doomsday_disco Report post Posted September 16 The consuming intensity of a passion that claims body and soul, blurring the boundaries between longing and obsession, lust and loathing. Ylang ylang and clove evoke the heat of skin against skin, bruised by bittersweet blackcurrant honey kisses. Sometimes after an hour of apathy, my strange and beautiful companion would take my hand and hold it with a fond pressure, renewed again and again; blushing softly, gazing in my face with languid and burning eyes, and breathing so fast that her dress rose and fell with the tumultuous respiration. It was like the ardor of a lover; it embarrassed me; it was hateful and yet over-powering; and with gloating eyes she drew me to her, and her hot lips traveled along my cheek in kisses; and she would whisper, almost in sobs, “You are mine, you shall be mine, you and I are one for ever.”
theredkilt Report post Posted November 8 This is CLOVE balm on my skin. The clove note has exterminated everything around it. It's slowly warming up, but still is a clove one-man show. This is for all the clove note lovers out there.
doomsday_disco Report post Posted November 13 (edited) This is one of the last Weenies I tested because I was so afraid of how heady the ylang ylang was in the decant. And indeed, once applied, it is very loud honeyed ylang ylang during the wet phase of the scent. Then the clove makes its way to the front and ends up being the dominant note throughout wear. It's very clove-y once the clove asserts itself, and I really enjoy it! The honeyed ylang ylang resides in the background throughout the rest of the day. Like the other Carmilla scents, I'm not getting much blackcurrant (although I could smell a hint of it in the decant). Although I enjoy how clove-centric this becomes, that ylang ylang and honey in the beginning is too much for me to want more than my decant. Brianna Gemini Report post Posted Monday at 12:42 PM Agree with others only clove lovers need apply BUT it's not the goth, edgy varietal. It's hard to explain...more a ...bougie?.... softened? Clove. The honey and ylang ylang are very hard to sniff out individually on the skin unless I am searching for them. I'm not getting any black currant. Overall a warm, spicy wearable clove with close throw & medium wear. Pairs quite nicely with Shelter in Tomb HG I suspect aging may deepen the honey.
Ennikar Report post Posted Tuesday at 09:36 PM This one is nice. That's not a terribly specific descriptor, but it's basically how I feel about it. In the opening I'm not too sure about it, as ylang ylang and I have a mixed relationship and it's very present up front, alongside the honey. The clove takes a few minutes to come out, and when it does it's a soft, honeyed clove mixed with a little bit of the floral ylang ylang - almost like a sweet carnation, but paler, less rose adjacent. If you tell me there's blackcurrant in this I believe you, but it's very much in the background. Overall... it's nice.
