georgiamagnolia Report post Posted December 30, 2004 One of my fondest childhood memories is of fields of alfalfa at twilight in the middle of Summer, fresh green scents and that wonderful fragrance they give off after a rain storm and the cool green and purple scent they have in the dark after a really hot Summer day when the sun finally sets. But nowhere can I find a bottle of Twilight Alfalfa Field. I am a total newbie to BPAL, having only gotten two orders so far, with one outstanding. So I am not yet very experienced in the amazing range of scents available here. Has anybody found any scents that are fresh mown hay like? Thank you for your help. Share this post Link to post
Penance Report post Posted December 30, 2004 Scarecrow is a very nice freshly harvested field scent in my opinion. I wouldn't say it was like fresh mown grass, but it's definitely a field scent. It reminds me of the country and makes me horribly homesick. Or Val Sans Retour (an up-and-coming) is grassy with some citrus. Hope that helps somewhat! Share this post Link to post
georgiamagnolia Report post Posted December 30, 2004 Hooray! Thank you for those suggestions. I am so glad that payday is Friday, I will order imps right away... well, tomorrow anyway. Thank you so much. *worships BPAL* Share this post Link to post
tart Report post Posted December 30, 2004 Maybe Coyote? The Native American Creator / Trickster God of Chaos and Change. The warmth of doeskin, dry plains grasses and soft, dusty woods warmed by amber and a downy, gentle coat of deep musk. (Gender neutral) Share this post Link to post
georgiamagnolia Report post Posted December 30, 2004 (edited) oooh, that does sound good. I am adding it to my new Imp Wants List. (which just keeps growing.) Thank you so much. Edited December 30, 2004 by georgiamagnolia Share this post Link to post
Mistral Report post Posted December 30, 2004 Rosalind is more sweet grass than fresh-mown hay - more like a spring meadow than twighlight field, y'know - but it might be somewhat close to what you're looking for. Worth trying, anyway. But then, I love it, so I'm biassed. Share this post Link to post
magikfanfic Report post Posted December 30, 2004 Amsterdam is a grass/floral kind of scent. At least on me it was. So you might like that for a grass kind of scent. Share this post Link to post
sheelanagig Report post Posted December 30, 2004 To my nose, Dublin smells like grass and clover. Might be worth looking into. Share this post Link to post
georgiamagnolia Report post Posted December 30, 2004 Fantastic! Thank you all for your suggestions. I have a great list of imps to order and try now. I appreciate all your help. Share this post Link to post

georgiamagnolia Report post Posted December 31, 2004 AHHH! What is wrong with me??!?! I have a unicorn tattoo and I have not yet gotten an imp of this one. My Bad! Thank you for the suggestion. *impatiently awaiting tomorrow's paychecks* Share this post Link to post
Penance Report post Posted January 1, 2005 You're welcome! I hope you find something you like! I know I almost cried when I found Scarecrow, it was so perfect for me. It was everything I missed about growing up in the country and then some. Share this post Link to post
starrykitten Report post Posted January 1, 2005 I would suggest Dublin, which is very green, and Queen Mab, which is grassy but floral. Share this post Link to post
georgiamagnolia Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Thanks starrykitten. I ordered an Imp of Dublin last night. Queen Mab is on my list for next time. I appreciate the help. Share this post Link to post
rainbow Report post Posted January 2, 2005 Okay, I know this isn't a BPAL oil, but you might want to check out this thread in the fashion and beauty section: Here It's for a soap merchant who has a soap called "A Roll in the Hay" which is supposed to smell of fresh-cut grass. Might be a good shower alternative. Here's a link direct to the soap site: Soap Share this post Link to post
starrykitten Report post Posted January 2, 2005 Again, not BPAL, but some witchy oil supplies have New Mown Hay Oil. I know Azure Green does. I haven't smelled Scarecrow, but it sounds like it could be a good approximation. Share this post Link to post
georgiamagnolia Report post Posted January 4, 2005 ooh! Thanks for those suggestions too. Share this post Link to post
surf-tormented Report post Posted January 4, 2005 I would put it a vote for Scarecrow. There was another one I tried that smelled grassy, but let me think about that because the name of it is escaping me. Share this post Link to post
sh1mm3r Report post Posted January 8, 2005 I really like Phantom Queen... to my nose it is a field of clover. Share this post Link to post
Roses Ablaze Report post Posted December 12, 2006 (edited) Like hay or something - I don't mean the kind of green grass you grown in your lawn. I mean something more golden or brown than green. Edited September 12, 2008 by ivyandpeony added search terms to title Share this post Link to post
portalkat Report post Posted December 12, 2006 You might want to try Coyote in the Excolo category Share this post Link to post
Mountaingrrl00 Report post Posted December 12, 2006 I was going to suggest Coyote too. The Lion has a dry-grass note, too. Share this post Link to post
argylexsoul Report post Posted December 12, 2006 I would definitely recommend Scarecrow! Share this post Link to post
jewelbug Report post Posted December 12, 2006 I don't know if you like spice, but silk road to me is spice and golden grasses. Share this post Link to post
kakiphony Report post Posted December 12, 2006 On me, the Lion dries down to golden grasses tinged with spices and something sweet and honey-like, but not honey. Share this post Link to post
