Dragon's Hide

Recommended Posts

Dragon's Hide (dragon's blood, leather, and a hint of smoke)  I don't think I have really ever tried anything with dragon's blood, since I was always under the impression I did not like it and it was too incensey. Gorgeous scent! In the imp, it's a strange and lightly smokey scent. Wet on the skin, it's like a light and beautiful incense. As it dries, the smoke and leather blend beautifully. It's got pretty low throw. It may be a gateway to Dragon's blood to for me. I am definitely going to end up with a bottle, as I may be able to share this one with my SO!

The leather and smoke weren't my favorite, but I wanted to give it a try. They didn't mix well with my body and I wasn't a fan of them on the skin.

I have an imp of this. It's lovely. Dragon's blood with leather & smoke is a fantastic combination. Smells like burning dragon's blood resin with a whiff of leather in the background.

Dragon's blood is one of my worst notes, so the whole Ars Draconis category is tough for me. However, Dragon's Hide is by far the best I've tried, particularly impressive in that I am not a smoke-and-leather lover, either. The notes are blended into perfect smoothness, so none of them stand out as overpowering or piercing as I have often experienced. Though this style remains "not my cup of tea," I enjoyed this, and it exceeded expectations.

In the imp, all I was getting was dragon's blood.  But as soon as it went on my skin, it morphed into leather--then leather and smoke, with a tiny bit of dragon's blood under it.  After a while, the dragon's blood came back out, and now it's most of what I'm smelling.  Interesting.

An imp of this was my first experience with dragon's blood, and I had no idea what to expect! On me it feels like a sharp, almost spicy floral scent, but with something frozen and amber-like which takes it out of the realm of the floral.

Retesting Dragon's Hide again after having tried a few more scents with dragon's blood in them (thank you Carmillas!) and I can pick out the leather smoothing out the edges of this scent - the first time the dragon's blood was such a new experience that I couldn't notice anything else. I still don't get any smoke, though my imp is quite aged. The combination of leather and the relatively unfamiliar scent of dragon's blood makes this feel to me like a scent out of a fantasy world, maybe of some magical warrior. It's an energizing scent for me. After some experimentation I think I prefer dragon's blood mixed with more other notes, so I won't try to track down a bottle of this one, but I am glad to have it and glad that it was my introduction to dragon's blood.
