Beaver Moon: Blackcurrant and Iced Lemon

Recommended Posts

The feel of swallowing a long cold draft of an Arnold Palmer after three hours of gardening in the hot sun: slaking heat and thirst at once. This smells so light and refreshing that I want to actually drink it (but please don't). It's an absolutely true iced lemon and tart purple-black fruit from application to drydown. Blackcurrant doesn't play well on my skin, but this has been delightful in my oil warmer. Strongly reminiscent of a good lemon-drenched iced tea, even though there's no tea note.

I full bottled Blackcurrant & Iced Lemon after trying a sample.  It smells masculine to me, but I love wearing scents that give off manly vibes, so that's all good.  I was worried about the 'iced' part, but the iced lemon smells like lemon sorbet tastes and that part only sticks around for about a half hour on me anyhow.  It's not a snow, aquatic, or ozone ice (nothing minty, sharp, or soapy to my nose). After a short while, it's all black currant, but not the usual, syrupy, jammy, sweet black currant that I tend to go for.  This smells like black currant found in a dark, chilly forest and then dried and turned into a black leather.  It's gourmand like fruit leather candy, but it also literally smells like a black leather jacket soaked in black currants.  It's really good and doesn't remind me of any other bpals in my collection (though it's a bit like a very stripped down version of Mancera's Cedrat Boise with a stronger black currant).  It also has impressive throw and staying power for a fruity scent.  I'm really glad that the 'iced' in the name didn't scare me off entirely because I've really been enjoying this blend.
