doomsday_disco Report post Posted September 15 All-consuming, relentless desire – deceptively luscious, murderously brooding, and blindingly sensual: blood musk, black cherry, crimson amber, 21-year aged patchouli, golden saffron, jasmine sambac, and black rose. The vampire is prone to be fascinated with an engrossing vehemence, resembling the passion of love, by particular persons. In pursuit of these it will exercise inexhaustible patience and stratagem, for access to a particular object may be obstructed in a hundred ways. It will never desist until it has satiated its passion, and drained the very life of its coveted victim. But it will, in these cases, husband and protract its murderous enjoyment with the refinement of an epicure, and heighten it by the gradual approaches of an artful courtship. In these cases it seems to yearn for something like sympathy and consent. In ordinary ones it goes direct to its object, overpowers with violence, and strangles and exhausts often at a single feast. elissamay Report post Posted October 8 Heady. The cherry is the same to me as what's in Moon When the Cherries Turn Black, and it hits first. The deep red musk slinks around the jasmine sambac, and that hits next. If you don't jive with jasmine, this might be a rough one, but fortunately jasmine sambac works for me. The rose is somewhere in the background, not a main character. As rich as this patch must be, I'm barely finding it. It must be just keeping it all bound to the ground. Definitely not a subtle scent; dark and divine.
asoursweetsixteen Report post Posted October 21 ohhh yeah. oh yeah. in the bottle, it's very licorice, but it changes near instantly. the blood musk + cherry is giving me major Blood flashbacks (in a great way). it's very delicious and sexy especially thanks to the patchouli. I can't make out the rose much besides just faintly in the background, so don't let it scare you off if you aren't a rose lover like me. it's just exactly what the description says: luscious, brooding, and sensual. a must if you like Blood or the idea of blood + patchouli
LavenderCoffee Report post Posted October 26 wowza this one has OOMPH, which is lovely if you like a patchouli scent with a nice bit of throw like I do (I'm about to go to the local organic grocery and I'm worried it might even be too much for the crunchy ppl lol). it's giving snake oil vibes too, like around the corner from serpent in the roses (musk patch amber rose), with cherry instead of vanilla. and I like the cherry in this, which is the note I wasn't sure about, its appropriately bloody. agree with heady and sexy and yeah, I love everything about it. another amazing carmilla scent
doomsday_disco Report post Posted October 30 This one starts off somewhat vegetal on me, and I believe that's due to the musk. I also get the cherry, patchouli, jasmine, and amber, but this settles into pretty much a red musk only blend on me by the end of the day. I tried this twice, and although it started off vegetal on me twice, it smelled better on the back of my hand (with the cherry and amber briefly giving Moon When the Cherries Turn Black vibes) than it did on my upper arm (where the musk was much stronger and I got less cherry). I'm always chasing cherry scents, but I don't feel the need to add this one to my collection. Of the two Carmilla cherry blends I grabbed decants of, I prefer Die, Sweetly Die over this one. But someone who does better with red musk might have better luck with this blend.
Biocarbons Report post Posted November 1 Wet, this is fruity, waxy floral with golden amber. It reminds me a bit of crypt queen without the moss and dirt. The patch slowly emerges but remains a background supporting note.
