samanare Report post Posted April 11 Slightly lemony resin. The incense is the strongest note by far on me. I cannot pick out the amber on it's own and I think it's adding to the incense. The lemon peel is there, but largely smothered by the resin notes. And I can't detect the other notes. Overall, I'd describe this as a resin heavy hair gloss, with just a wedge of lemon. Teamama Report post Posted June 8 (edited) Winter Dildo isn't something I'll wear a lot, but it's magnificent. This is the kind of scent that will be hoarded by someone that it's perfect for. I'm struggling to review it properly because it's got so much going on, & it's so far outside what I usually wear. I bought a decant with the idea Winter Dildo would remind me of the classic Zen stories of tea house women dishing out Dharma to travelers along with tea. What I experienced is a lemony, green, complex, magical incense ride. Sweet amber accounts for the sweetness, which is balanced by green tea's bitterness. The green tea & green cardamom pod notes ground the blend. Their green-ness isn't fresh from the garden, but still vigorous & (for lack of better words coming to mind,) thrumming with potential. There's a faint, delicate "chilled" note that I'm pretty sure is related to the well-loved BPAL "snow." I've had bad luck with that note on my skin, but it's very nice in my hair. I don't register smokiness, but I do get an overall incense vibe. Winter Dildo deserves a fanbase. I hope it finds one. Edited to add: Teadaughter, whose favorite BPAL fragrance is Fae Forest atmo spray, has adopted my decant. Edited June 9 by Teamama Update
quantquill Report post Posted June 29 Purchased an Ajevie chonk (1 oz decant) from a pre-order, which I received in April. I gave it a test run today, and what I mostly get from it is effervescence with a bit of gingery lime. Not exactly the smell of ginger ale, there's a subtle supporting layer of incense, but a recognizable scent of "sparkling ginger lemon" that wafts out of a glass after you pour your ginger ale. I realize there's no ginger listed, maybe that's a combo of the tea, cardamom and amber tricking my nose. Pleasant, for sure! A very "work safe" scent. It won't raise any eyebrows (though it may make people crave a sparkling beverage). However, I prefer spicier blends (Mischief, Who Is Nibbling at My House, Morocco, and Dorian, I'm looking at you!) and have a lot of bottles. I think I'll destash this chonk to a loving home. 8-)
