Somehow I smelled a rose undertone when I applied this oil - this is not what I was expecting as it is not very sweet smelling. Not getting the candyfloss but lots of clove and some musk which is somehow going musty/tobacco-ey on me. This is fresh out of the box so may need some time to mellow before I try it again! The ruby chocolate is both rich and tart, and every note is present: the candyfloss is fluffy, the vanilla/musk is warm and sweet. The description fits very well, as the clove is just a hint--and I'm glad for it because I love clove but it can dominate. The ruby chocolate note binds everything together in a way that makes it much more than just another vanilla/sugar/musk scent, and I really love it. It almost reminds me of the 'chord' note I mentioned in To A Wreath Of Snow (re-release) but with a sweet vanilla musk... yeah I'm loving it Edited to add: I wrote this in my car driving away from the post office and I stand by it! I don’t really detect any clove which is surprising as clove tends to be pretty prominent no matter what it gets used in. I agree that there is a bit of a tartness to the ruby chocolate, it’s really interesting and different from anything else that I have! The ruby chocolate from Millennial Pink dominates the scent but as it warms on my skin there's a poof of sweet, sheer vanilla and a perfect kiss of warm clove. As with MP the light musk prevents this from being totally foodie. I'm ready to flop over on my back and waggle-roll in it like a doggo finding a stinky spot in the yard.
