BPAL Madness!

The smile widened and the long neck bowed, offering.

Dried apples, sour apple mash, and molasses.

There is something sinister about this treat, far from brightly colored candies eagerly received on an well-lit porch, but something curious offered by the gnarled hands of something that is reluctant to let you see its face until its head emerges from the shadows and you run shrieking into the night, forgetting whether or not you dropped whatever it gave you. The sour apple mash is some strong moonshine, with something of a dusty feel coming from the dried apple, and while the molasses is not at the forefront, there is an undercurrent of it adding a dark but mild sweetness. This is the type of apple scent that makes me think of the creaky old cider press at a local farm that has long since been razed to the ground. While there are no woody or dust notes here, it feels as if there are jars of dried apples and apple liquor and molasses sitting in the kitchen of an abandoned farmhouse that is almost definitely haunted.

The Treat Keeper:

Bottle Sniff is nothing special.
First applied, it starts off a bit sugary with slightly sour apples.

Then the magic happens!

Maybe ten minutes later it smells like apple-flavored hard candy (think Jolly Ranchers). At this point the sourness has faded and is only in the background to add some complexity. Overall this is a really good apple candy scent!

I’ll be keeping the decant and possibly will upgrade to a full bottle.

Edit: On drydown it loses its candy/sugary scent and is sour mashed apples. Will retest another day!

I mostly get the sour apple mash, sweetened by the molasses. The apple mash smells like a mashed up green apple. The molasses keeps it from being too sour, while the apple keeps the molasses from being to sweet.

I don't think I need a bottle (I'll probably retest before it disappears just to be sure), but I like this enough to keep the decant!

I expected a rich, sweet scent due to the molasses, but the dried apple and alcoholic sour mash combine to create a sharp hard cider scent instead. I like it.

I have enough apple scents that I don’t think I’ll need a bottle, but I’m definitely keeping my decant.

This went all kinds of weird. In the decant I get Molasses, Apple candy, Bubblegum, and oddly, a herbal floral note similar to Verbena, like she ganged up with a high pitched White Musk to beat the Apple, Molasses, and Bubblegum to a pulp. After a while, Apple tells them to take a hike and puts up her dukes defending her buddies Molasses and Bubblegum because they're sweethearts and who TF would do such a thing. She throws in a few spicy licks telling Verbena and White Musk where they can put their flowers. This battle goes on for a quick minute. Ultimately, all of them get whisked away by the plastic bag police and get locket up. Welp, that was a juicy night and apparently my skin is a battlefield.

Sorry but that's what I got: Verbena sweet syrupy apple bubblegum -> spicy apple molasses dumplings -> plastic apple. I'm gonna keep the decant because it will be beautiful in a locket.

On the right skin, this is going to be a gorgeous, syrupy, sweet spicy apple.
