Blueberry Lavender Lemon Crepes

Limoncello-soaked blueberries nestled between layers of golden crepe, topped with a splort of lavender whipped cream and sprinkled with tiny curls of lemon zest.

I don’t like straight up gourmands generally, because they turn my stomach, but I ordered this because I love lavender and was very excited by the prospect of a blueberry note. I wish this was ninety times the strength and eight times its current bottle size. I’ll let it age because it’s relatively fresh from the mail, but it’s so delicate right now! This is so SO yummy though. It makes me crave a cup of lavender and blueberry earl grey tea with cream and lemon, because that’s exactly what this smells of. I’m super pleased with this, and will be tucking it away in my velvet box to age.

In The Bottle: Blueberry-pie-filling blueberries. Definitely not the fresh kind, but these are YUMMY for sure!

Wet On Skin: hints of the limoncello start to emerge, as does little whisps of the buttery crepe. The pie filling is still present but much fainter at this stage.

Drydown: I get little whiffs of powdered sugar- not directly listed as a note, but not a surprise that such a thing would be in the mix. The blueberry peeks out a little bit more than during the wet stage, but not the HEY Blueberry! that was happening in the bottle, either. 

In All: low throw, a surprising "skin scent", a term I generally reserve for light musks. In this case, it's by no means an over-the-top gourmand as the description might suggest. It's incredibly delicate- which in itself conveys the spirit of the scent, in my humble opinion. That said, you might just want to slather this confection, just for the yum of it!

always tempted to try a blueberry lavender so I had to get a decant of this. it's unapologetically foodie when I first sniff the vial, a perfectly crisp-edged crepe with absolutely decadent amounts of sugar. surprisingly neither the lemon zest nor the limoncello are really coming through for me, but the blueberry is riiiich and slightly boozy as it goes on the skin, and this is where the sweet, creamy lavender peaks out. I wore this out to go to the store this morning and it wafted around me rather pleasantly like I'd been in the kitchen for hours beforehand. a few hours later it was mostly a baked golden powdered sugar scent with a murky purple background. very pleasant all around.
