VioletChaos Report post Posted December 17, 2024 SMITTEN. Smitten smitten smitten! If you take the rich, dusty, vanilla of ORIGINAL Antique Lace - not the 2017 reboot, we are talking OG, mid-Aughts- and you replaced the faded florals with a powdery violet, you get this gorgeous specimen right here. I know we like to talk a big game 'round these parts, things getting compared in such and such manner to Antique Lace- I know. I KNOW. But I'm telling you, if you are even a LITTLE perked up by my assessment, you NEED to try this. You will be deeply saddened and have only yourself to blame when I hoard all existing bottles and won't share Kidding aside, this perfume is a standout. Don't be fooled by the idea of "just" two listed notes. This is an absolute keeper. 💜 💜 💜💜 💜
Akurarei Report post Posted January 2 The violet in this one is probably the same one from the Carnival Diabolique "Hope & Faith" twins... I get a strong, almost sharp violet note at first, then it fades back to give the vanilla a place in the spotlight for a bit. IDK if 'chiffon' is actually supposed to be a distinct note/aspect of a note, but I cannot detect anything aside from vanilla violet
LavenderCoffee Report post Posted January 7 This has a positively *dreamy* powdery vintage thing going on! It might need to be added to my sleep scent rotation.
becca_s Report post Posted January 7 This is a lovely duet. The vanilla note here is one of my favorites. I feel like the vanilla chiffon also has a powdered sugar note or something similar because there is a subtle hint of sweetness here. I get an even blend of both the violet and vanilla, one doesn't end up taking over. This is a low throw scent but it lasts a long time.
theseagrows Report post Posted Sunday at 05:44 AM damn, i knew i would absolutely love this, and i do. it's a sweeter/parma violet, not the rainy violet leaf type. it's blended with a gorgeous vanilla that is not super sweet/cakey and therefore is totally dreamy. i love this one and i think i need a bottle.
