Jenjin Report post Posted August 31 (edited) Newly-scythed hay and spiced ale. The Heats of August When summer opens, I see how fast it matures and fears it will be short; but after the heats of July and August, I am reconciled, like one who has had his swing, to the cool of autumn. – Ralph Waldo Emerson Artist - Pieter van der Heyden Edited August 31 by Jenjin
splendidissima Report post Posted September 18 Warm and autumnal! Lots of spiced ale, plus the Lab's hay note, dry and golden. It does feel like a late-summer-edging-into-autumn moment: sun-heated air, lots of golds and browns, a dark brown ale to sip as the sun goes down. No real sweetness except for the little whisper in the hay, the way grasses can be a little earthy-sweet. There's not a distinct booze note as much as just the scent of malty brown beer and some autumn spices, something like nutmeg or allspice. Good throw, too! bygraveyardlight Report post Posted October 8 Really lovely!! Very hay-forward on me, it's the same cozy and beautiful hay note that was in A Sheepfold, Moonlight. The spiced ale is just a warm , kinda appley spiced background. On my skin, it's s all about the hay which I'm not mad about.
GalliumSpider Report post Posted October 26 To me it's fruity (apple-y?) and sweet, with a lot of emphasis on sweet spices. After a little while I start getting something like... walnut? I wish I could drink a tea like this.
roseus Report post Posted Thursday at 09:02 AM Lots of soft golden hay with crisp apple and sweet, soft cinnamon (to me it smells like Ceylon cinnamon not cassia). Warm, cozy, and homey. It's sort of toeing the line between atmospheric and foodie on me.
