fairybites Report post Posted April 27, 2021 This is great and a lot of fun, far exceeded my expectations! Started out heavily kumquat and citrus from the orange blossom, but with time those notes fade to a powder and that allows the pepper and tea to shine. Reminds me of a sugary candy version of White Rabbit without the linen notes. Pretty nice, one of my favorites from Mad Tea Party so far!
Lin Swanson Report post Posted May 25, 2021 Wet: bright, juicy, sharp citrus fruit Dry: still citrus-fruit-y but also now I get the orange blossom. I make kumquat bitters, that are fruity but also quite floral, and this not only reminds me a little of that but makes me think I need to try some pepper in my next batch. It's a very nice combination.
a_bear Report post Posted July 20, 2021 White tea and pepper can be really sharp notes on me, but when they behave this is a bright, juicy citrus scent as the reviewer above said. I like pairing it with Tweedledum to soften and ground it.
Rane. Report post Posted August 9, 2021 (edited) Obtained a full bottle in 2018. So close to empty. 😩 I love the peppery kumquat & orange blossom notes I get hit with first. Then as it fades I get slightly spices white tea with kumquat just barely there. A silly & fun Summertime perfume. I wear this on days I'm feeling shy or foolish for feeling shy. Haha Edited August 9, 2021 by Rane. *gotta fix them typos again
bkwy.aesthetics Report post Posted August 9, 2021 I received this as a frimp on an order and to me, this is the smell of pure joy, and it have a hugely aromatherapeutic effect on me. And, thanks to this perfume, I now know what a kumquat is (after a bit of googling!) Great perfume, but tragically short throw and wear time. I'll still pick up a full bottle eventually though! In Bottle: Bright and fruity, sweet and tart! To me, this smells like the white (I believe pear-flavored?) gummy bears! But much fancier 💛 On Skin: The white pepper and orange blossom join the party and the kumquat is now backed by a lovely spicy floral! The white tea is not detectable by my nose, but it could be adding to the fruitiness or florals. Dry Down: The spice of the pepper continues to amp, but this is a mostly linear scent. Wear Time: 3-4hrs Throw: Light (3-4in)
freyasfae Report post Posted December 17, 2021 Someone described this as fruity pebbles, and now I can think of no other way to describe it.
Beary Strange Report post Posted March 10, 2022 Chiming in with, yes, this is 100% liquid Fruity Pebbles essence. On initial application, there is a distinct waft of kumquat and orange blossoms, but it settles into fruity cereal so quickly that I have to really concentrate to pick out the individual notes. And in what is an interesting revelation for me, a person cursed with skin that takes spice notes and turns them into nightmares, the white pepper is not only not screaming in my face, it seems to be just quietly deepening the citrusy, fruity notes. I'm now left wondering if I've been avoiding white pepper, and maybe pink, for no reason. I'm in love with this scent, and I'm so so grateful to Haute Macabre for sending it as a frimp with my order. This perfume is pure happiness in a bottle; the kind of thing you put on when you've had a hard day and need a pick me up, or just want to start the day cheerfully. I've been putting off ordering GC for a while now, but I need a full bottle of this asap.
biggnerd Report post Posted May 30, 2022 Citrusy kumquat - which is reading somewhere like mandarin on my skin - a hint of white tea, and orange blossom. When citrus is paired with orange blossom on my skin, they combine to make a sweet/tart scent that is reminiscent of the powdered sour candy (lickit sticks? pixie sticks?) I had as a kid. It's very fresh and pretty. Here, I think the white tea and pepper help keep it from going too sweet and high pitched, even though I can't smell them directly. ShadowEtienne Report post Posted January 5, 2023 Tweedledee was immediately intriguing to me because I love kumquats. I initially sampled it at my sister's along with several other scents in close succession and really liked it, but didnt take proper notes of my thoughts. These notes are from my second try sampling it. Tweedledee is starting out candied kumquat with notes of pepper. A good smell, but I remember it got more complex with time. As it settles, it becomes a little less candy sweet, the light floral of the orange blossom comes out some, and the pepper pops a little more. A little bit of the white tea coming also begins to come through. The smell reminds me of helping my foster mom make candied kumquats with the windows open while someone is drinking tea under the blooming orange tree in the pot on the front porch. I like it a lot and it will likely eventually be a full bottle scent for me.
crystaltongue Report post Posted April 6, 2023 A friend described the scent of tweedledee as "several people are typing". This seems accurate to me, as it smells different on every person I've smelled try it. On me, it is sweet candied citrus with just a bite of pepper - delightful and energizing. This one warranted a full bottle.
