Orafish Report post Posted April 3 Heavy on the apple, low on the booze. I collect the lab's brandy notes, while present it is very demure here. The apple is the star of the show, fruity and bright. If this were a mixed drink it would be a tall glass of apple juice with half a shot of brandy.
doomsday_disco Report post Posted April 17 I agree with Orafish. This is predominantly an apple scent, with the brandy being more about the cask it was created in than being outright boozy, and not appearing until several hours of wear, after the apple has calmed down. The apple also doesn't smell particularly boozy on me, but like a fresher apple that has been grated and turned to pulp (is that the right word when it comes to apples?). I don't dislike this, but I don't see myself reaching for it over other apple scents in my collection. If you're wanting a non-spiced apple scent, this might be your thing, but if you're wanting a particularly boozy apple scent, you might be disappointed. samanare Report post Posted May 2 I had a different experience with this scent. It's noticeably more booze than apple on me, though both are clearly present. The brandy note here and nature of the scent remind me of Inebriated Birbs Guzzling Punch While a Scandalized Cat Looks On, though obviously with apple here instead of lemon. The apple note also has a slight spiced quality to it, taking it almost to fall territory. Overall, I'm more reminded of bobbing for apples in booze or a fall drink that was heavy-handed on the brandy.
splendidissima Report post Posted September 2 I think I've also got the booze-forward version! Honestly, that's...mostly what I get? It's like...a small, shy, demure apple got drenched in brandy. I'm not mad about it - I like the brandy note - but I wanted more apple; I love the Lab's apple + something else scents, usually, and this one feels less balanced to me - it did go the way of some of the last New Year's, maybe, if that's what I'm thinking of...the Inebriated Birbs route, as mentioned above!
