LavenderCoffee Report post Posted October 8 Ok, when I first tested this, it reminded me of type of darkness that not only takes all the light out of the room, but the sound too, and I thought of sound insulation. But now that I've given it some rest, the darkness has a comfy quality like a favorite black sweater. There are some notes in here that have a big bossy reputation, but they are all knitting together in a lovely way, and I could see this becoming a classic. If you're on the fence about the oud, I would still recommend giving this one a try. I'm not getting anything indolic, and it's not even super perfumey - more light woods that balance really well with the almond notes (also behaving!) and burnt caramel. However if you're looking for something sweeter and skewing more foodie, this might not be the blend for you. I was worried this would be too sweet, which is super subjective, but it's the perfect amount for me. No sticky honey-caramel-marzipan toothache. I was also concerned about whether the pumpkin would have spice in it at first, but I don't think this actually has any cinnamon in it, just a lightly spiced aspect in the oud. Anyway that's how it's wearing for me, and I'm enjoying the modest sillage and just-right amount of fall vibes. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
doomsday_disco Report post Posted October 30 (edited) The oud in this is non-indolic, the pumpkin in this is pumpkin spice without any buttery pumpkin, and the amaretto and almond paste notes are glorious. The honey adds an additional welcome sweetness. If only it stayed like it was during the wet phase of the scent! Unfortunately, the almond notes burn off, and it ends up being a mostly oud-centric blend with some spice on me, with only a hint of the creamy sweetness that came before. There were some cocoa absolute specks at the bottom of my decant vial that I was not able to incorporate into the scent no matter how much I rolled it, and I did not detect that note on my skin. PancakesRaichu Report post Posted November 1 This starts off as what I would describe as "slutty marzipan". I know that is a bit vague, but if you have this scent, you will know what I mean. Then the marzipan burns off after a few minutes and you can smell the cocoa nibs with a bit of pumpkin spice. It really morphs into something really subtle and also somewhat "cute."
