Beaver Moon: Violet and Vanilla Chiffon

Recommended Posts

SMITTEN. :thud:

Smitten smitten smitten!

If you take the rich, dusty, vanilla of ORIGINAL Antique Lace - not the 2017 reboot, we are talking OG, mid-Aughts- and you replaced the faded florals with a powdery violet, you get this gorgeous specimen right here. I know we like to talk a big game 'round these parts, things getting compared in such and such manner to Antique Lace- I know. I KNOW.

But I'm telling you, if you are even a LITTLE perked up by my assessment, you NEED to try this. You will be deeply saddened and have only yourself to blame when I hoard all existing bottles and won't share

Kidding aside, this perfume is a standout. Don't be fooled by the idea of "just" two listed notes. This is an absolute keeper. ?  ? ?? ?

The violet in this one is probably the same one from the Carnival Diabolique "Hope & Faith" twins...

I get a strong, almost sharp violet note at first, then it fades back to give the vanilla a place in the spotlight for a bit.

IDK if 'chiffon' is actually supposed to be a distinct note/aspect of a note, but I cannot detect anything aside from vanilla violet :D

This is a lovely duet. The vanilla note here is one of my favorites. I feel like the vanilla chiffon also has a powdered sugar note or something similar because there is a subtle hint of sweetness here.

I get an even blend of both the violet and vanilla, one doesn't end up taking over. This is a low throw scent but it lasts a long time.

damn, i knew i would absolutely love this, and i do. it's a sweeter/parma violet, not the rainy violet leaf type. it's blended with a gorgeous vanilla that is not super sweet/cakey and therefore is totally dreamy. i love this one and i think i need a bottle.

Oh, my!  I agree with @VioletChaos  that the vanilla in this perfume is reminiscent of Antique Lace. It is not a gourmand vanilla, but has a veil of sweetness to it. The violet is soft, and adds to overall beauty of the scent.  This is a lovely perfume- close to skin, long lasting.

This is so pretty. Powdery, delicate violet with an almost marshmallow vanilla. It doesn't have a lot of throw, but it lasts a good while.

it goes in the cloud of wistful, light sweet days-gone-by scents and is very pretty. Agree the vanilla is a sweet one. Gonna be popular.

I think pregnancy is really wrecking my skin chemistry. I get just a little bit of violet on top of what I swear smells just like old school Coppertone sun lotion. Not a bad scent at all, just not the pretty vanilla I was hoping for. I’m definitely hanging onto the bottle and crossing my fingers that my skin goes back to normal after giving birth.

I received a tester of this with a decant order. Violet and its brethren and I do not usually get along, but I have to say: this is probably the best scent featuring violet that I've ever tried. The violet here isn't cloying and candy-like and is more iris-like in nature, with slightly powdery edges. The vanilla is not gourmand, but it is a floofy one. I love how the vanilla just billows out and softens the edges of the violet note. I'm also reminded of when I've layered something like Hanami with its sharp wisteria with Antique Lace 2017, but the way the vanilla just unravels in this and gets stronger over time, mingling with the floral note, is just beautiful. I think this one will be really popular.

To me, this is the epitome of late 80s to mid 90s girl childhood. This smells like pastel floral bedspreads against white iron bed frames, white wicker chairs, and scented plastic baby dolls. Absolutely sentimental and I adore
