Jenjin Report post Posted September 16 (edited) The tone of her reply was lower than expected, and more demanding. Pumpkin cream, caramel-coated marshmallow, crushed candy corn, lemon peel, and belladonna honey. Edited September 16 by Jenjin
RoseThornAndOak Report post Posted October 16 (edited) Jolly is darling. She beckens you through an overgrown garden to a crickedy old house. She wants you to make little caramel banana muffins with her. You're the one kid that isn't freaked out by her doll costume so you come in. You figure her costume is pretty dope and would win at a contest, hands down. Once inside, she says "Mamma always said 'too much cream is too much cream' so leave it for the Poinsettia Gown girlies and just add a smidgen with some pumpkin! Then add lemon peel for sparkle, and because we can't get fresh bananas". She throws in some airy marshmallows and a dollop of caramel. "When it comes out of the oven, we put candy corn on top!" You try those delicious muffins and wonder why you never hung out with Jolly before because she's really nice. The taste of candy corn melds with all the sweetness, and leaves a waxy candy goo on top. "There's belladonna honey in the pumpkin cream, but just enough. It's more belladonna than honey. From Mamma's garden, you know. You'll be like me!" You realize Jolly is not a costume. She was once like you, and she's just lonely. So you die eating them delicious belladonna-laced, caramel marshmallow, mock-banana muffins and become just like Jolly. You come to peace with it. You get to eat them muffins and you're in on the game now, too. You do, however, kinda regret being a T-rex for Halloween this year, and now, all subsequent years. Invidiana Report post Posted October 17 (edited) Jolly is every treat at the autumn fair swirled together, something from the old mill shops from my childhood that have all but vanished. There is the creamy filling of pumpkin pies, the chewy burnt-sugar satisfaction of fresh caramels wrapped in wax paper, the fragrant, but not overwhelming, sweetness of local honey, and handfuls of candy corn and lemon drops. Maybe you will walk away grinning like a pumpkin and not notice the jack-o-lantern glow you think surrounds you is actually coming from your own face. LacedDoll Report post Posted November 8 I'm so sad I didn't like this one Once it dries I smell caramel and candy corn only. I don't know what belladonna smells like, let alone belladonna honey, so I'm not sure if I'm picking this note up at all... The description sounded lovely but it doesn't mesh well with my skin. icecreamcone Report post Posted November 18 I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s getting a banana note from this! I know it’s not listed, but on skin it smells like mashed bananas with a little bit of sweetness added.
Cali Report post Posted December 14 Ooo, very reminescent of the image on first sniff, adorable pumpkiny merryness with a dark undertone. It's not "heavy" though, the darkness doesn't drag it down, and all the sweet notes are fluffy and light, and soooo happy. Absolutely getting the 'banana' here, but it's definately all the notes working together to create the idea of the banana. I can still pick them apart outside of that, but it's a lovely, LOVELY happy 'lil 'fume. Bananabananabanana. 🍌
