sunshinedaisybliss Report post Posted Wednesday at 08:44 AM When I first put this on, there was a slightly medicinal tone and I thought uh-oh… is this the sharp kind of tobacco that I don’t enjoy? But just a few minutes later that was all gone, and there it is – that gorgeous golden, warm sticky tobacco that I love. The cherry chypre isn’t particularly fruity, it’s not sweet, and it’s definitely not foody – it’s not even a real strong cherry as such, it’s quite dry and woody, as you would expect from a “chypre”. The cherry vibe is in there, but it’s really not a main player here – as in it’s not a cherry-forward blend. Imagine you come across a super old wooden barrel used for years to hold cherries, but it’s been sitting out in the sun and now there’s just a hint of the cherry juices that were soaked into the wood – that’s what this brings to mind. Overall, I find this to be quite a mellow mix of warm golden tobacco, soft warm wood, and a gentle touch of warm cherry. It’s not super punchy, it’s actually quite soft with fairly low throw – one of those warm and comforting blends that’s best enjoyed up close.
