doomsday_disco Report post Posted November 14, 2024 Ancient cypresses surrounding clusters of purple hyacinth, fallen leaves, and crosses crafted from white roses. A splash of rosewater, an immortelle hung on a tear-streaked marble tomb, nightshade berries, smoked lilac, warm beeswax, and a snuffed candle. patina Report post Posted December 20, 2024 (edited) I had to edit this because the first review was kind of a mess. In the vial I smelled candle and maybe a peppery ivy. On, there's hyacinth and other florals that usually make me think of spring. Kind of lilac colored. Underneath it is some sour cypress and poisonous smelling berries. The candlewax prevents it from getting too sour. This dries to something fairly light. Edited December 22, 2024 by patina
artisjok Report post Posted February 19 (edited) Recently had a bunch of purple hyacinths in my kitchen vase, so I’m pleased to be able to identify them in this blend! My first time smelling them in person, so I wouldn’t have had a reference before. Not my favorite floral, but I’m appreciating them at the moment. The roses are definitely there, and the beeswax gives a waxy sweetness to the blend. Later in the wear, I get more lilac and it feels fresher and more my style. I am surprise to be lacking the leaves & cypress, though I feel like they somehow give atmosphere to the scent without being obvious…. I can see there being marble present in the same way. It works well for the imagery of kneeling before a grave, lighting a candle, and offering flowers and prayers on a cool, yet sunny Autumn day. This isn’t something I would have been interested in even a year ago, but I’ve evolved into a multi-floral devotee very quickly. As the weather drops and the wind howls outside, I’m making soup and lighting candles, answering the children’s questions and whispering to my ancestors. This scent is a perfect accompaniment. Liquid Sword Report post Posted Tuesday at 12:01 PM I can't reall distinguish all the florals and green plants in perfumery, but I pick up on an almost aquatic background, with smoky violets and green notes. Definitely smells like the cutted stem of flowers. It's very atmospheric, fits the painting very well, and my appreciation for it only increases the more I wear it. I'd only apply a little, since the green note is quite dominating and could make me nauseous.
