doomsday_disco Report post Posted January 16 A stunningly lovely flower that only grows in California. It is integral to the health of recently burnt areas: its roots spread rapidly, anchoring the soil and preventing further erosion. Vanilla-soaked sweet pea, white sandalwood, and almond milk. Geminirubyshoes Report post Posted January 21 This is so stunningly beautiful it almost makes me a little teary eyed. In the bottle rich, soft sweet pea with the creaminess of the almond milk note. Upon the skin the white sandalwood appears to give this the dryness reminiscent of the California sunshine in it’s unscarred form. Those of that love Mouse’s Long & Sad Tale will most likely love this. I This is a slow blink of happiness in a bottle. I wish I could be more descriptive but I’m no longer good at that. Alethia Report post Posted February 12 Sweet pea is a forever love note for me and the rest of the lineup is also stellar on my skin. Mouse’s LAST is my number one sweet pea but this is a close second! It’s a beautiful sweet floral that’s grounded by the sandalwood and almond milk. It never goes screechy or soapy to me but stays this beautiful soft sweet floral with just a hint of milkiness. Love it but I think Mouse’s LAST wins out overall for me due to its GC nature. Still, if you like sweet pea this is definitely one to try!
ArtemisSelene Report post Posted February 14 In the bottle its all light sweet pea scent. Freshly applied its the same but with a whole Lotta throw! I think over applying could give me a scent headache but so far it's okay with the small amount used for testing. It stays a bright sweet pea only for a few hours before mellowing out and sticking close to the wrist. I didn't get any hints of sandalwood but did feel like the almond milk came out to help the mellow happen. I too think I prefer Mouse's as a sweet pea scent but overall this isn't bad! becca_s Report post Posted February 25 On me this is a delicate sweet pea and vanilla scent blended with the almond milk. This is a light and airy scent. The sandalwood is very subtle here and the main notes I'm getting are the sweet pea and almond followed by the vanilla. I think that compared to Mouse's long sad tale, this one has less sandalwood and is more sweet pea forward. I think that this one has a different vanilla note too. They are both pretty scents, but they are quite different from one another.
wolfie13 Report post Posted Monday at 05:02 PM In the bottle and upon first application for me, this is very sweet pea forward, and it reads as a light, somewhat fruity floral to my nose. The sandalwood then comes into the picture shortly after applying, and then I get sweet pea, sandalwood and almond milk in equal measures, and it doesn't go through any additional phases on me. Not much, if any vanilla. Definitely a more of a light, close-to-the-skin vibe on me.
sunshinedaisybliss Report post Posted Thursday at 07:34 AM On my skin, the almond milk is dominant over the sweet pea – the lovely dry sandalwood is keeping it in check so it’s not all shouty MILK, but it’s kinda all milk nonetheless. I really wanted the gorgeous sweet pea, but alas – it’s just hardly showing up for me. And there’s nothing obviously vanilla in here for me either. As for the inevitable comparison with Mouse’s L&ST… they are very different but yeah, I will stick with the Mouse because I do get the lovely sweet pea and vanilla in that one. doomsday_disco Report post Posted Friday at 04:35 PM (edited) I bought this because of the cause, because I love many of the Lab's sweet pea scents, because I enjoy the notes listed here, and because I thought that it might be a cousin to Mouse's Long and Sad Tale. But I've tested this twice, and for some reason, it's just not jiving with me. I think it's the combination of the almond milk with the sweet pea. They're the strongest two notes in the scent (with the sandalwood coming out after the scent has been on the skin for a few hours), and to my nose, the almond milk overpowers and clashes with the sweet pea. Sadly, I'm not able to detect any of the vanilla, and when I wore Mouse's Long and Sad Tale last week, I was swooning -- but this just doesn't produce the same feeling for me despite sharing some notes. Since I can't see myself wearing this over Mouse's Long and Sad Tale, Serving Fish, or the Sweet Pea single note, I'm going to let this bottle go.
