millarca Report post Posted Sunday at 04:15 AM Y'all, this doesn't smell like shit!!! No, for reals. The warmth of a wonderfully hazy stable is all here. All of it. The apples are most prevalent wet, but it's not a fruity scent at all. As it dries, it just gets so mellow and rich, and pulls so close to the skin as to be intimate. There's the wood, the alfalfa (excellent hay choice, I'm sooo allergic to Timothy grass), and the leather is really very background. And then even further back past the sun-warm tack is something. Not even a scent, just an honesty and a frankness. Just the fact of a large animal's small home. It's so un-alarming and so mellow, so completely perfectly orchestrated; there is nothing at all to be scared of here. I went into this very Challenge-Accepted-cocky, and I was so gratified to discover *both* the accuracy of the description and also that it wasn't actually challenging. Just a beautiful late afternoon in a stable with the sun slanting through hay-dust and a solid, clean, frankly mammalian friend. If it were grander it would be a masterwork of world-creation for all time, but it's so skin-close that it's a barefoot, bareback precious friendship. I'm so glad I trusted this.
