Distant, enigmatic, shadowed: delicate heliotrope and pale rose petals, muted and soft, resting atop a chilly, intimate base that blends white musk, cashmere woods, and a touch of tonka bean.

 

 

 

There was a coldness, it seemed to me, beyond her years, in her smiling melancholy persistent refusal to afford me the least ray of light.

There is a strange coolness to this scent, not so much actual cold as the absence of warmth in a vampire. The apparition starts off in a haze of white musk fluttering with pale petals, and if the rose isn't white, then it has just barely begun to flush pink. What appears to be a vaguely human shape is fleshed out by vanillic tonka and soft woods that may have the feel of a cashmere sweater, and cling as close, but this being can never feel warmth again because it is not human.

The heliotrope dominates the florals and while the floral notes are pale, they are not especially delicate on me. The florals just slightly dominate the cashmere note, the latter of the two does get stronger with wear. The white musk can't quiet be picked out on its own, instead creating the mentioned chilliness to the scent. I like the description of absence of warmth in the previous post. It reminds me more of hard glass than cold. The inspiration of a forced smile that does not reach the eyes comes through.

I really love this one, but I find it difficult to describe.

 

On my skin this is a soft floral scent over a base of cashmere, tonka and woodsy notes. I can pick out both the heliotrope and rose petals and they blend beautifully with the cashmere and Tonka. The cashmere adds a hint of luxury to this scent. There is also woodsy note here as well in the background. To my nose the white musk is more like a skin musk, which I'm pleased about.

 

To me this is a complex and sophisticated scent, while also being quite soft and alluring. I love that there are almost layers to this scent. I will be ordering a back up bottle because I like it so much.
