Baneberry

[Casablanca]

A poisonous fruit-bearing member of the buttercup family. The scent, like the plant, is dark green, herbal, and plump with bulging black fruit.

 

This smells just as described: dark green and herbal, with a ripe, currant-like dark fruit note. I think this would layer well with plum, currant, and blackberry fragrances.

This is very... clean. Like, soprano floral with tart berry bouncing. It's bright and uplifting. Laundry-esq in a good wet clean way. But too much floral for me personally.

 

I also don't get "dark green" from it. It does smell fresh & wild though.

I wanted to not like this because wet, it smelled like sweet berries. But dry, the green herbal quality rivals the berry scent, and it is [huffing arm again] something I could see wanting to try again. Keeping my imp! Would be lovely as an atmo spray!

Baneberry smells exactly like it's a description: a dark fruit accompanied by a green herbalness that almost has a Christmas-y quality to it, although the berry itself does not (it's not tart, red, or bright).

 

It's not something I'd choose to wear, but I am glad I got to try it!
