Dirty

Recommended Posts

A wonderful antidote to an all-nighter oozing with drunken, addled perversion and debauchery. A fresh, crisp white linen scent: perfectly clean, perfectly breezy.

[Context: my skin turns everything into candy, except for florals which it turns into rancid garbage.]

In the imp: green, green, juicy green. I just laid down in a field and I'm smooshing grass and maybe a few wildflowers. Oh! honeysuckle! When you pinch the base off with your fingernails to suck the nectar off the stamen. Yep, nailed it.

Wet: I get juicy, green stems, aloe, or smashed cucumber but the cucumbers that are way overripe and don't have a "cucumber" scent anymore - just green and wet and fibrous. I kept thinking of a flax plant, so I wonder if there's flax flower or greens in there, but I could be heavily swayed by the scent note.

Dry: This dries down into almost nothing after an hour or so. I'm not even left with a powder, which is unusual for me.

I could see layering this to add a floral note, add as that may sound to you lucky folks who can wear florals.

When I first put this on, it is indeed a lovely, juicy green, like the juice squeezed from a handful of early spring leaves. But after literally 20 minutes, it has entirely disappeared. A lovely scent, but with almost no throw and zero lasting power.

It's absolutely fantastic in an oil diffuser, though. Makes my whole room smell fresh and clean.

I have a decant of Dirty, not sure when the bottle was purchased.

In the decant vial: it smells like very high quality "laundry soap" but not soapy, just the clean laundry smell afterwards, but amped up a few degrees and like. A lot nicer and ali5ghtly more complex.

Wet on my skin: this has about medium throw. It reminds me of some "aquatics" but very very nice ones, in the laundry area and also some "breeze" fresh sort of note. It's very much like clean laundry, liked in the vial, but even more so, yet more complex than that. Perhaps one of those expensive natural-products based laundry detergents. But it's slightly closer to perfume than laundry. I don't know how else to describe it. I like it, I like it as a perfume specifically. But it is not your typical perfume.

A few hours later: still medium throw, the breeze note has faded but the more tart aquatic-laundry notes are still around, just somewhat more gentle. But overall it still smells remarkably like it did when I first applied it. Decent throw still too though that's faded a bit. I can still smell it without having to put my wrist up to my nose.

Overall, I like it. I don't love it, but I quite like it,I don't know if I would get a bottle but I'm glad I have a decant and I will possibly wear this one until it's empty, though I may try it on friends who are interested in trying perfume that doesn't smell like perfume.
