doomsday_disco Report post Posted April 11 Bourbon Vanilla and Teakwood.
dancingchair Report post Posted May 18 This is simple but very nice. The teakwood is dry, almost like sandalwood. Sandalwood is often high-pitched and sharp on me, but this is a mellow wood. It almost smells a bit aquatic somehow, but this is not an aquatic perfume by any means. The vanilla is gorgeous. It's not foody, but it's clean and maybe almost the slightest bit floral. I feel like this one would be very fun to layer because I feel like this duo is a component I'd love in so many things. It's not complex, but it doesn't really need to be because both notes are fabulous.
feyofthefellwood Report post Posted May 18 This one isn't what I expected, but I still like it a lot. Instead of the deep, woody teak note in Antikythera Mechanism and Glowing Vulva, this one seems lighter and "greener." With the non-foody vanilla, the scent as a whole reads as a "green vanilla" to my nose. It's fairly light and unobtrusive.
roseus Report post Posted June 7 The vanilla is very sweet and light and that is all I get initially. The teak starts to creep in but like stated above it is not a deep, dark teak note. As it dries the scent is more teak-forward, a light but rich dry wood with a light halo of vanilla. Very pretty!
doomsday_disco Report post Posted June 7 On me, this is mostly a skin-musky vanilla, the same bourbon vanilla from the original Drag is for Everyone, with a light backdrop of teak. The teak in this is surprisingly tame on me. Everyone keeps saying Glowing Vulva is a your-skin-but-better scent, and it's not on me, as the teak screams at me in that one. This is more of a your-skin-but-better scent to my nose. The vanilla is not very sweet on me, and it is not a floofy, billow-y vanilla. This is not something I need more of, but now I'm wondering how similar the new Bourbon Vanilla hair gloss will be to this.
RoseThornAndOak Report post Posted August 6 Oof, this is good. I agree with the above. Your skin but better, green but dry vanilla with woods. Soft, not much throw but holds it's own. It's not super bourbony on drydown. Another old world vibe kind of blend. Stands alone well, and I think this would layer gorgeously with The Storm, Raptures and Roses of Vice, Antikythera, No Man Is An Island, Inez, maybe even Diptyque's Eau Duelle, and maybe some tea blends. Fades kinda quick.
DiZZysTARdust Report post Posted August 18 not what i was picturing! the teakwood definitely gives this blend a very aquatic/cologne vibe. as this dries the vanilla comes out more giving the teak a sweeter/dryer edge. really, really nice teakwood showcase. i agree with some other reviews that this is a great skin scent, esp for places where a more neutral scent is better.
