mind perfumed powdered milk. i went from being unsure of this one to really digging it. fruity milk & honey with a gently sultry amber. no obvious coconut notes to me which i am very ok with. my one complaint is the honey component is a bit sweet for me but i think this is definitely a crowd pleaser. has pretty substantial throw for me as well.
